Before: One of those bouts you wish could have featured both women in their primes - battle of athletic slugger/boxers, both use awkward angles and staggered timing to catch foes napping, both VERY heavy handed for little women. Liu probably a little too sharp at this point, but Derek always dangerous early - interesting to see how Lucy handles a taste of her own medicine. Staredown a classic - Liu glaring, Bo answering with that washed out zen-trance stare. Lucy in black push up, leopard print boycut trunks, slick ponytail, Bo in black string bikini.

During R1: Veteran Bo changes up early - lifting a heavy, backhanded jab off her waist to mess with Lucy's timing. Bo stepping to the right, and bouncing away and to her left whenever Liu bends to lunge - Lucy can't find the range and Bo picks her up nice from outside. Down the stretch, Derek wades in with wide, straight arm licks from both sides - wild right hand clocks Lucy's jawline flush - Asian stomping back on her heels hits the ropes with a stunned expression. Shutout Bo Derek.

R2: Derek continues to dictate. Both girls keeping hands low, arms loose, springing in and out on one another - round sees a series of sudden exchanges, then girls circling apart to regroup. Derek just seems to have the timing - she's catching Liu on the way in, holding her own during the exchange, then cashing Liu out with the wide, slapping hook along the jaw. Liu unhurt, but getting touched up - she storms back to her corner angry and frustrated during the break.

R3: Liu starting to edge in closer, keeping her head at waist level, turning southpaw to push the right jab against Bo's taut tummy. Liu looking to set Derek up, but the blonde lays the first trap at the midway point - she times a Lucy lunge perfectly, straightening up and hooking the Asian hard to the temple as Lucy leaves her feet - Liu careening past her foe to the ropes on shocked legs as the crowd goes wild. Bo strutting in to finish - she lashes wide right hands to Lucy's shiny hip, then torques the wide left to the jaw as Liu's defense starts to shred. Down the stretch - crowd roaring as Bo presses, Liu desperately bobs and bends at the ropes. Wild, licking blows lash down on Lucy, but she's got her game together, Bo can't find her, and in the dying seconds, Liu slips a right, leaps up into a crashing right uppercut on the teeth and BO GOES OUT! It's SO over - Derek lies on her back, right foot twitching, arms outstretched, it's a BLISTERING one punch KO Lucy Liu!

After: Derek finally coming to, has absolutely no recollection of events. Liu cruelly bundling the blonde up and practically carrying the former champ around the ring for a senseless walk of shame in payback for the better than expected effort. Derek crafty early, but this quickly became a Lucy Liu fight when Bo opened up to get her girl out. Liu's reflexes and defence superior - very choosy with her punches tonight, getting outworked by Bo, but landing a shattering right hand that makes highlight reels from Entertainment Tonight to Sportsdesk.
