BEFORE: BEFORE: "The fact is," Elizabeth says, a smile playing on her lips, "There aren't many elite fighters at welterweight. You've got Landry, Righetti, Henstridge, Nolin, Bjorlin...maybe Regan, Loken and Kiebler. And ME, of course. We're the cream. The top level. Notice whose name is missing? Leelee's. Sure, she can beat the lower level welters. But, the cream? No. Never has and never will. Now, I don't blame her for trying to get into the top echelon. But, she's midcard for life. And tonight I'm going to knock her right back there."

"Oh, she's dangerous, no doubt," Leelee says, nodding her head. "She can box and she has a big punch. What she doesn't have is the stamina to go ten with me. I'm 28 and she's 38. And that will be the difference. Sooner or later, she's going to fade. And when she does, it's going to be ALL Leelee ALL the time."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Jenny O'Dell back ringside with Pam Anderson, and, Pam, two pretty similar styles tonight..."

Pam: "Absolutely, Jenny-O. You've got a pair of tall, rangy boxer/punchers. Both use a stand up style. Now, I agree with Leelee that one difference between the two is age. But, the other is experience, and all of THAT belongs to Berkley. And that can be a lot more important than age, as fighters like Ali Landry have proven."

O'Dell: "Well, we're about to find out as the bell rings and here we go. Berkley some crisp stuff here early on. Using the jab effectively. Boxing and circling. Leelee landing some here, too, but Liz is dictating pace."

Pam: "Sure is. That jab is really nasty tonight. Lots of folks think a jab is just a set up punch, but, if you have a good, strong one like Berkley does, it can wear on an opponent. Ask anyone who ever fought George Foreman."

O'Dell: "Well, Berkley's got it working here. That's the end of the first and it was competitive, but that's Liz's round."

Pam: "Agreed. Round one goes to experience."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "On to round two, and, again, Berkley using the jab well. She's getting off first on Leelee quite a bit here. Sobieski firing back. Landing as well, but Liz getting the better of things at the moment."

Pam: "Leelee a bit too methodical here. Getting beaten to punches. I wonder if she's being a bit too respectful of Liz's power."

O'Dell: "Berkley showing some good hand and foot movement here. Getting off first, using that jab to preempt Leelee. Sobieski sticking with it, not getting frustrated, but she's not scoring as much as Liz, and, as the second ends, I think Berkley's up 2-0."

Pam: "No question about it, Jenny-O. Again, the round was competitive, but Berkley came out the winner."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round underway, and this is why Berkley's so dangerous, Pam. Using that jab at a distance, getting off first, beating Sobieski to punches."

Pam: "This can be disheartening stuff. You're trying to get off, but she's preempting you."

O'Dell: "She certainly is. Nice right hand to the midsection there for Liz. Haven't seen a ton of body work so far, but Berkley getting to it now. Picking up Leelee on the way in, working those rights to the midsection off the jab some. Leelee still scoring some, but Berkley's having the better of it as the third comes to an end."

Pam: "Something's got to change here for Leelee. I've got it 30-27 right now in favor of Berkley. You don't want to get too far behind a veteran like Liz or she'll put it on cruise control down the stretch and run the clock out on you."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "The fourth underway now and we're seeing a bit of a change here on Leelee's end. Sobieski more aggressive here, doubling up the jab and moving forward on Liz, looking to close. Berkley still working the jab, but Leelee having some success getting inside now, going to the body some here."

Pam: "Nasty right hook to the kidney right there, Jenny!"

O'Dell: "Berkley clinching and Leelee banging away with the right hand downstairs until the referee separates the two. Liz at range back to the jab, moving again as Leelee works back in tight, working to the body, roughing Liz up in the clinch here as the round comes to an end."

Pam: "Best round of the fight for Leelee. Close, but I think she won that one. Check the replay on some of the body work in close here. Leelee banging the right hand to the ribs and lats. That kind of punishment will have an effect if she can pile it up."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth underway and Berkley back to that jab. She's got it working beautifully again here, but Sobieski walking through it to get inside. Wants to work in close, going back to the body in tight, muscling Liz around in the clinches."

Pam: "Sobieski is a strong, well built girl. She's getting Liz off balance inside, moving her around."

O'Dell: "Liz clinches, gets the break, and goes back to the jab. She's lumping Sobieski up with it from range, but Leelee again working through it to the inside, physical in the clinches here, working the body with hooks to the kidneys and ribs. And that's it for the fifth. Another close one, Pam, but I've got that one for Leelee."

Pam: "Me, too. We've got a close one through five."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Round six underway and Berkley SURGICAL with that jab! Leelee still trying to work inside, but having no luck here. Liz circling left, stopping Sobieski in her tracks with that left, getting off a combination here or there and then circling away again."

Pam: "She's starting to bust Leelee up with the jab now, Jenny-O. This is where a fighter will get careless. And if you do that with Liz, well, your evening is going to come to an abrupt end."

O'Dell: "Leelee game here, but nothing's working. Liz in total command with that jab, dictating the pace. And that's the end of the sixth. Best round for either fighter. Goes to Berkley."

Pam: "Check the replay here, how crisp and clean that jab is. Lands it spot on. Sobieski's head snaps back. Liz circles, sets up another. Same result. Great round."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh underway and it's Liz in control again. Snapping that crisp jab and working the body off it. Good solid right hands in the wake of those left jabs. Sobieski trying to work inside, but Liz isn't having any."

Pam: "This is clinical, right here."

O'Dell: "Berkley, mixing punches off the jab now. Rights to the body, hooks to the head. Sobieski being preempted once again, getting off second too much here. Berkley's found the range and she's peppering the target as the seventh comes to a close."

Pam: "Check the replay here, how Berkley uses this jab to set up the right to the body. Now, watch her use THAT to set up the next combination. Jab lands. Leelee's guard comes down waiting for that right, and there's a palm-down hook to the side of the head. Great round Elizabeth Berkley, who's now in control of this fight."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Leelee again working inside the jab as the eighth gets underway. Berkley looking to maintain distance, but Sobieski jabbing her way inside. Looking to work inside that jab of the older blonde. OH! Big exchange right there! Both ladies landing hard stuff to the head before Sobieski closes and works the body."

Pam: "Berkley doesn't want to trade right now. She's got the power to turn Leelee off, sure, but she doesn't NEED to. She's in control on the cards."

O'Dell: "Sobieski aggressive again, jabbing inside. Good right hand counter Liz! And Leelee fires back with a right-left to the head! Berkley another hard right. Dangerous stuff here as round eight comes to an end!"

Pam: "Close round there. Could have gone either way."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Moving into the ninth now, and, once again Leelee aggressive, working inside Berkley's jab. Solid left-right there from Liz and...DOWN GOES BERKELY! OH! BIG HOOK SOBIESKI! Liz sent right to her buns! Leelee to a neutral corner. Ref picks up the count at three. Berkley up at six. Ref going to let this continue. And Leelee is all over Liz! Berkley covering up here as Sobieski hammers away at range now. Liz being battered along the ropes, leaning forward and clinching. Referee breaks and Berkley trying to get back to the jab, but Sobieski walking through it, going back to work upstairs. Berkley forced back to the defensive as Leelee hammers away at her guard, bangs some punches in downstairs, then a good solid right to the head as the bell rings ending the ninth."

Pam: "Huge round there for Leelee. Let's watch the big punch. Look at this sweeping hook from the crouch. Catches Liz clean! Punch of the fight so far."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "This fight is hanging in the balance as we go to the tenth, Pam. And Leelee's at Berkley aggressively. Liz back to that jab, but Leelee walking through it. Banging away with hooks and crosses. Berkley backing up, picking away at Sobieski with the jab. Leelee downstairs with a pair of hooks to the kidneys. Liz a good hard straight left. Sobieski a left to the body and...BIG RIGHT HAND! BERKLEY IS DOWN!"

Pam: "HUGE RIGHT CROSS! BERKLEY'S OUT!"

O'Dell: "Referee's count at seven, eight, nine...THAT'S IT! Berkley still flat on her back at ten! Sobieski comes from behind for a KO10 over Elizabeth Berkley!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Pam Anderson!"

Pam: "Leelee, great fight tonight. Got yourself in a hole early..."

Leelee: "Liz can box and she's got a great punch. Sheis right. She's an elite welterweight. But so am I. And I suspect she's not the only one who realized that for the first time tonight."
