This is a comeback fight for both of these ‘girls’. Geri is 38, has only fought twice in FCBA since 2005 and she’s pretty much going into the seniors, even though she’s as fit as ever. Alyson is 37, and hasn’t fought since 2008, when three defeats in a row seemed to end her career. She’s just signed to RiRy for 3 fights, but will be looking for more, and is happy to be matched up with a shorter girl in her PPV re-entry.

The girls take to the ring simultaneously – Geri in a silver bikini, and Alyson in a blue leotard. The girls wear their hair loose, and both are looking keen to get to it.

Round 1

The girls circle each other to start, with Alyson, snapping out a couple of hopeful jabs, stepping in close, and, oh, no, Geri rips a right hand up from her hip straight into the actress’s jaw, and floors her! One punch and Hannigan’s return is in tatters – crawling around and up at 8, hurt already. Hannigan recovers well, using her ringcraft to keep vicious little Geri at bay, and she spoils and clinches pretty much the rest of the round, recovering by the end to clip the Brit with a couple of jabs.

Round 2

Hannigan uses her superior skills to outbox Geri early in the second – she’s recovered from that knockdown, and her speed around the ring, allied to her height and reach is making her a difficult target for the puncher that is Geri Halliwell. Alyson is a far better boxer than Geri, and she turns her girl around, smacking her about with her jab, keeping the singer well at bay.

Round 3

There’s little change in the tide here as Alyson continues to give redfaced Geri a boxing lesson, cuffing the singer’s face whenever she feels like it, her reach making it difficult for Geri to land anything worthwhile. The round comes to a close with Alyson just picking Geri off, her jabs beginning to annoy the singer, even though they don’t really have the power to hurt.

Round 4

Alyson starts the round well, boxing, jabbing and moving, scoring plenty of points with those accurate jabs, but never hurting the singer, who just scowls back at her. Geri needs to fight the actress up close, and she slides inside that reach, ignoring the stings as the jabs land, then jus bangs away to Hannigan's flanks, regaining the initiative, and beginning to break the actress down.

Round 5

Maybe Alyson’s tiring, but she drops the sick and move tactics, and enters into two way action for the first time. This is stirring stuff as Hannigan lets her hair down, and she starts trading toe-to-toe with the little popsinger. Both girls score and get rocked in turn, but Hannigan's drilling Geri stiff lefts and rights at the bell to take a close round, with the Brit shocked to have received quite such a battering.

Round 6

Now Alyson is taking control of the fight against her smaller opponent, using her height and reach to keep the girl at bay, she then slows the tempo, gets back to her jab, batting Geri’s reddening face, actually hurting her now. Alyson’s almost casually circling Geri, hooking off the jab to work the Brit’s ribs and famous jugs, starting to dominate her, and taking another round.

Round 7

After getting a lecture from Liz Hurley in her corner, Geri ups the tempo, typically showing no finesse, just pitching from her hips and spooking Hannigan out of her stance. Alyson gets batted about a fair bit in this round as Geri storms into her, looking to see if the actress really wants to be back in the ring at all, dominating her in sheer aggression.

Round 8

Now a rampant Geri continues to get after Alyson. Hannigan is able to step away and make Geri miss a lot, but the singer’s blazing offence and aggression basically discourage Alyson from punching. For the first time since that first punch knockdown, Alyson shows real signs of being the victim here, getting hurt over and over as geri’s slinging hooks from the hip rip into her, those boxing skills redundant if they aren’t backed with power.

Round 9

Bruised and bleeding, Hannigan starts the round well, boxing Geri and making her look like the slugger she is, hitting the singer from a all angles. Alyson is looking really impressive here, landing those jabs again and again, smacking the little singer around with following hooks and crosses, too – she’s working the Spice Girl over, but she just doesn’t have the power – Halliwell remains unhurt, but her attempts to get at the actress are ineffective as Alyson's being first to the punch every time.

Round 10

Alyson takes deep breaths as she comes back out – she needs a big round, and she quickly pings Geri’s face with two, three jabs. Sadly for her, she lets Geri get in close, takes a drops Hannigan early - spends the rest short right to the jaw, and she’s down. again – bangs her head on the canvas, too, but still gets up at a count of 8. Hannigan’s eyes are glazing as the referee looks closely at her, but he lets the fight go on. Geri senses victory over the actress, and she spends the remainder of the round chasing Alyson, with the poor girl deeply discouraged, no longer believing she can win, just running the clock to survive the round.

No surprise with the result – Geri Halliwell gets a UD10 over Alyson Hannigan
