Before: Hard feelings aplenty in the aftermath of the previous draw and resulting post-match brawl--girls are kept separated during prefight functions. Charlize Theron dons a headset for this one: "TYhis is a great fight. Liz is the most accomplished defensive fighter in the division. Jeri;s astrong right-handed puncher--it's a perfect style contrast, I think both are underestimating the other a little bit. Liz can crack a bit better than some thinkl, especially if she gets you out of position or walks you into something. And Jeri's not a robot--gorl can box, She doesn't pose a real challenge to, say, me--but Liz has got to be careful of Ryan's short right cross. She sneaks it in there the way Lynda Carter used to, but obviously about twice as hard. I'm hoping for a Hurley win but I have too much respect for Jeri to pick against her outright. Let's just say the best woman will take it tonight." Jeri in red tankini, Liz in yellow sport bikin, white bordering.

During R1: Jeri's made adjustments. Strong, long jabs and jab flurries--she'll punch Liz's right shoulder, stick her to the chest, anything to keep her at range. Jeri's stepping left, keeping her lead foot outside the southpaw's, getting an angle for that slamming right. Hurley with the left up at her chin, right hand low, sliding and slipping, but can't get off--she's in retreat, just trying to keep her back off the ropes. Final minute: Jeri with a flicking jab short of the face, a stern jab square between the breasts and a cracking RIGHT hand on the jaw--head swivel Hurley and LIZ GOES DOWN! Liz scooting to a seat--soaks up a blockbuster on her chin and does well to beat the 8. Hurley at the ropes, setting up cute, closed stance, slipping and rolling. Ryan staying calm, jabbing to get Liz committed, seeking to place the right hand and doing terrific lashing work to the brunette's ribcage. Hurley huffing and puffing, looking sore--she ducks low to her left under a brace of Ryan jabs--Jeri jams the right hand straight into the right ear and drops an off balance Hurley to all fours! Liz up and shaken, staring at the bell--Ryan business as she struts back to her corner with a huge 10-7 first.

R2: Liz coming back strong. Right jab dropping down hammer style, patting Jeri, then stinging her as Hurley changes up speeds. Hurley stepping to her right, bats down on Ryan's left with jab, slings the left cross in and RYAN'S HURT! Jeri reeling back on her hips, legs noodling--she gets it together to cover up as Hurley hops in. Liz keeping her head close, going at the waist with a vicious stroking right hook, then straightening to work the jugs with the right uppercut. Ryan showing her strength, standing her ground as she deals with the fog, then slugging back, keeping her punches short, working the body more consistently than she did in the first fighyt. tround to Liz--frosty glare between the combatants as the ref separates 'em.

R3: Liz with that pesky Camacho jab look, dropping it onto Jeri, shifting to the right, fits that straight left hand repeatedly into blonde's bulging jugs with malice. Seconf minute: Ryan's had enough, rocking Liz with a sudden burst of hooks across the waist, then twisting her hips into that short right bhand, spanking back face and DROPPING HURLEY TO HER BACKSIDE! Liz seated in shock, staring up at Jeri--she's not seeing these punches, they're catching her flush, and putting her down. Hurley up stiffly for 8--she's purely defensive at the ropes as Jeri latehrs her down to close out the round.

R4: Jeri proves she can box outside with Liz. Ramrod jabs, doubled up often enough to keep Liz from timing it, keep the brunette in check, Straight, stamping rights back Hurley up, pin her to the perimeter. Strong, batting body work very effective--punches adding up in Liz's strong legs and tender ribcage, wearing her out as she dips and ducks against the ropes. Liz able to swat Jeri's face with the odd counter shot as she bends side to side, but Ryan's unmoved, determined to keep the pressure on.

R5: Jeri can do it midring, but Liz is the boss, Hurley gets crafty, low southpaw crouch, coming up under Ryan's jab to clinch rather than counter, blonde's rhythm gets broken up by stop-and-go., Pesky righty jabs, bewildering little feints--Liz freezing Ryan long enough to lick her stomach that right hook, or cuff her ear, Ryan stepping out, using her legs more than she did in the first--when she's losing a round, she's not loosing it big at least, refusing to hang around for a beating.

R6: Liz outboxing Jeri once again, Fight rotating gently counterclockwise--Hurley winning the battle of foot position, jabs and ring generalship by keeping her back off the ropes. Jeri with the low left, elbow protecting her midriff--Hurley working the left eye now with jabs and biting hooks. Jeri wiuth a little rock-back does a good job of evading the slinging left cross, but Liz doing yeomen's work with her right, beats more points out of the stauesque blonde.

R7: Liz outboxing Jeri. Ryan coming forward, but she's following Liz, not cutting the ring off. Liz sliding back in good order, swatting Ryan's ear the check-hook, pivoting around the blonde's shoulder. Hurley deliberately and maliciously going to Jeri's jugs: she'll swoop in off a slinging left, double pump the right uppercut from in close, pancaking those babies before spinning off-body to the right. Ryan ducking and covering to no avail--just not busy enough in these rounds--she gets a wake up slao in her corner as her trainer wants her to "get rough".

R8: Jeri rssuming nher telephone pole jabbing, has Hurley backing away. Ryan with the decoy face jab, a thumper between the breasts sets up her first mean right in ages, bashing Liz's head to the side and putting brunette wobbly butt! Hurley hurt, gets supple--bending at the waist, pivoting around her right shoulder, movcing her head. Ryan too smart to head hunt--she stays focused on the ribcage--long, batting strokes from either side--Hurley visibly wearing down as Jeri hounds her across the ring. Final minute--Hurley wilting to the ropes, turning her shoulders t close up either side, trying to fit the wide slinging counter onto Jeri's jaw, but Ryan's not having it. Ryan machine-like--jamming away with stubby lefts and rights straight from the shoulder, pounds into Liz's face and breasts with Gatling gun impact. Hurley sagging against the ropes, hands up high, in front of her face--she's helpless as Ryan's gloves bash away at the bell.

R9: Liz shakes it off again, still trying to win this fight. Ryan starting to wince, buckle slightly whenever Hurley bites into those tender abs the hook--Hurley seeing it, bending into left crosses to the body as well. Consistent, brutal jug muggage--Hurley standing up into thumping left and right uppercuts whenever the girls get close. It's effective: Ryan not answeering back, looking shiny and hurt as Hurley helps herself. Good brunette round to to come back from abeating--she bumps shoulders with a hurting Ryan en route to corners.

R10: Liz Hurley outboxes Jeri Ryan. Midring, Ryan back to the single jab and Hurley's able to time it, stroke away hooks underneath, fit the left cross inside it--Ryan walking forward, starting to take tough punishment, Blonde up to it--she doesn;t appear rattled as she steps forward--bounces a few B right hands off Liz's mouth to let her know that punch is still out there. Hurley not as committed on offense as a result--she's conytent to turn and slap her foe, staying safety first. At the bell, both girls lift their mitts as security wisely floods the rings. Come back UD10 Jeri Ryan.

After: All even in rounds, but Hurley clealry the more shopworn, hauling herself ip off the canvas 3 times in this fight as Ryan power stroke proves decisive, if not concussive. Liz distraught, hurts her to see Jeri lively and bubbly on her side of the ring. "She didn;t think I could solve her," says a beaming Ryan in post fight. "I was supposed to be too stiff, too stupid to handle her the second time around. Thing was, she was still feeling the effects of my punching from the first fight. She wasn't handling my right hand at all--I'd crack her and her legs would give way--her body bwasn't properly recovered. It's like Peta vs Famke--the stronger girl prevails in rematches, regardless of how good the opponent is, just because bwe take more out of a girl." Terrific win, reminds everyoine oif just how good Ryan can be when motivated. What do you do with a girl who can KO Charlize Theron and take a decision from Liz Hurley?
