Before: Liu gets a shot at fellow exotic Jackson after back to back jacks of good opposition. Janet a complete fighter is a big step up, but can be dropped and stopped—most predict the KO is the only way Liu can get it done. Both girls wear “I Dream of Jennie” ponytails, black push up bras, and satin long pants—red for Lucy, black for Janet. Pants are very low cut long the hips, exposing terrific abs of both women.

During R1: Janet sets the pace, showing equal lateral movement and moving inside like Lucy isn’t even trying. Banging blows from both hands seem to freeze Liu, and her face is contorted with pain. Janet slugging viciously, turning her shoulder into tight left hooks to the belly, forces Lucy to take a knee seconds into the abuse. Liu up at 8 is shellshocked, and Jackson slides in again, working Mosley style with banging two handed assault to the ribs. Liu finally fires back in the final minute, but trading to the body is Janet’s forte. Easy round for Miss Janet.

R2: More of the same as Jackson clearly watched tapes of the Shue fight. She closes and goes to work, pumping her fists non-stop while propping her cheek I against Liu’s neck. Lucy can’t seem to get off, taking huge punishment, and suffering badly downstairs. Lucy buckle, covers up, and Janet digs with left hooks to the liver. Pounding shots put Liu on all fours with seconds left in the round. Lucy saved by the bell.

R3: Lucy Liu just looks a beaten fighter. She comes out on trembling legs, lips quivering, and fades to the ropes as Janet greedily rips away the Asian’s body. Shoving and mugging along the ropes as Janet uses power boxing ll the way, surprising those who were expecting her to finess Lucy. It’s a brutal accumulation of punishment which stops Lucy as she gives it up to Janet midway through the round. Liu on one knee, refuses to rise: KO Janet Jackson.

After: To the casual fan. A shocking one sided affair. But boxing purists saw flaws ion Liu’s style from the beginning. Body attack robbed Lucy of her legs early, and she obviously lacked a Plan B in this fight. Jackson redeems herself with pressure win and calls out Elisabeth Shue after the bout.
