HARD SPARRING AT LOOKOUT

(First - for you stats guys out there - yes, these are dice driven results, but no - they are not "fights" per-se and DO NOT effect the girls' records. Sparring can be hard and competitive, but we shouldn't think of it as being the same as a true prize-fight.)

Love 'em or hate 'em, the Lookout gym has some of the best in-house sparring in the business. I've just been forwarded some bootleg footage of HILARY DUFF getting ready for ELISHA CUTHBERT. These appear to be 3 round hard-sparring sets, feating Hilary against LEIGHTON MEESTER and MINKA KELLY.

HILARY DUFF                                                   VS                         MINKA KELLY

Duff: grey deep-V neck t-shirt with tight baby doll sleeves; black gloves; black boy cut spandex shorts; gym-rat ponytail with ringlets framing face.

During R1: No feeling out...Minka pushing forward - Hilary rolling her shoulders to clip tight left/right curling uppercuts to Kelly's chin...Mink slugged off balance, looking confused: hook to chin drops her to butt a minute in! Hilary gloating - stoking hard feelings even in sparring - Kelly up fuming. Duff bulling Mink to ropes - left arm snaked under Minka's right: Hilary beating Minka tuff right hands in the body until ref's break. Duff banging back in close - fighting from a slugging crouch - rocking Minka about her head/shoulders - bumping her hard into ropes, then hooking her body thick. Down the stretch, Duff ragdoll-shoving Mink against the ropes - blonde girl treats herself to jug with some close-in puppy-clubbing: tempers flare as trainer whistles the round dead - Minka pushing Hilary and bringing ref in for break.

R2: Mink fighting with a furious little frown - getting after Hilary all around the ring. Interesting detail we don't see in the real fights: Minka southpaw for the most part - touching Hilary a tuff right jab - stepping into her breadbasket via scooping left, and finishing the tight right hook. Mink sidestepping to her right, turning Hilary's left flank - brunette doing a good job keeping Duff midring, forcing champ to bob-and-block.

R3: Mink back in orthodox stance (left foot forward/left hand forward)...she's stepping in strong - leading the straight right hand to sort out Duff's jugs, then clipping across the swift palm-down hook. Hilary straightened up and chin-checked early...champ's wobbly-butt, retreating to ropes in earmuff. Mink with some nice moments attacking Duff at apron: brunette bouncing both hands off Hilary's waist, then shoving into Hilary big-girl to put Duff in ropes. Hilary rung up, but being stubborn: blonde girl digs in, stays compact, slugs back in spots as sparring session devolves into good old-fashioned toe-to-toe slugfest. Trainer whistles session dead...girls baring teeth and slugging their hearts out...ref has to separate little battlers as tempers boil over. Headache for Lookout head trainer as both girls screaming, stamping bare feet and demanding a bout against each other as soon as convenient: pretty competitive gym here as neither girl wants to back down.

Meester in grey t-shirt with the deep-V neck; short black Hooter's cut nylon trunks; black gloves; blonde hair loose.

During R1: Leighton making it look easy early...jab-jab-jab...circle-step left...check right uppercut greeting Hilary as Duff weaves in low; pair of stubby jabs spanking Hilary's tits as Leighton sidesteps left. Duff with dukes at cheeks - weaving forward in slugger's crouch, but getting pre-empted and evaded. Hilary frustrated with Leighton's sleek style...impatient Duff walking into a swift one/two on the face late: champ goes wobbly-butt, looking confused as Leighton calmly hooks jug at bell. Hilary blushing crimson in the break, shouting at Meester: "No jug-mugging!"
Leighton: "Slipped." Shrug; turn-away; smirking with her back turned to Duff!

R2: Leighton continues to fight an up-tempo, slick style here - touching Duff the jab, sidestepping her, stepping out on her to create gaps, walking her into tattooing combinations. Minute mark, Leighton lights Hilary up again: one-two straight up the middle has Hilary startled: extra left hook bites at Hilary's middle, bunching her up as Leighton's making her escape. Duff in crouching pursuit, but finding it hard to cut off the ring...Leighton Meester looking damn sharp - almost SARAH CARTER sharp through 2.

R3: Duff scooting in, using the stubby-jab: champ finally able to drive Leighton back and get to her chest. Meester wrestling Duff inside - arms wriggling - faces rubbing - shoulders bumping...bull-strong little champ forces Leighton to ropes. Leighton continues to fight it out inside - right uppercuts/left hooks out of a tight earmuff guard...Duff in crossed-arm - bobbing low under Leighton's chin, rolling right/left hup-hup against Leighton's gut. Girls just in there working - time winding down...Hilary touches the gut that cuffing right/left, then ROARING up top the left hook to chin: CRASHING whack toggles Leighton's head side to side and MEESTER SITS DOWN! Leighton ROCKED, but pulling herself up ropes and nodding she's ok...trainer whistles it dead right there. Duff glaring at Meester - Leighton giving it right back: Meester probably just as willing to have a go at Hilary in the future, regardless of Duff's heavy hands.
