BEFORE: "Every gym's got a girl like Piper," Erica sneers in prefight. "All friendly on the outside, but mean-hearted...hurts girls in sparring...always making sure everyone knows she's there...I take great pride in beating girls like Perabo down." Piper upbeat - Cerra a rare match for Perabo in terms of core-strength...blonde girl predicts a bruising match. "We're both very, very similar in approach," Piper acknowledges at podium. "We're both determined to take ground; we both love to fight inside...there's not going to be a whole lot of negotiating in there. It's going to be a real battle of wills and I'm pumped for the challenge!" Piper in pale grey sports bra; navy cheerleader spanky-bottoms; white shoes with socks rolled down for ballistic look; white gloves; blonde hair loose. Erica in black sports bra; scarlet cheerleader spanky bottoms; black shoes with white socks rolled down; red gloves; black hair loose. IN THE AUDIENCE: strong-bodied women like Neve and Britney beaming in their seats - rare chance for them to see girls as stocky-strong as themselves at the weight.

During R1: Piper hopping into Erica with a shoveling right to body: blonde girl backing up brunette via muscular lefts and rights early. Cerra firming, banging back: right hand pounds off blonde jaw - exchange of digging lefts slams into opposing guts. Girls grunting and punching - both lasses turning over that hook short n' tight, bashing it off offending skulls/ribcages. Perabo's high-water mark sees her force Cerra to apron, but Erica slowly regains every foot of lost territory - re-engaging Piper in crashing hammer-and-tongs midring. Down the stretch, Erica clips a sidearm left hook to Piper's chin...blonde girl blinking, momentarily stymied. Erica reloads, turns over another crashing sidearm hook to Piper's chin, knocking back Perabo's head, buckling her knees and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Piper folding to her left, sprawling onto her back...Cerra bellowing down hot; batting mitts together as Piper sits up blinking in astonishment. Real stunned disbelief in Perabo's eyes: off her feet in the first heat!

R2: Cerra aggressively at Piper, reaching under blonde arms to ragdoll her ropeside...brunette all over blonde at the open. Piper shoved and jostled, trying to get her hands up: Cerra bodying up/pushing off, then hooking the HELL out of Piper's waist/liver. BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Vicious shove-and-slug body shots drops Piper to all fours...she's gasping, cringing, desperately hurt to the bodkin! Cerra seething, dark eyes blazing...she's pacing the neutral corner as Piper rallies off the deck. Erica wades back in and BOOMS away to gut: rich, thick rights and lefts slam into Piper's midsection - Erica just popping hips side to side, heaving home the harm underneath. Perabo punched up into ropes, face pinched in agony...she's getting jacked up! Final minute - Piper brawling desperately for survival...she's turning over short, brawny hooks in trade with Erica - both girls ringing each other up to chin. Perabo stabilizing - beating Cerra to punches down the stretch, to gain a little breathing room at bell. Chests heaving, faces and tanned bodies pinking up nicely...Cerra favouring Piper with blistering eye contact as brunette turns away from blonde at ropes. Perabo blinking, visibly rocked by the effect of Cerra's punching power through 2.

R3: Girls close, elbows in tight to ribs/hands up at chins - heads and guards clash together as the slugfest renews. Both girls just heaving in hurt - bending knees and thrusting home right hands to body; twisting torso-right to haul in the hooks...gloves bouncing loud off meaty torsos in brutal give and take. Cerra gradually forcing Piper back - bouncing hooks off blonde hairline; shoveling in right hands behind left elbow...Perabo hits ropes in dying moments, once again covering up to take a baseball-whacking to either flank at bell. Erica bodies up after the fact, making Perabo take weight: Cerra pushing up off blonde girl all "I'm big" through 3.

R4: Bit of a stubby jab from Piper - she's knocking at Erica on the way in, keeping Cerra covered up - blonde girl stuffing home the right hand to paunch after winning initiative. Forehead-grinding, shoulder bumping...girls rubbing off each other midring - dipping side to side for shoveling body shots from either hand...thick, thudding stuff has Neve and Brit roaring/clapping. Piper gradually hammering her way forward, finally imposing will: Cerra's back touches ropes for first time late, forcing her to cover up earmuff. Perabo completes work on Cerra's right-side ribs, reefing hooks behind Erica's right elbow to buckle her knees at bell. Piper's turn to body up/push off...blonde girl showing some sass as brunette smolders in hurt.

R5: Cerra won't have it: she pounds away clubbing lefts and rights to halt the Perabo rally...blonde girl hammered onto her heels, forced into grimacing ear-muff. Ropes: Erica bodying Piper brawny - reaching under blonde arms - ragdolling her into cables...crowd oohing and ahhing at the sheer stocky strength of Cerra in the clinch. Shoveling beatdown issued - Cerra on Perabo: brunette using that left shoulder/extended left elbow to nude and bump. Cerra bobbing on the spot, coming under Piper's chin with top-of-head, keeping Perabo upright for body shots. Erica dishing out CHUP! CHUP! lefts and rights to tummy - short, rolling shots, just cuffing at sturdy blonde paunch. Piper grumpy in the pocket, unable to push or punch her way out: Cerra systematically bashing away on blonde arms/body, suppressing Piper. Bell: Erica with blazing eye contact, lips curling off teeth...brunette SO aggressive with her blonde through 5.

R6: Toe-to-toe slugging midring, heads and shoulders clashing as fighters bump, dip side to side, fit each other for stiff cuff-n'-clout. Short, clubbing wallops back and forth, but it's Cerra pushing her way forward...Piper's proud legs simply unable to hold canvas against Erica. Fight drifts to ropes...Cerra pounding out a steady rhythm - grinding on Piper with forehead/shoulder/chickenwing left elbow, working the paunch via cuffing CHUP! CHUP! right/lefts; working hooks wide behind Piper's right elbow. Perabo's output low...she's grumpy behind her gloves - sturdy body under constant bashing attack...blonde legs proving stubborn, sponging up the punishment, but Piper's just not answering back enough to keep Erica off. Bell: more furious eye contact from Cerra...Piper wincing/frowning in response.

R7: Piper stubby-jabbing, knocking at Erica's head and shoulders. Piper sidestepping left, turning Erica's right shoulder...Cerra shifting position, not punching. Hooks from Piper dig behind brunette right elbow...blonde getting into a hard-punching rhythm - gradually mixing in straight, pounding right hands to Erica's face up the middle. Cerra baffled - Piper's turning her, touching her, keeping her defensive. Down the stretch, Piper dipping in close, shoving the short left uppercut between Cerra's mitts to chin; digging left hook to liver; right uppercut bangs back Cerra's head; SHORT left hook clouts Cerra's mouth to put her wobbly butt, staring at bell. FURIOUS eye contact blonde to brunette...it's Piper's best round through 7 slammin' heats!

R8: Same again - Piper incorporating the stubby jab to set the table; pivoting clockwise for an angle; getting hooks off the jab, dropping right hands and cleaning up in combination. Cerra turning, taking: brunette bull-strong in her earmuff, absorbing punishment on both arms/flanks...she's got no answer for Piper's lateral movement. Perabo methodical - not always penetrating Cerra's brawny blocking guard, but staying busy on her, always touching her, placing some good tuff hooks in her body. Goes as another Perabo shutout as Cerra starts to lump up grumpy through 8.

R9: Short right uppercut rocks Perabo early...Cerra establishing grinding position inside, rubbing heads and shoulders as girls fight in the trenches. Piper recovers, bangs back...OH she's feeding Cerra tuff right hands amidships, then clobbering her hooks in tight. Cerra right back with the same slamming mayhem - short, muscular punches bashing off skull/shoulders/ribs as girls bump and grind for supremacy. Cerra gradually stepping Piper to ropes - brunette feeding blonde a steady diet of stubby uppercuts from either hand, punching Perabo sleepy. Blonde girl fighting off the ropes late, mouth open, lashes batting: Cerra dipping side to side, pulling blockbuster lefts and rights across Perabo's front in bashing fashion. Bell: Girls still clobbering away - ref risks life and limb to jump in.

R10: Girls step-to, fight...nothing could be more honest. Piper wedging her left shoulder into Cerra's chest, fitting Erica for hooks and choppy right hands in close. Cerra pushing-in in like fashion, answering back short n' brawny - bumping and bashing on Piper as girls slug away mindless. Sleepy aspect to both faces - mouths open moist on either tanned shoulder...they're just in there working, trying to be the last girl standing. Fight staggers around as girls push and punch - occasional clinching breaks itself up without ref intervention as both fighters want to work. Piper ahead at the bell, stepping her way forward, bouncing her fists off Erica-meat as Cerra starts to wilt. Perabo hammers out the 10th, but drops the duke...that's UD10 Erica Cerra!

AFter: Bit of an upset for the casual fan, though boxing insiders not too surprised...Cerra's one tough cookie in a shoulder-to-shoulder slugfest. Erica shouting "YES!" when her name's announced: Perabo shellshocked, beaten for the first time in 2011, bruised from hip to head. "I told you I'd back her up and break her down," Erica crows in postfight. "I bully gym-bullies, you know - and Piper's a gym-bully, so I took it to her. I give her credit for not quitting early, 'cause I was hitting her with freight train hooks, but either way - early or late - I knew I'd be the better woman!"
