(All results determined by simple dice driven game. Please, no wagering).
Before: Hill giving up some muscle, but confident of ‘busting the old woman up’--entertaining preflight conferences feature Faith going on and on about her speed and skills--Hemingway pretending to sleep through it, waking to say “is it time for me to knock her out yet?” Hill maybe the best of the C&W technicians, hasn’t had a lot of pro rounds but quality sparring with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and Ali Landry keeps her in shape. Classic puncher/boxer duel--Hill in retro white bikini, white loop between the breasts and at the hips, Hemingway in pale blue cami-strap tankini, navy bottoms.
During R1: Hemingway out Holmes-like--showing SHE’S got the mean stick, stepping and stabbing to Hill’s face to back the singer up. Faith using the ring early, putting mileage on the veteran’s legs. Down the stretch, Hill with a nice bounding fade step times Mariel for a biting counter hook on the teeth, sees Mariel’s legs give way, steps in with a chopping quick one-two on the eye and HEMINGWAY’S HURT! Faith grinning, POUNDING away on the left eyebrow and jabs as Hemingway cringes away to the ropes. Mariel crouching, right hand up around her left temple as she bobs and weaves low--Faith chop-chopping one-twos in rapid succession to steal the round. Big smile Faith as she sashays to her corner--Mariel already cut on the eyebrow, shaking her head in disappointment.
R2: Faith back to work with then jab--keening it out there, finding the brow ridge, busting up Hemingway’s fragile skin. Hill better with her feet than most country girls--she’s stepping out nice, walking around either Hemingway shoulder, putting straight punches on target from a comfortable distance. Mariel crouching, trying to weave the jab, but not busy enough this round--this is Faith’s fight.
R3: Cat and mouse continues--Hill circling to her left, razor-jab banging off the forehead of her foe--Mariel with the right hand up around that angry left eye, moving her head as she creeps forward. Midway through, Mariel times a looping Ben Tackle right hand over hill’s long stick--Hill splattered upside the head, legs go wonky--she’s in trouble. Hemingway in with a healthy shove in the chest, gets faith tottering backwards. Just misses a savage overhand right as Hill sprawls dazed at the ropes. Mariel jabbing to close, Hill with feet squared up, pushes out desperate leather--gloves bash back and forth and FAITH GOES DOWN! Hill slugging 3ith, and paying the price, takes a battering right off her face and drops straight down limp on her haunches. Ref waves it off without a count--Hill slumbering, Hemingway struts away KO3 smug.
After: Hill having some moments, outboxing Mariel for the most part, but Hemingway doing a nice Vince Phillips imitation to even up the stagger. Faith probably more comfortable around 130, also more durable, and needs to be busier to keep her timing sharp. Nice payday for Mariel, keeps her name in the papers and a flashy knockout over a pretty blonde’s always good for the ego.
