Before: Girtls very aware of each other in a jampacked bantamweight division—each a possible future champion, both looking to put the other in park—good intensity in prefight. Daniel physically stronger, but Alba with the whippy leverage on her shots can power up when she needs to. Brittany definitely the better combination puncher, but both girls need to prove they can go out and take what they want when things get tough. This is just such an opportunity.

During R1: Alba nice and leggy in the first minute, using every inch of ring, keeping her punches loose and limber. Jessica tightening up in the middle minute, standing flat footed to drill the right cross, twist in tight left hooks, then moving her head as she swivels to to the left, Daniel not getting off-she gets close, and then covers up as Alba beats her to the punch. Final minute, Alba on wide spread feet, leaning in and away to swat hooks off both the front and back leg—Daniel missing, gets caught on the chin and goes wobbly butt. Alba nudging in tight, thump-thump-thump-thump to the chest with a lanky barrage of alternating uppercuts, then rough with her shoulder to bump a groggy Daniel back, Daniel dazed, wide eyed at the bell as Alba gets to her big time.

R2: Daniel shakes it off, takes the fight to Alba this round. Brittany cutting off the ring much better, chopping her jab between the brunette’s breasts, lopping in the overhead right, then looking for opportunistic hooks as Jessica backs out, All Blonde as she walks her girl down, puts punches together, mixes it up choppy to the body and head, Down the stretch, Jessica hopping back catches a GORGEOUS counter left hook, flush on the chin and Brittany’s staggered! Jessica switching to the offense, feints a hook and slings over the top a bashing right, clocking Daniel’s head hard to starboard. Daniel’s curvy legs holding her up—Jessica crowds in close, let’s her long armed uppercuts to the body put some mileage on the wilting blonde. Brittany finishes up stupefied at the ropes—Alba PUMMELLING the belly and breasts with those fearsome licks.

R3: Ladies and Gentlement: “The Round of the Year.” Daniel starts it off with her chopping, doubling it up, stamping in the quick straight right to the teeth and ALBA SCOOTS TO HER BUTT! Jessica slapping the canvas in disappointment, caught flush, hurt badly—she takes 8. Daniel jabs her girl to the ropes, gets busy to that breadbasket—harsh, snapping blows thump off the body as Daniel gets down, digs her fists in, bring’em back sharp to reset. Alba stooping forward, muffling cries of anguish as Daniel tears t up. Brittany working in close, getting underneath the brunette, jerking the odd rising jug-swat to add to the torment, Boozy Alba tries to slug back, wide with her punches—Daniel beats her to a series of hammering lefts and rights on the chin and ALBA GOERS DOWN! Jessica slumping dreamily to all fours, she’s all but out, but summons the gut up to drench Alba in lefts and rights. Jessica slumping into the ropes, then bending forward to shoulder up on Daniel, desperately slipping punches, but she starts throwing back! Alba finding the chin with licking right uppercuts, making Daniel miss, then kissing jaw again. Daniel getting lit up again, blonde’s punches start to spray as Jessica TURNS into a slashing hook, beating the Brit to her own hook—DANIEL staggers back! Jessica on trembling stems steps forward, lashes in a clouting right cross—Brittany’s head lolling badly on impact, blonde on her heels and a SWEEPING hook catches her mouth. Head swivel Daniel and BRITTANY GOES DOWN! Brit out COLD, hands above head in picturesque repose—KO3 Jessica Alba!

After: a new rivalry is born as these girls drain each other’s tanks—Jessica the last woman standing. Alba very good off the ropes, she gets a lot of knockdowns by luring her opponents there and tonight did some of the most effective slugging of her career. Daniel devastated upon coming-to, to come so close to stopping her opponent—all she remembers is beating Jessica senseless. Alba hurting wincing in postfight, but can’t disguise the glee: “That was the BEST! Daniel and her management showed me NO respect coming in here—it was all about Brittany punching through me and moving on up to the championship. Line forms on the right baby—BEHIND me!”
