BEFORE: Meester bursting with confidence these days: Brittany Snow behind her; constant stream of publicity keeping her front-and-center...she's arguably one of boxing's hottest small-bodied properties coming in. "What can I say," Leighton jokes in prefight, "it's good to be in the Leighton Meester business. Look: take out the towering faux-flyweights like Danes and McCord, and I'm just about the best true-fly in boxing. Gellar used to be me, once upon a time: chopping her down really solidifies my gains so far." Collapse of Carmen Electra a shock to team Gellar: Sarah Michelle the next former champ considered to be circling the drain. "There's no question," admits the steely-eyed veteran, "I have to start cutting girls like Leighton Meester down if I want to stay relevant in this division. It's so competitive - there are so many girls in this class - that you just can't afford to slump the way I have. But being realistic about it is my best chance to turn things around. Beat Meester; solve problems: easy." Meester in dark green bikini with thin grey stretch waistband; small black gloves. Gellar dying her hair dark chocolate for the occasion, showing in black push up bra, leopard print bikini bottoms; small black gloves.

R1: Girls fidgetty on approach - starting and stopping - taking little pounce-steps to get off rapid left/rights in straight, palm-down delivery. Sarah getting the better of brisk exchanges early - pasting Leighton's face and breasts: Meester turns the tide by the minute mark. Half way point...Meester tags Sarah's face a swift right/left: Gellar stumbles out of it, then flops to all fours, visibly startled. Meester tossing hair off her shoulders, face upturned and beaming en-route to neutral corner: she takes time to wink at fans, grinning as Sarah takes a blinking 8. Leighton on to finish...SARAH WON'T HAVE IT! Gellar gritty off the apron - she lets hands go hup-hup-hup - lathering Meester body and head, driving her off. Meester's round 10-8, but plucky Gellar resistance denies the finishing attempt.

R2: Leighton darting in, getting off brisk right/left/rights - straight, palm-down punches penetrating, scoring against Sarah's face. Gellar repeatedly pin-pricked, knocked off stance: she's getting disorganized, preempted by rapid-fire Leighton. Latter half the round grim for Gellar: she's down after a left uppercut clean to chin, then down moments later as swarming strafing run along the ropes peppers her to her knees. Sarah busting up, looking forlorn, scuffed: Leighton's having her way with veteran through 2.

R3: Gellar gets Leighton in trouble for the first time: left hook off the right (back) foot nips Meester's chin coming in. Leighton distressed - eyes all "How could you?" - Gellar quickly over to front foot, pressing her attack to ribcage. Scouring work along ropes - Gellar on Meester: Sarah very busy, swishing side to side with elbows in tight to her body. Meester being licked and lapped hard about her waist and hips - she's buffeted corner to corner, often cowering or turning away as Sarah beats her without mercy.

R4: CLAMBAKE! Sarah gambling early, batting and lathering Leighton's hips/flanks to put her ropeside. Meester rallying back, dipping-n'-ripping left or right uppercuts from her earmuff guard, then brawling freely to back Gellar to midring. Middle minute, Meester putting together TASTY straight right leads and wide, slapping hooks: Gellar clipped and belted goes wobbly-butt, eyes staring in confusion. Leighton presses to finish, dipping left shoulder and hoisting repeat left uppercuts to Sarah's slender midsection: Gellar responds with desperation hooks to Leighton's chin, clipping her clean and PUTTING HER WOBBLY BUTT! Meester staring, blinking, suddenly flat footed - she goes on autopilot, twisting to pull punches off her hips as Sarah's boiling forward. Gellar snarling, bending inside the arc of Leighton's wide shots to chop short lefts and rights to face: Meester slugged back to ropes... she drooping! SARAH WANTS RACK! Veteran sends a message to ingenue with a joyous ransacking of those prime-time jugs: Meester sobbing aloud, sagging into ropes as Sarah shoves medicine down Leighton's throat! Bell: Sarah still scrubbing - ref has to pull seething slayer off her foe.

R5: Both girls a little gunshy - both a little more cautious on approach, circling clockwise, measuring distance with jabs before leaning forward. Gellar chopping little right hand accurate to Leighton's face, discouraging the little beauty: Meester shying away, showing leg as Sarah walks her down, makes the fight bell to bell.

R6: Leighton's right (back) heel up off canvas as she pulses straight rights/slaps left hooks to Gellar's head... SARAH'S LEGS GIVE A SHIMMY! Gellar hurt AGAIN by Leighton - Sarah stepping away to regroup, eyes moist with confusion. Meester hopping to the attack - jabbing Sarah into earmuff look, then viciously hacking away at her waist/hips with churning flyweight vigour. Sarah groaning, staggering under the tempest: she's hounded, battered about the ring throughout the retreat. Final minute, Meester about to clean up: SARAH CATCHES HER RIGHTY! That short, chopping right to jaw as Sarah slips in and down... Meester suddenly steppin' shabby in fence post holes, hands limp at temples. Sarah over to offence, hungrily at her foe's waistline with the same side to side slashing lather. Meester beaten to a seat in ropes, sobbing aloud as Gellar works until ref pulls her off.

R7: Gellar hard-eyed, coldblooded... she's hounding her ingenue, dipping in close, releasing hands to the body, then creeping up-torso to claw jugs/face. Meester a buffeted beauty - stumbling away, covering up in spots at the ropes, then lathered out of her positions. Leighton offering back the odd straight right - trying to pick Gellar up coming in: Sarah seeing it well, parrying it aside, then leaning her head in close to smother any follow ups.

R8: Leighton hurts Sarah AGAIN! Sarah caught by a cuffing left hook/clipping left uppercut combo: she's momentarily stumble-bumming around, scrambling to cover up. Meester over to offence off the power shot: she's done a great job of nullifying Sarah's good consistent work with moments of high drama. Second minute sees Leighton lay siege to the Gellar breadbasket - Meester in there bumpin' and a-slugging, tanned shoulders rotating as she stuffs Sarah full of hup-hup leather. AND SARAH CATCHES HER! Single-minded Leighton leaning forward, chin available: pair of swift-clipping Gellar left uppercuts puts Meester wobbly butt. GELLAR now over to offence, releasing her hands in batting, lathering flurries - chasing Meester across ring to far ropes. Gellar heaps on beating, chopping away to midsection as Leighton cries out, crosses arms against torso to help block the hurt.

R9,10: Furious flyweight pace maintained: both girls electing to move in close, snuggle up mouth-on-shoulder and hup-hup-hup to offending bodies. Jugs and tummies snatched at. Chins picked up via tidy, close-in uppercuts. Hooks bite in behind right elbows, carving for liver. Smutty right hand dig up underneath, hoping for sternum. Gellar digs out the 9th, Leighton the 10th...this one goes to the cards. 5 rounds a piece, but all those early Meester knockdowns the difference: UD10 Leighton Meester.

After: Heartbreak: Gellar bleak, staring, sniffing a little - she came off the canvas, answered every shock, but just couldn't make up the stagger. Meester all hugs-and-kisses in her corner: career-making brawl a terrific feather in the cap type bout - Leighton really coming into her own against an unyielding Gellar. "I wouldn't let her take it from me," a scuffed up, battle-weary Meester gushes in postfight. "Oh, she tried - she threw everything she had at me - but I just wouldn't have it. I said it before, and I'll say it again: I'm the best true flyweight in boxing. Ask Sarah if you don't believe me!"
