KO1 Kelly Hu

Sure--most folks felt Hu’s style would be tough for Milano to win rounds against, Yes, Milano entered an underdog, though not as big a dog as might have been expected. Odds were Hu would box well enough to dominate, but not take a single risk to entertain the fans with anything electric. If anything--it was expected that Alyssa would make the fight with her strong, compact, come-forward aggression.

30 seconds in, it was over.

Hu danced and moved to her left, keeping well outside--Alyssa crouching, stepping forward, trying to negotiate range--it seemed the expected game of cat and mouse. Then, both girls made a darting, ducking move inside and Kelly dropped a chopping left hand innocently enough to the ear/jaw as the girls fell together. (Anybody ever see that Debin Thepa guy? That little lead hook on the way in, orthodox in Kelly’s case). When they separated--Alyssa Milano staggered sideways and pitched on her back out cold with a delighted Kelly Hu standing over her hands raised, smile radiant, Smart money bet the over big time in this fight--whoops.
