Before: Nice showcase for two deserving fighters, Biel resentful in preflight: “I look at the so-called elite in this division--Alba, Connelly, Daniel, Fishel--girls I know I can take apart, and it just sucks. I’m taking Rinna because none of these other girls will touch her. I’m looking to dazzle Lisa and get Jessica Biel back on track.” Rinna happy to let biel whine, “I don’t really care what happens after this fight,” says the veteran, “I’m focused on turning back a good young prospect and that’s all. Jessica’s going to learn you don’t plan too far ahead when you’ve got Lisa Rinna in front of you,” Rinna in navy bandeau top, red bikini bottoms, Jessica in red “Summer Catch” bikini, blonde highlights.

During R1: Quality skills on show early, Biel loose, lots of upper body movement, right hand at her chin, left at her belly, looking to turn punches in with her body. Rinna defensively sound, hands up high, parrying Biel’s limber jab, stepping out o circle. Biel the aggressor--Lisa using the ting, taking a look.

R2: Jessica stalking, looking to bend into that supple right cross. Lisa reading well, giving ground early, blocking high, and midway through, she times Biel’s right, rolls with it, comes back with a blunt right hand on the mouth and sends Jessica staggering back on her heels,. Biel recovering very well from a tough shot--she legs out the hurt, gets back on with her jab, and has Rinna contained behind that tight high guard at the bell.

R3: Lisa settling into the counterpunch mode, buoyed by the effect f her punch on Jessica’s legs in the second. Biel continuing to lead, good stiff jab off her stomach, slinging right hands, swatting left hooks--nice lathering action on her punches as she sways her torso side to side for leverage, Biel getting hooks in around the right elbow, turning them over into uppercuts, finishing up with stamping right hands through the middle--all partially blocked.

R4: Similar stuff, Rinna patient, safety first, doing a good job of minimizing damage, but not putting enough on Biel to prevent her from executing.. Jessica dictating, nice lanky action as she gets off in tight swiping bursts, Biel just working on the defense, bouncing her gloves off Lisa’s guard, going downstairs to work the waist, stepping around either Rinna shoulder in search of openings,. Tight action through 4, Biel ahead, but Rinna right there round after round.

R5: Biel gets to Rinna early, Jessica planted strong, slashing hooks under the elbow, gets a little give from Rinna and goes immediately to the spring-loaded left uppercut, Biel getting terrific leverage off her front foot breaks Rinna up--Lisa stepping back with a hurting expression--Biel pouncing in. Middle minute fierce two way slugging at the ropes--Rinna digging in, refusing to punk--she’s in a tight crouch, dipping side to side to fit in hurtful counters to Biel’s ribcage as the blonde gets wide and reckless. Jessica backing off at last, taking a deep, ragged breath--Rinna on the stalk and Biel walks her into a CRASHING right hand. Rinna put wobbly butt--tilting forward as Biel lashes the follow up hook home--Lisa getting walloped, swaying on the spot as Biel tears it up. Bell sounds--Rinna teetering, staring--Biel all smiles as she struts to her corner.

R6: Rinna out with gloves at her temples--she fades Biel’s jab, answers with a quick high hook, slips Biel’s right hand, comes back a hook on the chops and BIEL IS HURT! Jessica coming apart, eyes pleading--Rinna ion her with short, clubbing blows from her high guard, fists pounding face and driving Biel ropeside, Veteran going immediately to the body--tough two-hand stampede to breadbasket as Biel folds in to clinch. Lisa getting big on Jessica, shoving out of the clinches, loading up and THUMPING short right hands off the solar plexus, then digging away in combination to the belly, Biel suffering, riding her arms up around Lisa’s shoulders, trying to tie her up--good brunette come-back round puts a lot of mileage on Biel’s long, strong legs.

R7: Lisa ion the attack--jabs out of the high guard, stubby, straight punches putting Biel on the defensive, Jessica showing a good reverse gear--she’s sliding back in good order, closing up her stance, shoulder-rolling most of the incoming, Midway through, Biel slips the jab, slings a beautiful right hand off her hip to beat Rinna’s right--Lisa taking on the teeth, missing over the top and she’s staggered once again! Biel’s turn to consolidate--hunching in close, she gets good bounce off her knees, cranking in hooks to the rightside ribcage--Rinna crippled, soaking for a moment as she gets her bearings. Down the stretch, Lisa showing heart sucks it up, comes forward again behind straight, abrupt punching--lead right hands are finding Biel’s face and lumping her up at the bell.

R8: Lisa keeps up the torrid pace late--hounding Biel, driving her to corners, making her work. Jessica snarling, fighting hard, but getting beaten to punches by Rinna;s straighter, shorter delivery. Shattering action all around the ring--it’s Lisa walking Biel to a spot, having at her--both girls getting off in bursts--then Biel retreating to a new stand, Rinna in grim, relentless pursuit.

R9: Lisa pouring it on…for a minute, then starts to fade as Jessica picks up the pace, Biel re-establishing the jab, halting Rinna’s momentum, getting Lisa leaning back behind that high guard--Biel able to lash her body shots in, really bounce her mitts off that tight midsection. Rinna not getting off in the second half of this round--she’s defensively very tight, blocking a lot of shots--but Biel’s got that nice licking, slashing attack going again, slathering away for points this round.

R10: Girls trade hooks on the chin, Rinna dropping a chopping right on top and Biel’s legs give a shimmy as she buckles early! Rinna heartless--stepping Biel back with a jutting left uppercut, quick left hook on the mouth, snapping left hook in the ribs until Jessica hit’s the ropes, Rinna getting her head and elbows on Jessica to brace her at the strands--Lisa just standing jess up and working her head and elbows on Jessica to brace her at the strands--Lisa just standing jess up and working her over now, compact punches, snap snap snap against the body and head. Biel baring her teeth answering back--she’s got her gloves at her face, leaning in on Rinna, trying to dip and rip lanky uppercuts in between Rinna’s chops, Sensational banging action in phone booth, neither beauty moving from her little patch of canvas--girls just beat each other raw to the bell and beyond as the ref jumps in. Girls seething for more--both convinced of victory: comes back narrow UD10 Jessica Biel.

After: Biel full of herself in victory--raises her arms, snapping her fingers, shows Rinna a taunting little hip-swiveling victory dance as Lisa is restrained in her corner. Lisa letting herself get outworked early, fell in love with the hard right hand counter and it cost her, Jessica’s best win in some time--good disciplined effort, the sort of thing she hasn’t shown at times in the past. Both women able to come back from tough shots to put pressure on their foe in this one--very competitive bout.
