Before : Jewel staying active, defends her MTV title against the first ever MTV champ Jenny Mac. McCarthy calling it “her” title throughout the pre-fight belittles Jewel at every opportunity—while Ms Kilcher remains serene as usual.

Jen us flower print push up bikini, yellow shoes and gloves—Jewel in electric blue bandeaux bikini, black shoes, blue gloves, tight ponytail. Jenny smirking during staredown, making faces as Jewel stoically matches her gaze.

During R1: Jenny clowning, boloing her fists and Jewel makes her pay with a crunching lead right on the button. Jenny hurt from the git go, stumbles backwards as Jewel advances, slinging shots from her hips to bat back Mac’s head to either side. Mac on the ropes, reeling, bending forward, and Jewel goes to work out of her tight guard, snapping off hooks and digging right hands to Jenny’s sides. Mac blubbering in pain, straightens and covers up, but Jewel pounds a left hand to the face, resets her whole body and twists her hips into a shuddering left to the liver that spills Mac to the canvas. Jenny up tremble-bodies at 8, and she takes a seat on the ropes to soak up a dreadful beating to bell. Jewel icy-eyed as she peels back from her foe—Jenny cut, badly busted up around the gave, and holding her ribs is shellshocked going back to her corner.

R2: Jewel walking Jenny Mac down, taking Mac’s jab on her forearms, and pounding back up the middle with that dropping jab from the elbow, hard rght cross. Mac going shoulder to shoulder, trades clubbing shots to the belly but gets the worst of it again as Jewel backs her up.

R3: Two way slugging continues, Mac’s pre-fight smugness replaced by teeth-baring desperation. Jenny working inside with Jewel constantly levered onto her heels and pushed around as Kilcher keeps up the pressure on Jenny’s body.

R4: Shoulder to shoulder, toe to toe—Jenny Mac just not strong enough—she grudgingly gives ground, trading with jewel and getting clouted about the ring in close action.

R5: Jewel working with methodical patience, alternating her head on either of Jenny’ shoulders to work with lefts and rights underneath, and Mac goes wobbly butt as Jewel jerks her trademark short shots to the body. Jenny fighting hurt the rest of the way, clobbers Jewel’s breasts, but can’t get Kilcher to abandon the plan.

R6: Good round for Jenny Mac as she finally adjusts—instead if pushing against Jewel, she steps back, letting Kilcher walk into right hands, and Jewel covers up much of the round rather than letting her hands go. Midway through the round, Jenny retreating in good order, stuns the champ with a short right hand on the jaw, and Mac turns it over into a nice uppercut on the lips to smack Jewel’s head back. Kilcher hurt, finishes with ropes biting into her wide back as Jenny mauls her to the bell.

R7: Jenny wants to capitalize, working Jewel with clubbing combinations to the head and shoulders as Kilcher steps forward, but Jewel blocks most of the heat, turns the tide with her jolting jab, and smashes the right cross to Jenny’s chin to re-take command. Mac wobbly-butt from Jewel’s right cross, and Kilcher gives a little shoulder shuck, setting up the snapping left hook on the cheek that spins Jenny to all fours. Mac up, shaking her head and she slides along the ropes as Jewel squares up and pounds away with savage left hooks to the breasts and ribs to the bell.

R 8.9.10: Jewel Kilcher spends 9 mintes giving Jenny the beating of her life time. It is a sad, swollen eyed, exhausted Jenny, sagging on the ropes, laying in with Jewel, trying to clinch, and getting methodically battered as Kilcher pours on the effective pressure. Nothing fancy—Mac’s legs are shot and Jewel has the luxury of jabbing her to the ropes, then using her shoulders and body to keep Jenny pinned and hurting. Jewels fists pound hips, tummy, breasts and face. Leaving Jenny Mac staggering and ruined at the final bell. Unanimous decision jewel Kilcher as she surprises many experts with a virtuoso one-sided defense of her title.

After: Who could have guessed that 3 minutes into this fight cocky Jenny McCarthy would be fighting for her life. Stripped of her dignity after 10n of the longest rounds of her career, a lumpy faced Jenny Mac slinks away from the Hard Rock Hotel as Kilcher revels in new-found adoration. All that veteran savvy and rule-breaking equalizing went right out the window once Jewel’s fists found Jenny’s face, and shortly thereafter, her heart.
