Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome to the ring, fighting out of the blue corner, weighing in at 143lbs, the Current AWUBA Welterweight Champion …. Michelle Bridges

And in the red corner, weighing in at 154lbs, the Current AWUBA Middleweight Champion ….Sarah Murdoch

Baudo: Kylie and Danni will be back commentating later in the night but it is my pleasure to have Emily Browning join me in the commentary box. Well done tonight Emily

Emily: Thanks Baudo. I’m up here with the next two fighters. Firstly Michelle Bridges, are you looking forward to this one?

Michelle: Absolutely, it’s an honour to step into the ring with Sarah. We have only fought twice before and it’s 1 a piece so there is a small score to settle.

Emily: Can I just say how awesome your body is?

Michelle: Well thank you, it takes a lot of hard work, training and dieting to keep looking this good at 41.

Emily: Good luck Michelle, let’s hope you’re not the Biggest Loser tonight

Michelle: Ha ha ha

Emily: And Sarah Murdoch, Austraila’s Next Top Model host up against Biggest Loser trainer, what should we expect?

Sarah: Hey Em, great win tonight, well some woman would look at Michelle and run scared. She is powerful and she is quick. I’ll use my reach and stamina tonight and that should get me through.

Emily: And stay out the way of that jab.

Sarah: Yeah well that’s the plan.

Emily: Good luck Sarah. Over to you Baudo.

Round 1

Baudo: Murdoch towering over Bridges, tall model against strong personal trainer, Murdoch’s long legs working the ring, staying well away from the Bridges jab. Both girls grinning. Murdoch fires off the first shot, a lightening fast jab that skims the Bridges nose. Bridges comes forward as Murdoch throws jabs, Bridges bobbing under shots. Murdoch still jabbing, Bridges swatting them away like flies, finally closes the gap and goes to the body. Murdoch trapped in the corner. She needs to get out of there. Welcome back Emily.

Emily: Bridges working the body strongly, but Murdoch still jabbing up top. A quick exchange in the corner and there’s the bell to end the first.

Baudo: Fairly close that round I would say, Bridges just getting there in the end.

Emily: Yeah I would have it 10-8 to Bridges. Murdoch can’t afford those close exchanges. We haven’t seen the Bridges jab yet.

Round 2

Baudo: Bridges comes forward, and Murdoch stays out of the way again. Bridges staying low to avoid the jab, swiping hooks at Murdochs mid section. Murdoch can’t land the jab with Bridges bobbing and weaving. Bridges throws a jolting right hook to the ribs, then a left. Murdoch winces and dances away.

Emily: Murdoch hurt by that shot Baudo. Bridges on the attack, working the body shots. Murdoch still throwing the jab up top but it just isn’t working.

Baudo: She has to change tact but what else has she got?

Emily: Bridges comes up and takes a shot from Murdoch but fires the jab herself to no effect. Bridges now jabbing the face and Murdochs head is turning left and right. Murdoch uneasy trying to dance away at the bell.

Baudo: Emily I think Michelle is just too fast for Sarah early. She has been able to close the gap and get under the jab. Sarah needs to make better use of her reach, maybe come a little closer.

Emily: I wouldn’t want to get to close to the Bridges jab and you can see these shots here, all connecting, 3 or 4 solid jabs to the eyes.

Baudo: A lot of work for Sarah’s corner to do here Emily. Elle is the best in the business though.

Round 3

Emily: Murdoch charging forward, straight into the left and right jab, followed by the hook, LIGHTING BRIDGES UP, Bridges on the back foot now as Murdoch hunts her down, Bridges guard high as the Murdoch jab continues, occasionally getting through.

Baudo: Big start from Murdoch but we are seeing a lot of punches thrown to no effect here.

Emily: Yep, Bridges bobbing and weaving and planting her feet. Bridges back to Murdoch’s body and the right hand STOPS MURDOCH IN HER TRACKS, big hook to the body, Murdoch wincing and back pedaling.

Baudo: Great recovery Bridges, stamping her authority on the fight again. Bridges stalking Murdoch, and cops a LEFT RIGHT COMBINATION from Murdoch. Murdoch dancing out of Bridges way as the pair trade jabs to the bell.

Emily: Wow just when Bridges took control there, Murdoch worked her reach. Maybe she can take these body blows. She wasn’t afraid to let Bridges close in on her even after being hurt.

Baudo: Brave stuff from Murdoch and perhaps that is the formula she needs. Lovely combination of jabs there from Murdoch.

Lets go to a quick break.

Round 4

Emily: Back to the action and Murdoch on high guard but still backing away, perfect use of the reach with a smart 1-2 jab, Bridges shaken, continues to bob and weave but the Murdoch jab is hitting the mark more and more. Bridges trying to get in and under but Murdoch shoves her back and keeps her at bay, measuring the jab.

Baudo: This is better by Murdoch, she is frustrating Bridges with her reach and Bridges is a little red faced, taking a lot of jabs. Murdoch closer now, brave stuff against a power punch, still tight but firing sharp hooks. Bridges covering up, not throwing anything, Murdoch low and blasts the hook to Bridges midsection, BRIDGES HURT, on the back foot for the second time, and Murdoch is back up top working the jab.

Emily: Vintage Murdoch this. Bridges on the ropes, Murdoch working her reach, slinging hooks and jabs as Bridges cops a barrage, her head is bobbing around. Murdoch back to the body, UNLEASHING ON BRIDGES CHEST at the bell.

Baudo: Bell to bell Murdoch that round and I would say Murdoch has it at the moment. This is Murdoch at her best. Controlling the fight with her reach and her jab is working a treat tonight.

Emily: We still haven’t really seen the Bridges jab. But I agree Murdoch was in total control that round.

Baudo: Look at Bridges face, it tells a story.

Emily: She is red faced and starting to swell already.

Round 5

Baudo: Murdoch attacks this time and Bridges retreats. There’s the Murdoch jab again, blistering jabs splitting the Bridges gloves, Bridges all defensive. Murdoch slinging the right, misses, but connects THE LEFT HOOK, Bridges staggers to her right, supports herself on the ropes. AND ON COMES MURDOCH, pushes Bridges right shoulder to straighten her up then hooks the mid section. Bridges on shaky legs trying to tuck in but Murdoch works up top with uppercuts clipping the chin. BRIDGES IS GETTING HAMMERED by body shots, there’s the uppercut, Murdoch sets up the RIGHT HOOK…BRIDGES DOWN!!

Emily: WOW Sarah Murdoch might have ended it right there. Bridges sitting in the ropes couldn’t stop the onslaught and that uppercut right there looks to have turned the lights out.

Baudo: Yeah I’d say the hook was elimentary my dear Emily. Bridges felled liked a tree but amazingly she is up at 6.

Emily: oooo, big cut over the right eye, that is viscous. Powerful shot by Sarah Murdoch and if the punch hasn’t stopped Bridges then I would say the cut will.

Baudo: MURDOCH CHARGES IN… Bridges woozy at the ropes, copping straight jabs to the face, Murdoch working the cut, Murdoch goes back downstairs and throws wild hooks at Bridges ribcage and DOWN GOES BRIDGES AGAIN. Was that the bell?

Emily: Yeah Baudo and that could have saved her.

Baudo: I couldn’t hear the bell over the crowd as Murdoch takes this fight by the scruff and she is all over Michelle Bridges.

Emily: Some might argue an unfair match up height and weight but don’t forget that Bridges has fought at Middle and has beaten Sarah before.

Baudo: Well in terms of AWUBA fighters there is no tougher than Michelle Bridges but I don’t see her coming back from that.

Round 6

Emily: MURDOCH CHARGES IN AGAIN and starts exactly where she left off. Bridges slow to react and she is back on the ropes. Murdoch all hooks to the body keeping Bridges out of the clinch but not for long. Bridges dancing away, looking spent. Murdoch stalking but Bridges stays put back to bobbing and weaving. Murdoch measures the jab but takes a hard shot to the body. She steadies and jabs the Bridges chin, misses the right jab but catches Bridges chin with THE LEFT UPPERCUT and BRIDGES IS FLAT ON HER BACK!!

Baudo: Electrifying left uppercut out of nowhere has Bridges on her back. Slow to roll to one knee but she is up at 7. Murdoch is on her game tonight, jumping up and down shaking out the arms. Bridges shaky on her feet but allowed to continued. Bridges guard high as Murdoch closes in. All Murdoch as she drives Bridges back to the ropes with jabs, the Biggest Loser has thrown one punch all round. Murdoch cleaning up, swinging at bruised ribs, firing uppercuts through a weak guard, Bridges head is bobbing up and down, left hook Murdoch, RIGHT HOOK MURDOCH…DOWN GOES BRIDGES!

Emily: Murdoch punishing Bridges there as she goes rigid and falls to her side. The ref counts but Bridges hasn’t moved. I’d say this is all over Baudo.

Baudo: Bridges trying at 8 but that’s it I think, there’s the count. SARAH MURDOCH has it by KO in the 6th!!

Emily: Big effort by Sarah Murdoch, knocking Bridges down four times in the last 2 rounds. Lets go up to Eddie who has Sarah.

Eddie: Sarah Murdoch, you just knocked out Michelle Bridges, how about that?

Sarah: It’s what I am capable of. I have a knock out punch and I can knock out the toughest girls in the business. There are a lot of models out there that should be getting ready for Sarah Murdoch

Eddie: Well Michelle is undoubtedly the strongest fighter in Australia and you dismantled her tonight.

Sarah: I just stayed out of the way of her jab and when she walked into my left hook, that was the end of it.

Eddie: Well thanks for that Sarah, well done. Michelle beaten tonight but not disgraced.

Michelle: Sarah said it, I couldn’t land the jab, too much reach. Thanks Eddie.

Eddie: Well Baudo and Emily, another KO, these woman are not leaving anything in the tank tonight. Back to you Craig.
