Before: Britney on the comeback trail, takes on classic dark horse Jordana Brewster in a fight many think could be a tough test for the blonde. Brewster showing NO respect in preflight, even  slapping Britney’s face on the podium, doing whatever it takes to get under Spears’ skin. “I’m gonna beat this tramp like the hobo she is,” declares Brewster. “It’s gonna be ugly. Brutal. Just me, giving it to Britney until she punks, and then, they better be quick, I’m not stopping until someone pulls me off--I don’t care of she’s out!!” Spears has heard it before, but she’s testy off the Connelly beating and the Alba wound--Jordana doing more damage psychologically than she otherwise might have. Britney in black velvet sports bra and boy cut trunks, gold fringe--Jordana in black pushup, red high waisted trunks. Steamy stare down--Jordana going nose to nose, smirking, being insufferable.

During R1: Jordana very aggressive early, coming out with a well schooled jab, stepping in sharp to hook off the stick, Britney batting Jordana’s punches out of the air while stepping back, roaming to either side--blonde using the ring, slowly takes the play away with juicy stroking hooks to the stomach--jumping in, landing, then blocking high as she steps out. Down the stretch, Jordana comes ion, bites on a sweet feint from Britney--brunette freezes, blonde lunges in with a clouting hook, short right hand on the face--Brewster clattering back in her heels in shock as she tastes the speed and power of Spears.

R2: Britney putting on a run and gun clinic. Blonde roaming right or left, shearing in off either Brewster shoulder, lead hooks, slashing right hands, then sidestepping escapes. Brewster with her hands up high, elbows in--good defense from the brunette as she blunts the incoming, but she’s getting outclassed as Spears gets her touches.

R3: Brewster composed, starts dropping that jab out of her high, relaxed defense, breaking up Britney’s rushes. Spears getting halted in no-woman’s land--Jordana able to hook off the jab, drop the right hand in--she’s backing Britney up with firm, clean combinations. Late in the round--Jordana gliding in on her front foot, licks double hooks up into Britney’s breadbasket--nice, graceful delivery--Brewster smiling, Spears hunched over, taking tough.

R4: Spears goes flat footed, hammers her way into Jordana’s waist wit tight, bouncing lefts and rights. Brewster backed up a few steps, stands her ground, answers with rigid hooks, chopping right hands ribs and head, Spears with the right hand at her left cheek, left across her abdomen, bobbing up and down, coming out of the crouch with hooks to once again force Jordana back. Brewster stabilizing g, bat-bat-batting her hook, chopping in that short right and SPEARS GOES WOBBLY BUTT! Jordana taking over, hooking her girl in the midsection as Britney staggers to her left--Brewster bracing with her left elbow, then snapping off short, clubbing blows. Spears covering up, sagging to the ropes--Brewster gets happy as her fists bash away at bronzed blonde limbs and midriff.

R5:Britney slugging--Jordana boxing--role reversal works in brunette’s favour. Brewster surprisingly slick as she slidesteps back, scuffing up Spears’ face the jab, bringing the blonde’s momentum to a halt, then leaning in on that front foot, dragging her back foot as she hooks away to tummy., Midway through, beautiful sequence for Brewster as she catches Spears a lean-away hook on the mouth--Britney freezes up and Jordana victimizes her with a crowd pleasing burst of stiff lefts and rights to either side of the waist. Spears faltering forward, Brewster picks her up with a dipping right uppercut, steps around to let blonde pitch face first into the ropes, Final minute one of the gutsiest of Britney’s career--she’s busted up stunned, seated on the ropes and suffering as Jordana Brewster squares away to treat her shabby. Batting, lathering abuse bestowed--Brewster grinning as her fists shred Britney’s defenses--Spears out on her feet, head snapping sickly, legs refusing to give way. Scored 10-8 Jordana B.

R6: Jordana off her stool with cruel intention, hounds Britney to her corner and initiates a beat down, Spears covered up on the pocket, seeing the incoming, blocking and rolling effectively. Midway through, Spears sliding along the ropes, not doing much effectively, but frustrating the brunette with an air-tight D, changes the bout as the girls trade hooks in close. Brewster’s knees give way--she’s suddenly stricken, staggering--Spears brawny as she packs her girl to the ropes, Spears rough with her palms, shoving and shouldering her girl into position, then digging into the waistband with thick leather. Jordana’s arms out stretched, trying to push Britney off--glassy-eyed as blonde fists take in out of brunette midriff.

R7: Jordana the aggressor again early, trying to measure Britney with the jab as blonde slinks along the ropes, Spears moving he head very well, going into low crouches, coming up with her shoulder in Jordana’s body to jostle the brunette off balance. Second minute, girls get hooking and crossing with tight, elbows-in deliveries--Spears beats Jordana to a shattering series of punches, Brewster’s mouthpiece bashed off her teeth as she gets her face spanked back and forth--she’s swooning! Britney puts her left shoulder hard to Jordana’s chest, getting the brunette toppling backward, hands low and a SWEEPING Spears hook swivels head. Perfect lounging blast through the chin ends Jordana’s night--Brewster sprawling ion her back all knocked out. KO7 Britney Spears.

After: Brewster a long time coming around--when she does, she’s weepy with the realization she left Britney of the hook. Spears digging down, showing heart, pride and savvy to get out of  very difficult circumstances in this fight--5th round about as bas a beating as Britney’s ever suffered and she survived. “That’s exactly what I needed,” a badly worn Brit says in post fight, “up until the 5th round of this fight, I’d been sleepwalking. Jordana woke me up.”
