R2: Brisk pace continues—girls meeting midring, not bodying up, but working in close, putting harsh punches together, working up a sweat, Brittany rolling her shoulders, clipping tit with rising lefts and rights—Basinger countering to the waist, getting under Daniel’s elbows whenever the champ looks to work the bra. Down the stretch, Kimmie D beats Brittany D to hook on the chops—champ’s legs quiver and it’s Brittany’s turn to tie up. Kim showing good strength, wrestlers her girl into the ropes, jamming away with tight right hands to the jaw out of the lock up at the bell.

R3: Kim sees something—a little whince at the corner of Daniel’s mouth, some doubt in those pretty eyes and she goes right at the tentative champ thi9s round. Daniel taken aback by the head-first assault, gives ground to the ropes and quickly finds herself overwhelmed. Basinger focused, sharp with punches—hook, right hand up top, then hook, hook to the waist, pushing up to brace Brittany back into the ropes for more. Biting combination punches wearing the champ out—defense starts to break down and Daniel starts to catch clean—head jerking left and right, body clumping as Basinger digs into the tummy. By the final minute it’s electric—crowd screaming as Kim pours it on—ref looking in, ready to stop it. Daniel covering up and cowering as she takes the beating of a lifetime. At the bell, Daniel shivering, cut under the right eye—Basinger smoldering, chest rising and falling as she glares at the piece of meat she’s been working over.

R4: WAR! Daniel shoulders up strong midring, refusing to give any more ground to her “ancient” challenger. Hardhearted work inside—both girls selliong out to punch the stomach and liver of the opponent. Uppercuts feature as both girls are stooped forward,l inviting curling blows to the teeth—fighters wander in mutual stagger in a phonebooth. Suddenly, Brittany rips off a savage 3 punch burst to the bra, leaving Kim breathless, and the champ takes over. Basinger backing up—Daniel ravaging her with licks across the waist, right hands across the teeth—Kim hits the ropes in woozy disrepair. Brittany’s turn to pile on—Basinger with left hands across her body, right hand palm out at her left cheek, trying to block the incoming as Daniel explodes. Sensational beating takes in every paret of Kim’s torso and head—Basinger takes a veteran knee to relieve the awful pounding. After 8, resolute champion walks back in, crunching her way into Basinger’s midriff, breaking down the defense and clubbing to either temple as Kim slumps forward in hurt. Daniel with a little left shoulder bump, twists her torso into a clipping right uppercut and sidesteps as Basinger dumps to all fours, now disastrously, gloriously hurt.

Kim struggles up to take another 8, swaying helplessly on the spot as Brittany wades in to finish. Heartbreaking beating at the ropes—Basinger hugging herself in shock, absorbing a shattering beat down as Daniel lets her hands go. Brave challenger sinks to her knees and lolls sideways into the ropes as the ref tackles Daniel away and this one is stopped—KO4 Brittany Daniel.

After: Basinger out on her shield, spent all her money in a glorious third that saw her beat Daniel within a inch if quitting, but the effort proved too expensive. Young champion able to suck it up and come back strong in the fourth and challenger had nothing left but heart. Basinger disconsolate after the loss, unable to go the route for the first time since Connelly’s brutal dismissal several fights back. Sets up an intriguing Rinna/Daniel title fight—nothing but hard punching KOs between the two.
