Before: Claire looking to revisit old stomping grounds in Rachael Leigh--Cook anxious to get a long awaited rematch with the flyweight sorceress. Mish and Eliza coming up flat post-Holmes--Danes assumes center stage as the rock of the Wolfpack. “I’ve always between the go-to girl at HISC,” shrugs Claire. “You guys (the press) dote on Jennifer or Eliza from time to time, but I think you’re finally getting it: I’m the stopper on this tea,. When HISC needs a big won, I’m the one going out and getting it. As for Rachael? I’m gonna showcase--this one’s for my fans--just a chance o kick back, have a beer and watch Claire Danes take a pretty brunette apart.” Cook with some of the tools you’d like against Danes--good punching, compact delivery, good tenacity--but she’ll have to deliver a constant full court press to get by Danes. Red bikini Claire--gloriously trampy white cashmere two piece Cook.

During R1: Claire: right at her cheek, extended chiseling jab, scraping it as she steps right, cuffing hooks as she steps left, just getting a read on Cook. Leigh: dukes at her mouth, bobbing side to side, stepping to close, then getting off, Some scrubbing flurries from Rache when she lets her hands go--Danes nicely minimizing brunette opportunities with precision footwork.

R2: Rachael steps up the pace--skidding punches off Claire’s temple or cheek--blonde pivoting left with her lead foot in a bucket, chin tucked behind left shoulder, trying to settle Cook down with lashing hooks to waist, Brisk back and forth--Cook finally pounds a clubbing right hand flat off Claire’s face to stagger the former champ. Danes alarmed, takes to her heels, legging along the perimeter in forfeit of points as Rachael hounds blonde to the bell.

R3: Claire at her most vindictive, Pivoting left--blonde guts brunette with slashing hooks, fits tidy right hands flat to the sternum, swats cheek calling card lefts--poor Rachael Leigh shipping one-sided shellack, Brunette stumbling forward--Danes ripping to the body, easing backwards to walk Cook into drilling hesitation rights, pivoting left as she swats the taste out of Rachael’s mouth. Danes blend of punching and movement mesmerizing--Rachael bewitched, covering up and taking a pasting as blonde lathers away at will. Cook hurt throughout, gamely keeping her feet despite quaking knees and trembling backside--Rachael dressed up bell to bell--blood on cashmere as Cook’s sent wobbly butt back to her stool for repairs.

R4: Claire at her best with mauled opposition in front of her--Cook hurt, tentative, shuffling forward--blonde stepping and pivoting, picking and choosing what to take. Chiseling jab working on Rachael’s doe eyes, shining up her face. Potshot right hands, Claire bending in and posing for a moment to showcase gaudy hesitation shots. Cook showing tons and tons of heart--getting rung up, but walking through it--just can’t convince herself to answer back. Breezy shutout Claire Danes--she reaches back to clap a chunk of ivory cashmere clad backside as the girls pass en route to corners: big brassy grin, Danes.

R5: Rachael with a spanking right hand to the face stuns Claire--Danes scampering away, feinting to keep Cook off  and legging for time. Rachael  loading up and swinging away--missing as Danes glides along the perimeter--blonde able to halt brunette in her tracks: right cross, shivering left uppercut to the sternum--licking left hook to tummy as cook covers up shook. Danes back on top with her jab, eyes blazing--she’s cut in the mouth and she’s not taking it well. Cook beaten soundly rest of the way--Claire stepping to either side, jabs and crosses pounding away at Rachael’s tender, sleepy face. Bell: Rachael groggy at the ropes--she’s not ready when Danes steps in with the cheap elbow-tip to the pit of the stomach--Cook shouting in pain, doubling up as Claire storms back to corner unsatisfied.

R6: Rachael Leigh’s been brave all nigh, walked through accurate, pasting potshots, shipped it tough to the body--but it’s all adding up fast. Cook sluggish, droopy coming forward--Claire easing right, leading with the right hand up top coming back to midsection with licking left hands and sliding to the side. Cook breaking down--Claire sensing weakness in Rachael’s throbbing  midsection--blonde starting to go there with rich, slinging rights and lefts, tidying up on the waist. Cook struggling forward for almost two minutes, traipsing after Danes as Claire lures brunette, then turns her at the ropes, Claire loose and bandy-armed, shrugging in a right/left/right uppercut series to ring Cook up, then back to the body with stroking power--it’s all too much, Cook sobbing, sinking in stages to all fours--she’s all busted up and helpless as Claire gazes down smug. Cook trying to get off her haunches, but falling back down each time: it’s KO6 Claire Danes.

After: Claire delivers promised showcase--boxing brilliantly, punching in spots, going to the body the steady attrition--poor Rachael Leigh soaks up a disastrous beating in going as long as she did. Not over for Cook--happy Claire takes Rachael by the wrist and leads her back to the HISC corner like so much plunder. Cook stacked and mounted in the corner as Danes poses for BLONDE! Photographers, flashbulbs painting Claire in majestic bursts of silver. Cook blubbering in protest beneath her conqueror--Danes sometimes grabs brunette’s wrists and pulling her arms straight up, sometimes posing classique with the left hand entwined in damp tangles of Cook’s hair, pointing skyward with the right.
