Before: Smith glad to accommodate Jewel’s debut. Courtney getting a nice break from her routine of fighting top ten monsters, looks to beat Jewel just about any way she wants. Light blue one piece suit for Jewel, 2 piece pale blue aerobics suits for Courtney.

During R1: Smith makes a tactical mistake by going inside nand actually gets pushed around by the surprisingly strong singer, Jewel lands some telling blows to the belly of Smith, and has Courtney holding on at times during the round. Smith gets a lecture during the break, as she is shutout this round.

R2: Smith sticks to the script and boxes this round, and the fight gets easy. Jewel’s feet not up to the task of staying with Smith as the older blonde exploits angles with ease. Court finds a sweet spot over Jewel’s left shoulder, connecting with chopping right hands at the bell that have the youngster in trouble.

R3: Courtney goes back to the well, scoring with combinations to get jewel covering up, then stepping right and coming over that shoulder with the pay off shots. Repeated blows to the cheek and temple wear Jewel down as she is unable to make adjustments. By the final minute, Jewel isn’t fighting back, just covering up and taking a senseless beasting. The fight is stopped and Courtney takes an easy workout back to the pay window.

After: What do you get when you put a 10 year veteran on the upswing in which a soft-bodied poet? Third round TKOs. Smith obviously has dealt with her demons. Restless crowd clearly focused on Theron/Fernandez main event. Jewel has inside fighting skills, but is clueless against a decent boxer at this point.
