BEFORE: Gena mixing it up a bit in prefight - pushing and shoving with Amanda, being belligerent...Nolin going all out to get inside the kid's head. "She's getting nicked and banged up," Gena explains, "she's vulnerable, and I can see the ragged edges of her game becoming exposed. A veteran like me can exploit Amanda Righetti. She's not super-woman: she's coming in here to get her butt kicked, and that's all there is to it!" Righetti cool in rebuttal - trying to avoid Gena's invitations to wallow in snark. "Look - Gena a great champion," Amanda admits at podium. "She's still a force...but Gena Lee Nolin is old. I'm sorry, but that body has been through the absolute wringer, and asking it to go toe to toe with me is just asking too much. I'm not here to diminish Gena, or humiliate her, or anything like that. I AM here to beat her down and take back those belts - I'll leave the trash talk to her." Gena in yellow sport top; black sport bikini bottoms; black mitts; yellow ponytail with wavy bangs framing temples. Amanda in purple sport top; black sport bikini bottoms; black gloves; hair smoothed back into long low ponytail.

During R1: Gena in off the jab, carrying a thumping right hand to the Righetti gut: Amanda short-jabbing Gena's tits in close, then hooking them hard, then BOTH women fire off close-in, jagged uppercuts. Furious bump-and-slug - Gena competing for canvas here, trying to answer every punch...fighters pounding away on unyielding waists; chucking shoulders like extra fists; bashing away head-and-shoulders via short-clubbing lefts and rights. Down the stretch, Amanda rips a vicious hook to Gena's midsection; slams a right to Gena's jaw; hooks her a pair of left hands to chin and GENA STEPS BACK HURT! Nolin buzzed, eases herself down to right knee rather than engage Amanda further: blistering first round sees a brave blonde on bended knee at bell.

R2: Amanda dukes chin-high, elbows in...she's walking Gena down early - cutting off the ring - poking out straight lefts and rights to make contact. Gena circling to her right, frowning, bringing the jab off her hip to probe Amanda's tummy or head: Righetti parrying the shots up top with little moves from either hand bumping Gena's fist off target. Midway through, Nolin steps in strong, carrying a right to Amanda's firm breadbasket: blonde girl stays inside, wraps up around redhead waist, muscling Amanda into ropes. Left arm still wrapped around Amanda's back, G starts chucking in righty - big, pumping blows slamming into the Righetti groin, sitting her in ropes, her face pinched in agony. Gena crowding close, energetically pouring in the hurt downstairs - her left hand cupping at Amanda's right shoulder for balance. Righetti able to clinch, bringing in the ref: Gena hooks-on-the-break, clouting Amanda's mouth, startling her back into ropes. G wades back in strong: head-butting Amanda's chin for position - whaling away at tummy both hands strong...Nolin just leaning forward and slamming away brawny as redhead wilts. Righetti clinching, groaning, grimacing...Amanda feeling it from Gena as champ keeps the pressure up bell to bell. Extra left hook in the tits as Gena's pushing up off her challenger late: Nolin snarling, forcing ref to physically push her away as Amanda's all scuffed and disheveled through 2.

R3: Gena turns all professional - pivoting around that lead (left) leg in clockwise turns, slamming out the jab from dukes-up posture. Amanda showing dukes-at-chin outside - slipping side to side, but catching a fair amount of poke on her face...Gena really pounding home the poke here. Amanda jabbing back; both women exchanging short right hands off the poke...good orthodox boxing technique from distance. Nolin a little more accurate, more consistent - she's lumping Righetti up through 3 - Amanda still looking a little leg-weary from those second round low-blows.

R4: Turning battle midring - girls outside, hands up/elbows in, trading jabs, leaning into short right hands. Amanda just beating down Gena's punches, hammering champion about her head and shoulders...by the minute mark, Nolin's on the defensive, blocking and parrying with a concerned expression. Latter half the round, Amanda complements the one-two with rousing hooks clawed across Gena's ribs...blonde giving ground with a grimace, but still leggy enough to stay off ropes.

R5: Amanda steely-eyed, looking to impose will...she encounters fierce resistance midring as Gena puts a shoulder into redhead chest and shoves right hands to body early. Righetti determined and stubborn - throwing HER left shoulder into Gena and digging in righty...spirited, muscular stuff midring as two big women slam away in a phone booth. Nolin grudgingly giving ground...Righetti working the midsection/ribs with hooks and right hands both, starting to put a cranky expression on older blonde's face. Gena eventually pushed into ropes...fighters clash raised guards together, rubbing and scrubbing in tight as Amanda salts away the round via tight, stuffing rights and lefts to the Nolin breadbasket at bell.

R6: Gena slugging midring, lips curled off her teeth as she bounces vicious rights and lefts off Amanda's head-and-shoulders: redhead showing earmuff, rolling in the pocket as she wades in. Righetti buffetted, but strong legs hold her course: she's soon answering back via dip-n'-dig short lefts and rights to ribcage - bashing away at Gena's core as blonde girl slows down. Shoulder to shoulder hooking amidships sees Amanda step Nolin up...blonde hits ropes with a slightly dazed look, clinching for ref's break. Amanda pushed back by official, but wading immediately in...redhead with dukes curled into her cheeks, elbows in as she bobs at the waist, hunting for the Nolin torso via rising, vicious lefts and rights. Gena's legs give a shimmy - she's blurting in pain, desperately tying up behind Righetti's elbows...Amanda pouring on insane pressure now - stepping back as the ref issues breaks, then wading back into Gena with force. Bell: Amanda pushes up of Gena all big-girl...Nolin complaining about the extra weight to ref - like it's akin to a late hit or something.

R7: Amanda curls fists into cheeks, keeps elbows in...she's wading into Gena with the relentless rhythm of the tide. Nolin gritting teeth, showing championship determination: she'll clash her raised guard against Amanda's front; dig righty to Amanda's gut; scrape uppercuts against Righetti's forearms. Righetti pushing-guard as well; scrubbing foreheads; jamming away brawny to body...redhead loving the constant grinding contact, using up a bit more Gena in every exchange. Nolin executes a gradual fighting retreat to ropes - walking Righetti into firm, short uppercuts, but it's redhead atop blonde at ropes for final minute. Amanda bashing away stout - bringing mitts back to her cheeks to reset, moving her head in bobbing action, managing Gena with left shoulder and chickenwing left elbow. Consummate shove-n'-slug takes it's toll: champ's mouth wide open as she's beaten savagely at ropes to bell.

R8: Can't question the compete in Gena: she bares her teeth, loops in right hand haymakers and engages midring as Righetti's wading in. Redhead in tight configuration - bobbing on the spot, her left foot forward...she's rolling out of the bob to her left, getting wicked angles for ripping hooks in behind Gena's right elbow. Nolin wincing from these shots, eventually forced to circle to her left: blunt straight right slams her in the mouth, driving her ragdoll into ropes. Amanda wades in bobbing and weaving...she's in rhythm now, bobbing low under Gena's chin, then scraping the blonde upright with either shoulder, exposing the midsection to punishment. Amanda so methodical with Gena - pulverizing the belly; creeping barrage moving to ribs and flanks, slumping Nolin breathless in ropes. By the final minute, Gena's too crippled to punch - just desperately seeking to tie up around Amanda head or elbows. Ref pushing Righetti's beefiness back...redhead's eyes SO focussed on her blonde...Nolin blinking, battered, but refusing to give Amanda satisfaction. Round ends to the sight of Gena sitting in ropes, elbows pressed tight to her body, hands in earmuff as she stoops forward and absorbs some of the most hellacious punishment she's ever taken to arms/flanks. Bell: Amanda's got a right hand prepped and ready to slam in above Gena's left hip...redhead pushes blonde in her shoulders instead, lip curled in contempt.

R9: Gena Lee Nolin battered, exhausted, but when asked if she's had enough, she waves the official off: she wants more Righetti. Amanda's form as crisp in the 9th as it was in the first: she's quickly atop Gena with stiff jabs while keeping right tight to cheek...Righetti never careless in execution regardless of round or situation. Ripping hooks behind right elbow buckle Gena's knees...she retreats into ropes for support, hunkers down for another beating. Righettin on Nolin: redhead ramming her raised forearms into Gena's shoulders to prop; dipping left to fit left hooks into Nolin's ribs; curling left hand over top Gena's head to pull it down while right hand slams in behind left elbow. Nolin gritty in defence, keeping her guard together, issuing clinches, but she's a battered vixen in these minutes. Righetti so strong, so relentless...all Gena can do is survive and hang on to bell.

R10: Nolin again refuses ref and trainer both...she's all busted up, crippled in her body, legs shabby, but she rises from her stool a champion to meet her fate. Righetti wading in, right hand at cheek while shelling Gena jabs...blonde poked to ropes where she forms groggy earmuff. Righetti methodical as always - bracing Gena with a left forearm across the blonde guard, then whacking her vicious right/lefts across the waist. Nolin sleepy now, lips parted...she's just absorbing, proud legs determined to deny Righetti the knockout. Bell to bell Amanda - she's just pushing and bracing on Gena, propping her up, then painting on the shellack...vicious bell to bell beatdown takes the 10th, but can't break Gena's will as champ goes the route. Comes back UD10 for the winner and NEW welterweight champ - Amanda Righetti!

After: "She made me earn it," a scuffed up Amanda Righetti says in postfight - left eye puffy, ribs pink. "People like to say Gena's got no heart, or she's a coward - but those people don't know boxing, and they don't know women. She worked me cheap in this fight, and I'm not happy about that, but I respect the defence this woman put up. Gena Lee knows I'm coming to take away everything she's got, and she's not giving up ANY of it for free. I broke out the baseball bat in the last three rounds - searched Gena Lee high and low for quit, and I couldn't find a trace of it in her. That's probably the best fight she's put up against me so far, and that's more fight than 90% of these other girls could have offered!"
