BBU BOUT: LONDON

After her rather impressive performance against BBU lightweight champion Lisa Maffia, Denise is confident that she can return to somewhere near the form she showed as a much younger celebrity boxer, and she is happy to be facing unbeaten, 22 year old singing star Rochelle, whom she has interviewed on her show, and finds rather cocky. She has vowed to cut the girl down to size.

Rochelle is rather irritated not to have been given a fight against one of the American visitors, and is very keen to show the fans in the arena and those watching on TV exactly what she has to offer.

Denise appears in the ring first, and the blonde still has the ability to turn heads, even at 36, her shapely body clothed in a pink one-piece outfit. She is soon joined by the taller Rochelle, who just looks fantastic in her white bra and panties set

Round 1

The younger Rochelle is quicker to start work in this fight, and she makes good use of her height and reach very early, her rangy jabs finding their target, and Denise is finding it difficult already to get close enough to land any punches. The round progresses with Rochelle keeping the blonde at arm's length, that jab starting to redden the skin around her eyes, and in the closing seconds Rochelle jolts the TV presenter's head back with two solid right hooks as well.

Rochelle wins the opening round.

Round 2

Denise just has to get in closer if she is to land that destructive left hook of hers, but Rochelle is so adept at keeping this fight at a distance, and her left jabs are firm - certainly firm enough to be bruising Denise's cheeks. Every time the blonde tries to move inside that left lead she gets her face pummelled, and by the end of the round, she's backed up against the ropes, her face being popped back and forth with good shots.

Rochelle adds a second round.

Round 3

Rochelle comes out with a more ambitious intent this time, and she has Denise hurt very soon, jabbing her face back with three hard shots, following up with a right hook to the jaw, then a hard straight left, another right hook, and another left - the blonde's taking a beating, and she's down, sat on her butt, taking a count of 7. Denise's cheeks are fairly swollen and bruised now, beginning to close her eyes, but she carries on, with Rochelle smiling, just jabbing away at that battered face.

Round 4

Her corner have worked hard to try to smooth the bruising away from her eyes, but Denise looks a sorry state, and she's soon picking up more punishment as Rochelle looks to finish her off, those jabs now drawing blood from her nose and mouth, and the blonde gets trapped on the ropes. Rochelle now feels she can get in close to Denise, who has surely had any fight knocked out of her, and she rips some solid blows into the older girl's body, Denise just gasping with the pain.

That’s 4 and 0 for Rochelle.

Round 5

Denise is barely out of her corner when Rochelle rips into her face with a barrage of head shots, lefts and rights landing at will, and her knees buckle when she totters backwards, almost seeking the ropes to hold her upright. Rochelle is closing in on her again, but the referee gets between the girls, and it's over.

Rochelle is clearly pleased with herself after this performance, telling Christine Bleakley, "She had no business getting in the ring with me - poor old cow! She can't live with my speed and neither can anyone else in this division - if Maffia's brave enough to fight me, I'll rip that BBU title off her. Maybe you'd like to fight me, then - Irish girls are just so ripe for beating!" Christine grits her teeth and ends the interview.
