Before: It's a big day for Jenifer Lawrence as she makes her much-awaited debut. Jennifer appears to be a little bit embarrassed by all the attention she's gotten so far, but is eager to make the most of it against Abbie Cornish. Abbie seems to a little frustrated by all of the hype that Lawrence has received so far, “I don't recall getting this kind of attention when I started. I don't even see what all the fuss is about. She's just another Hollywood “It” girl, nominated for an award or two. But, that won't mean much once she's in the ring and once I take her out cold.” Jennifer Lawrence just smiles, dismissive of the hype and Abbie's comments, “Any interest surrounding me shouldn't say anything about Abbie, but more about me. Having said that, I plan to be more than just a typical Hollywood “it” girl in the ring. And that starts today!” There is some simmering tension between the two pre-fight, mostly from Cornish's camp but by the time they both get into the ring, both have that steely gaze of determination in their eyes. Lawrence wearing a white sports bra and matching shorts, hair in a ponytail. Cornish is wearing a black bra and red shorts, hair also in a ponytail.

R1: Both girls come out swinging, but not necessarily dancing around the ring. It's obvious that the sparring with Missy and Yvonne have paid off as Jennifer appears to possess good balance and footwork. Both of their movements are very economical, conserving their energy and making the most of their movements. Abbie has her moments, but J-Law outworks Cornish this round. Throughout the round, Jennifer continues to back Abbie up and deliver several shots to the body that has Abbie dazed. Abbie tries to clinch a few times, but Jennifer works her back each time. Round 1 goes to Jennifer Lawrence as a frustrated Abbie Cornish glares from her corner.

R2: The results of round one don't deter Abbie for even a moment as they both spring from their respective corners to exhibit some great back and forth action. Both girls fight right in front of each other, both of them very busy as they take turns cutting off each others avenues of retreat and taking turns pounding at one another. Jennifer clinches at the end of this round, but Abbie pushes her back. Ref having them separate, with some difficulty. Abbie is a little bit busier this round and the judges award Round 2 to Abbie Cornish.

R3: Jennifer listens to her trainer during the break, coming out resolute and determined. Jennifer works the jab as both girls go toe to toe. Jennifer turns it around this round as they once again go toe-to-toe. It's another excellent back and forth round as both girls girls taking turns covering up, then alternately going to the body. Jennifer using a steady jab, pumping the jab forward methodically as it pays off down the stretch. Lawrence breaks down Cornish's guard as she drops her guard for a moment, then Jennifer takes advantage. Jennifer lands hard body and head shots, which forces Abbie to ropes. Abbie is ROCKED! Cornish wobbly butt, but she is supported by her strong and curvy legs hold her up. Jen is pulled off as the Judges award round 3 to Jennifer Lawrence.

R4: Jennifer comes out a little confident in round 4, while Abbie uses her experience to adjust to the mistakes of the previous round. Both of them continuing to circle around the ring, just sidestepping around one another. Neither of them retreating or running around the ring, just stepping into good spots for attack but throughout the round, it's Cornish who is just a little quicker. Cornish moves first, then as Lawrence covers up, Abbie delivers hard shots to the body. Jennifer gets off a few shots to Cornish's body, but Cornish gets the better of this round and round 4 goes to Abbie Cornish. It's hotly contested at 2 rounds apiece.

R5: Cornish comes out intent at continuing the moment of the previous round as she begins to exploit some flaws in the debut form of Lawrence. Lawrence is covering up too often, trying to absorb the punishment and wait her turn, but Abbie doesn't plan on letting her have a turn. That's a definite tendency that'll have to be addressed. Cornish stays in control with a strong jab, then just following up with some powerful combos to the body. It's all Abbie this round with Lawrence being hurt early in this round but shows a lot of good durability in taking Cornish's combos and absorbing Abbie's best shot here.. Cornish is awarded round 5 and the lead, 3 rounds to 2.

R6: Another round and another methodical display by Cornish. Cornish just displaying fundamental boxing, applying professional pressure to Lawrence. Lawrence is unhurt, at least physically. Lawrence is obviously frustrated as she finds herself waiting too much, allowing herself to be turned on the spot as she tries to keep delivering blows to Cornish. Finding a few spots throughout the round, but time and time again, it's Cornish who shows the poise needed to win the round as Cornish takes round 6 as well.

R7: Jen comes out focused in this round, having a discussion with her trainers in between rounds as Lawrence fires out hard, landing brutal shots to Abbie's body. Cornish responding in turn, with the first two minutes dominated by just hard hitting action between the two. Lawrence seems to get the better of the exchange, driving Abbie back towards the ropes. Lawrence continuing with a steady, workmanlike jab but Cornish doesn't stop fighting. Down the stretch, Abbie manages to clip Lawrence's chin with an uppercut that manages to sneak past Lawrence's guard. Head snapping backwards as it's Lawrence's turn to go wobbly butt, but her own curvy legs manage to keep her upwards as she is forced backwards but survives the round. Abbie Cornish takes the round late to take the 7th round and seemingly control of this contest.

R8: Jennifer shows a tremendous amount of durability as she survived what could've been a disaster in the 7th round, coming out very strong in the 8th round. Abbie comes out firing with her steady jab, but Lawrence will have none of it. Bodying up with Cornish as she bullies her back to the ropes, delivering hooks to the body as Cornish is forced to cover up. Lawrence returns the favor from the last round, clipping Cornish with an uppercut underneath the chin as Cornish. Abbie appears unprepared as she is sent sprawling to her butt. Landing down against the canvas as Lawrence scores the first knockdown of the contest! Abbie displaying her own resilience as she manages to beat the count, immediately scrambling to the ropes for support. Abbie covers up as Lawrence GOES TO TOWN! Lawrence delivering hard shots to the body that Cornish absorbs, stumbling along the ropes, obviously hurt but doesn't quit at all. Lawrence takes this round with an early knockdown of Cornish. Round 8 goes to Lawrence. Is a comeback on its way?

R9: Cornish seem to smother out hopes of a comeback in the following round by displaying the same level of experience to control Lawrence in her rookie debut. Cornish keeps jabbing as Lawrence is turned midring, touching and hooking repeatedly at Lawrence's body. Every time Lawrence appears to get a little momentum, Cornish clinches to control the pace and bodies her backwards. Lawrence is one frustrated blonde by the end of this round, unable to capitalize on her performance from the previous round. Lawrence lands a few shots to the body throughout, but Cornish just a little more poised and able to take round 9.

R10: It might not be the most exciting round in boxing, but slow and steady wins the race for Cornish. Cornish comes out strong and gets out strong, continuing to jab at Lawrence. Lawrence displays some ring savvy and good footwork, able to get in some hard shots to the body that wind Cornish. However, Lawrence isn't quite busy enough as she simply doesn't cut the ring off or jab nearly as much as she needs to. Neither side lands big shots throughout this round, but the again, Cornish doesn't have to. Lawrence is aggressive, but not enough. Lawrence ends up dropping the round and the fight UD10 Cornish.

After: A good debut from Jennifer Lawrence, displaying a good foundation for future matches and some durability in fighting back in the 8th round but Cornish just a little more balance and versatile at this stage of her career. Some more time in the gym making some adjustments in her stance and skills, then Ms. Lawrence should be back in the ring for more FCBA action sooner rather than later.

After the match, Lawrence is sitting in her corner when Cornish walks over. Peregrym watching warily as she wonders whether a walk-of-shame is upcoming. Possibly preparing to intervene, but instead, Abbie extends her hands for a handshake and congratulates Jennifer on a good match. The two of them talking a bit after the match as Abbie talks about her debut match with Milla Jovovich and the walk-of-shame she endured at her hands and how she wouldn't do that to Lawrence. A rare showing of blonde solidarity between the two.

Abbie is a little more gracious post-match than she was pre-match, “She's got some skills and some definite potential, but she's not there yet. Not quite your typical Hollywood It-Girl but still, I don't know what the fuss was all about.” Lawrence and Cornish talk for a few minutes after the match, leaving with some respect for one another but underneath that, a healthy rivalry has been born.
