Next up at flyweight is another Anglo French battle, between two ‘girls’ over 40 this time, with the fit and feisty Amanda taking on the richly experienced Virginie.

In the ring, Amanda still looks great, wearing a pink bikini, with Virginie in a black one-piece outfit.

Round 1

The girls start off at a fairly sedate pace, with Virginie soon finding her range, landing nice, neat jabs to Amanda’s face, and by halfway through the round she’s beginning to dominate the blonde, peppering her pale skin. Amanda recovers some self-respect in the latter stages of the round, though, and she clips Virginie with one really firm right hook to the lips when the pair exchamge punches on the ropes.

Round 2

Again the round starts slowly, with Virginie jabbing and moving skilfully, and Amanda crouching, sliding forwards slowly, snaking out some fairly ponderous shots towards the French girl’s body. Virginie starts to slow down as the round passes the half-way point, and this enables Amanda to land a few of her heavier punches around the French girls flanks, making her clinch up tight. At this point, Amanda slips Virginie a low blow, making the brunette gasp and stumble, but the referee hasn’t seen it, and Amanda then buffets Virginie’s head from side to side as she struggles for air.

Round 3

Amanda concentrates on hitting Virginie to the body again, and the French girl has to take a few thudding blows. She isn’t keen to clinch and hold, though, remembering the crotch punch, looks better boxing than brawling anyway, starting to redden Amanda’s cheeks with those accurate jabs, which are starting to take their toll on the blonde, who’s work is getting careless, her attempts to land a big shot failing, then, as she misses with a lunging left, Amanda takes a solid right hook to the ear, and drops to her knees, just for a count of 4, but she seems weaker, and gets caught late on with a double helping of right hooks to the face, the bell coming just in time.

Round 4

Now Virginie is taking control, and she’s punishing Amanda for the low blow with interest, smacking the Brit’s face to and fro, the blonde staggering along the ropes, then getting a looping right hook over the top of her guard, which stuns her briefly, her legs quivering, and she manages to hold. There’s no dirty tactics now from Amanda though, and the pair are soon parted, after which Virginie slips a lovely three punch combination into Amanda’s face, sitting her on her butt for a 6 count. The referee looks closely at Amanda before letting the fight continue, and she soon gets hurt again with a left hook this time, a punch which has her almost on her knees, flopping against the cornerpost at the bell.

Round 5

Battered and bruised, Amanda looks spent by now, and Virginie quickly gets back to work on her, landing one, two, three left jabs to her swelling face, then wiping a right hook across the lips – Amanda’s arms are down, she’s on the ropes, and Virginie finishes the job off with a crisp left hook to the jaw, leaving Amanda senseless on the canvas.

Virginie Ledoyen knocked Amanda Holden out in round 5.

It was sad to see Amanda again resort to dirty tactics in this fight, and she got her comeuppance as Virginie gave her a sound beating, something the French girl is obviously telling Amanda as she stands in front of her in the Brit’s corner, before slapping her battered face and stalking off.
