Before: Rarely have two girls been so certain of victory as the opposite corners of this fight - Basinger with complete disdain for Connelly's rough hewn style - Jennifer disparaging the blonde's ability to weather rough seas - unexpected grudge match develops out of tense prefight sessions. During R1,2: Connelly the aggressor as expected, but a nimble Kim Basinger controls the action in classy early action. Jen coming forward with right hand at her left cheek, left across her body - Basinger scooting to her left, hands eye-high, palms out - she's shooting out pesky jabs and straight lead rights - Jen getting nickle and dimed as blonde gets off first and gets away. Basinger's straight punching to the face shining Connelly up nice after 2.

R3: Connelly walking through the accurate, pesky punching of the blonde, finally inches into hooking range. Jen lowering her guard, right hand loose at her left shoulder, left hand around her stomach - she steps in, swivels on her hips and bangs that hook across Kim's brow with spectacular results early. Basinger just stunned by the impact - staring as Jen resets, cranks, resets cranks - Kimmie finally staggering away to regroup after fielding clean on her face. Entire round consists of Connelly stalking, getting into range, then bouncing her left hand off Basinger's face - Kim dazed, stands hurt in one place as Connelly helps herself to face 2 and 3 times in succession with banging hooks. Kimmie woozy to her corner, unresponsive as trainers rub life into her thighs.

R4: Basinger really hook-shy - Jen still stepping in, able to skid that hard left off the eyebrow, reset her hips and upperbody, then bang it in again as Kim seems too stunned to get out of the way. Kim breaking down, fights in spots, stepping in behind her jab to hook Jennifer's bra with biting sincerity. Connelly backing her girl up, really punching Basinger stupid with that hook.

R5: Basinger staring - Jen steps, cranks the hook off the face, steps right, bites it again against Kim's left eye and Basinger crumbles backwards to take a seat for 8. Kimmie bruising up - crossing her arms, leaning forward groggily as Jen hammers away, now getting the right hand in on the act with the odd chop to the eye. Connelly beating Kim ragged all around the ring - sensational head punching has Basinger stupified through 5.

R6: Kim palms out, shoots some nice lead rights and lean-away hooks early to polish Connelly up on the way in, but brunette is eager to take in order to get into position. By the midway point, Jennifer's hook is bashing across Kim's face - Basinger hollow eyed, stooping forward behind crossed arms and seemingly helpless to do anything about the punishment. Connelly cranking and reloading left hands, touching up on Kim with the left elbow as she resets, then snapping it across the blonde's swollen mug.

R7: Jennifer bullying Kim now, pounding her way into Basinger's face with the chopping lead right, then twisting into the hook as the blonde wilts backwards. Basinger retreating, sullen against the ropes as Jennifer bounces her head around, but blonde able to walk away, dig in, and get beat up some more as Connelly walks her down. Nice tough body shots as Jen bends at the waist to drop that hook into Kim's right side. All Connelly through 7.

R8: Jen stepping in close, snapping out the hook from her loose crossed arm stance - Basinger just taking clean on her face, knees buckling as Connelly strokes her with three crisp lefts in methodical succession. Kimmie wandering away - Jen stepping her down, pounding away with multiple lefts and single right hands until the blonde is forced to give more ground. Sensational drubbing in the final minute - Kim out on her feet, arms crossed at her body, drooping forward and soaking up banging hooks to her stomach and face without complaint. At the bell - Basinger staggers to the wrong corner and is quickly re-directed. Badly battered, unable to see, Kim elects not to come out for the 9th round.

After: Jennifer all strut-and-smiles - she batters Kim Basinger unrecognizable with a pounding, non stop hook to the head - landing it early, often and hard to leave the blonde helpless by the end. Connelly constantly coming over to get a look at a woozy Basinger on her stool - brunette fascinated at the damage she was able to do. Kim coming-to in the aftermath, immediately calls for Connelly's hand wraps to be inspected, claims afterward, "it was like Jennifer was hitting me between the eyes with a brick. I don't remember anything after the third round. It's not natural - no way Jen's that big a puncher."
