Thanks to Knowlesey who has enabled one of his fighters challenge Emma Bunton in her first BBU combat.
19th August 2011
Emma Bunton (Debut) vs Alexandra Burke (2 - 5, 2 KO)
Preview: After witnessing the rash activity from new generation of singers across Britain, Emma Bunton has decided to enter the ring in order to restore her pride as member of the most successful girls band the country has ever seen. Her first challenger will be one of the new generation's most prolific members, Alexandra Burke whose fighting record isn't of the highest standards though.
Pre-fight comments: Emma Bunton: "My decision of taking on some of these singer wannabes is well thought over and I was given extra support from Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham. It's very enjoyable to see that Alexandra Burke has been chosen as my first rival as she's got pretty poor record and I'm going to take this fight as a rehearsal before more challenging opponents in the future."
Alexandra Burke: "Emma is very brave to even try entering the ring with me. She's too old to give me a serious challenge and I understand she only gave birth to a child only three months ago. No way she's in a good shape and I hope to improve my record most likely by knocking her out!"
The Fight: Alexandra Burke enters the ring in a red bikini and black gloves. Emma Bunton's outfit is a white bikini and black gloves.
Round 1: Alexandra moves in quickly on Emma and throws few punches trying to see what the blonde is capable of. Emma parries the soft pucnhes but then Alexandra throws a solid left-right combination which pushes the blonde to the ropes. Emma is holding the guard well and keeps Alexandra from causing any serious damage. Alexandra's lively start gives her a lot of confidence as she continues to hassle Emma along the ring but her punches just don't hit the target. Emma is moving well on her feet, but hasn't hit the attacking mood just yet. The bell signals end of the round and Alexandra has been more active thus far.
Round 2: There's little change in fight scenario at the start of this round with Alexandra going after Emma. Thirty seconds in, a wild right hook catches the blonde in the face, she was too slow to raise her guard. Alexandra tries a follow up, but Emma clinches her on the ropes. Referee jumps in and seperates the fighters. More clinching stutters the round until Emma punches her rival in the ribs and pushes her away. Alexandra tries to respond, but a quick combination from the blonde forces her further back. Emma unleashes her first proper attack and traps Alexandra in a corner where she pummels her stomach and even tries an undercut but Alexandra's guard holds up and enables her to withstand the spell of pressure. Bell rings and this round must be even, Emma coming back after a slow start.
Round 3: Now it's Emma's turn to show some aggression. A flurry of punches force Alexandra back on the ropes and it's her time to clinch the blonde. Looks like Emma has warmed up properly in the opening couple of rounds and wants to dish out some punishment. Some would call she's using Alexandra as a target practice as she pummels the younger rival with some jabs and hooks. Alexandra barely throws a punch and is somewhat rescued by the bell as Emma clearly wins this round in a fine display of aggression.
Round 4: Alexandra is in trouble from the start again, Emma just keeps pounding her stomach and ribs and manages to break through her oppoment's guard a number of times. Alexandra's head jumps backwards several times as the blonde lands one punch after another. Alexandra has almost forgotten her lively approach from the first round and is happy just to clinch and lean on Emma. Referee halts the contest several times and gives Alexandra a warning for too much clinching. Alexandra gives the ref a death stare but soon reverts into yet more defence as Emma catches her in the stomach with thirty seconds remaining in the round. Alexandra struggles to breath and kneels down as the referee counts her to six before she gets up. The fight resumes but the bell saves Alexandra as Emma traps her along the ropes and looks for the knock-out. Will she survive the next round though?
Round 5: Emma in attacking mode from the start and a quick combination rattles Alexandra barely fifteen seconds into the round. Alexandra falls backwards but is helped by the ropes as Emma comes in and once again pummels her repeatedly. This is very one-sided and Alexandra covers up her face while the blonde brutalizes her ribs and stomach. The referee isn't taking any action yet, but he doesn't have to as Alexandra slumps down on her knees again and is counted to eight before getting up. She looks very tired and beaten up, Emma's punches have been very effective from round three onwards. There's one last chance for Alexandra, but she's unable to raise her guard quickly enough and Emma throws in a straight and half uppercut combination which catch her right in the jaw. Alexandra has nothing in the tank left and crumbles on the canvas as referee counts her to ten. Alexandra sits down on the canvas with her head low and the hair covering her face. Meanwhile Emma raises her hand to indicate she accepts she was the better woman. As the result is announced, Alexandra looks away from Emma and wants to leave the ring as quickly as possible.
Fight Result: Emma Bunton def. Alexandra Burke (KO5).
Post fight comments: Emma Bunton: "It's never easy to make an aggressive start to your maiden fight no matter how poor your rival's record looks like. But ever since the second round I had the feeling, I'm gonna win this. I put her under pressure and she just couldn't handle fighting on my terms. I'm already looking for another opponent. I hope someone accepts my challenge soon."
Alexandra Burke: "I made a mistake in the opening round of not going after her hard enough. She looked really unsettled there and that was my chance. I thought she would be more vulnerable as the rounds go by, but that was not the case. I don't know what happened after round three. I had no time to do anything and I'm very upset. It's depressing to see that blonde trash beating me the way she did."
