Mandy Moore and Taylor Swift both come into this fight feeling the heat from lack of recent success in their records. Mandy’s gone 2-5-0 in the FCBA and dropped 3 BBU bouts in a row. Taylor Swift is new to the BBU, but she has a 0-4-0 record in the FCBA.

“You bet I am here to get my first win,” says young Ms. Swift. “I hate seeing that big goose egg in the W column under my record. I’m not picking on Mandy Moore in particular--but they tell me she is ‘beatable’. Well, if all those other girls can beat her, I’d don’t see why I can’t do that, too!”

Mandy Moore cool, but tense with the press: “No one is more frustrated with my losing streak than I am. I’ve been through tough times before and I have always fought my way out of them. I will this time too. Nothing against Taylor Swift, but this is going to end against her!”

During R1: Mandy and Taylor waste not time in rushing at each other and throwing haymakers designed to knock each other’s head off. The two stand toe-to-toe, knocking the other’s head back and from side to side, while absorbing the same sort of punches from the other fighter. Crowd roaring with excitement as neither young woman gives an inch, alternating giving and taking all the way to the bell ending the round. Some observers think Taylor showed more athleticism as she began to move around more late in the stanza, but others argue Mandy’s were the stronger. One clear point: both Mandy Moore and Taylor Swift red faced and sweating heavily at the bell.

R2: Another high-octane opening as Mandy and Taylor surge at each other once again and start firing way. This Taylor Swift lives up to her name, beating Mandy Moore in landing quick jabs to Mandy’s face. Mandy forced to step back and recover before she can strike back. Taylor keeps up the pressure and at the midway point she has Mandy up against the ropes. Two solid left jabs knock Moore’s head back and then a right hook cracks off her jaw. MANDY MOORE DOWN! Mandy slides to the canvas and takes an 8 count sitting on her butt. Taylor vibrating with rookie KO lust, can’t wait to rush back in to finish the job, but loses her timing in her haste. Mandy able to evade the incoming Taylor punches and counter with a firm jab that keeps blonde at bay to the end of the round.

R3: Taylor resumes her head hunting ways with Mandy doing her best to keep up her high guard to protect her face from that relentless barrage of jabs. Mandy tries to muscle Swift back and get up her up again ropes, but the blonde is able to keep avoiding this and continue her own offensive. Taylor comes to boss the round from a distance and her steady punching is draining Mandy Moore, who is slack-jawed and shabby at the bell.

R4: Taylor Swift has been paying increasing attention to punching Mandy Moore around the eyes and it is paying off in this round as Moore’s eyes are noticeably marked and swollen from the leather lashing. Mandy struggling now, as Swift’s crisp jabs knock her head back again and again. Then Taylor shrewdly changes course and plants a right to Moore’s gut and a left to the liver. MANDY IS HURT! Mandy’s hands drop to her sides and Taylor takes advantage with a ripping right hook to Moore’s ear! MANDY MOORE DOWN! Foxfire girl on her hands and knees, though she pulls herself up by 7 in the ref’s count. Mandy can be seen looking at the clock, but there is not comfort there as has to ride out a long stretch of Taylor Swift punching in close with only desperate clinching to break it up for brief periods. Mandy Moore looks badly roughed up to the face as she stumbles back to her corner, Eyes swollen alarmingly, but she refuses any suggestion of quitting between the rounds.

R5: Taylor goes right back to belaboring Mandy’s head from the start of the round. Woozy Mandy has her head smacked back and forth as she stumbles around ring, ineffectively trying to hold the blonde off with a feeble jab. Taylor backs off a step and referee anxiously studying Mandy. Then Taylor moves in once again and smacks big right hands into Moore’s face, as Mandy’s hands fall to her sides leaving her limp and defenseless--AND THE REF STEPS IN, cradling Mandy Moore to safety from any more damage. Mandy Moore shrieks in joy, jumping up and down, arms raised as she savors her first celebrity boxing win: TKO5.

After: Devastating loss for Mandy Moore, who has nothing to say after the fight. Taylor Swift dominated her all night on her way to a well-earned win. Has the tall, blonde songstress finally found her game?
