Before: Bouyed by a nice “didn’t lose” streak, Carey is very vocal about her wish to “take out” Charlize. “Charlize is shot,” Mariah states matter of factly in pre-fight, “finished, done. It’s my time now and she is all yesterday.” Theron unimpressed warns Carey that if she tries any of the stunts she’s relied upon recently, that the beating will go on much longer than is necessary. So basically, there’s a liiiiitle tension in the air.

Red adidas terrycloth trunks, black jogbra for Mariaj, teal trunks and white jogbra for Charlize.

During R1: Carey obviously wasn’t listening during the hype session, and wades out swinging for the fences with her wide shots early. Theron comes prepared, up on her toes, retreating well in advance of the onslaught, timing Carey beautifully, and bouncing forward just as Mariah leans in to crash a short right uppercut into the brunette’s mouth. Carey’s own momentum nearly knocks her out on Charlize’ s fists as the brunette goes gumby limbed.. Theron coolly steps to the right and puts Mariah on her hands and knees with a single sharp left hook to the sternum. Carey up at 8, gasping, and badly rocked, is systematically abused by Theron from the outside. Certainly looks lie a carry-job as Charlize backs off from finishing, content to potshot from long range.

R2: Mariah much less aggressive, looks to box with Charlize, and Theron takes that bet every time. Charlize stepping to the right, stabs her jab into Mariah’s face at will, and crosses easily to the jaw over Carey’s lazy left hand. Paint job for Theron as she controls Mariah throughout.

R3: More stick and step from Theron, who simply beats Mariah to the punch for most of the round. In the final minute, Carey tires of eating leather, and lands some tepid right hands to the shoulder and midsection of Theron as Charlize banks another round.

R4: Signs of life from Mariah early are shut down in a hurry as Theron lures Carey forward once again, draws the right hand, and counters with a bruising left to the ribs, left to the chin combination to leave Carey wobbly butt at center ring. Once again, Charlize backs off, and the realization dawns on Carey that Theron is deliberately drawing out the punishment. Charlize potshotting, coolly dissecting Mariah nas the brunette lacks the wherewithal to defend.

R5.6.7: All Theron as Mariah is stripped of her notoriety in these one sided rounds. Charlize very patient, content to use her dominant jab to the cheeks and eyes of the pretty singer. Theron unleashes the right hand judiciously, pounding into straight lines to the ribs and chin of Carey, using just enough heat to get the brunette in trouble, then toying with her from the outside. Carey’s face shows her frustration, humiliation and pain as Theron has her way.

R8: Charlize looks like a finisher this round, spending the first minute softening up the smooth brown gut of Carey, then using the forearm to set up the short rights to the chin.

Carey soaks up a tremendous shot midway through the round that has Theron shaking her first in pain, and in the final minute, the girls stand toe to toe trading  2 and 3 punch combinations to the bell. AND MARIAH CAREY QUITS ON HER STOOL! Overruling her trainer, a teary eyed Carey punks out, refusing to come out for the 9^th round. The usually stoic Theron is jubilant at the stoppage, waving and blowing kisses to the crowd.

After: Carey exposed as a one trick pony—take wild swings and damn-the-torpedoes attack away from her, and she was helpless in this one. Theron not known for cruelty, certainly showed she has a streak as she all but tied Carey to the ring post and whipped her tonight.
