Georgie: Well, let’s see how it goes, Nadine Coyle’s first up against Sarah Carter. I don’t think Nads has much chance of winning against Sarah, but she’s not a pushover, and she could surprise the visitor.

Alex: I know you’re close to Nadine, but, surely Sarah’s going to take her out by the fourth?

Georgie: I think they could go the ten.

“Thank you and welcome to Cardiff, with the girls in the ring, and waiting for the bell. They’re both looking good, and are keen to get on with this, and here’s the first round:

Carter’s first to get going and she’s finding Coyle already – she’s landing some nice jabs, but Coyle seems OK, not worried too much. Carter’s tracking Coyle, letting her run a little, now she catches her again, little flurry to the bod, and that will tell later – those punches sap the energy after a while! This doesn’t look good for Coyle – she’s let Carter push her back to the ropes, and that’s opening her up to the belly a little – nice shot from Carter there has Coyle hanging on to her, and the bell rings, not a moment too soon for Nadine Coyle, who got a bit of a lesson there.

On their stools, Sarah seems happy, but Nadine’s getting the ice treatment to her ribs – she’ll ache for a while after this. So, on the go for the second:

It’s more of the same treatment her for Coyle, as Carter smacks some painful punches into her body, and she’s feeling every one, I can tell you – the girl’s hurting like hell! Now Carter starts to jab that pretty face of Coyle’s, and she’s pumping her left glove into the girl’s mouth, really dominating her now, showing true class. Coyle’s hanging on in there, clinching and holding, but Carter’s in a different league to her, and she’s giving her a real beating at this stage in the fight. Not long to go in the round now, but Coyle’s breathing hard, aww, lovely right hook from Carter – she’s got Coyle half down, but that’s the end of the round – lucky, lucky Nadine Coyle!

I’m just peering at Nadine here, and she looks really groggy, guys – her cheeks are all grazed up from that face-spanking she took in the second, and I reckon Carter could finish this off pretty soon. There’s the bell for the third:

Both girls standing off a little this time – Carter seems unsure, and Coyle’s on her bike, flitting around the ring, keeping away from Carter’s vicious glovework. Here comes Carter though, swinging at Coyle’s midriff again, connecting too, nice work from Carter again here – good shot! She got Coyle hard there, right to the old breadbasket, and now what? Coyle’s down – didn’t see the punch, but yep, left hook to the body got her on her knees, and she’s got up at 7, looking shaky, takes a good one to the jaw there, and another, now she’s clinching and Carter looks fed up with her, but she can’t push Coyle off – the girl’s game, but she can’t take Carter’s punches, and she’s hurt again – on the ropes, took a big left to the mouth this time, and again the bell goes!

Nadine looks messed up in her corner, blubbing too – I don’t know that she’s gonna take much more, but here we go again – round 4!

And Carter’s in, looking to finish the job, throws a good left at Coyle’s jaw – but she misses, and Coyle hits her back! Good girl, Nadine! Coyle’s got Carter moving backwards for the first time tonight, and the blonde doesn’t like it! Coyle’s doing well here, hitting Carter a few times, but giving herself a rest, too – if Carter has to defend, she can’t be punching her, so she does well, keeping the girl at arm’s length. The round’s drawing to a close, and Carter’s looking strong again – but she eats a straight right from Coyle, and almost sits – Coyle doesn’t follow up though, and the round ends with the girls just circling each other.

There’s action in Sarah’s corner this time – she’s getting a right roasting from her trainers, while Nadine just sits quietly with icepacks on her face and ribs. Let’s see what happens in five:

The short answer is – not much! The girls are still circling each other, neither of them keen to take on the other up close, they exchange a few jabs, and that’s about it at the moment. The fans are getting restless now, and the girls react, with Carter getting stuck into Coyle again, knocking her about to the bod, weakening her resolve like she did before. It’s working, too, ‘cos Nadine’s just standing there and taking it – getting thumped in the belly and ribs again, then, oh, nice one two to the face from Carter, and Coyle’s knees have gone – right hook, and Coyle’s on her backside, looking up at Carter and shaking her head, but she gets up at 6, looking pretty keen – takes another solid right, and she’s hanging on – makes it through the round, though.

Those right hand punches have done Nadine no favours there – her left cheek’s all puffy and she will have one helluva black eye in the morning. Still, for the present, here’s round 6:

Carter looks aggressive again now, and she takes Coyle on a journey round the ring, stabbing that left jab into her nose and mouth, and the Irish girl is taking a battering now – not looking good for Nadine – Carter’s rocked her there with a left hook, and she’s not really with it, just standing there! Hell – that’s Carter’s uppercut, and down goes Coyle, splatted all over the canvas, just completely out of it!

It’s all over – Sarah Carter knocked Nadine Coyle out in round 6.

Alex: Well, Georgie, it lasted a little longer than I predicted, but Sarah Carter was in a different class there, wasn’t she?

Georgie: Yeah! She gave Nadine a little lesson there!

Alex: The lesson being ‘Stay away from the grown ups!’ And we see on the screen that Nadine’s on her feet, being helped back to her stool. Sarah’s going to her corner – but it’s OK, she’s just checking on the girl – that’s good to see!
