Before: "Watching Evangeline Lilly work out is like seeing Eliza Dushku or Nia Peeples work pads," says one Celebrity Ring newshound, "she's got that kind of raw talent - a real throw-back type kid." Problem for Lilly - translating that gym work into live fire sessions. "It is different," says Brooke Burns, another fabulously talented fighter who had a shaky start getting her feet wet in the boxing arena. "It's going to be a mental adjustment. Evangeline just has to stay focused, not get discouraged and trust her talent will shine through eventually." Part of the problem for Lilly: quality of opposition - Jaime Pressly another in a long list of pound for pound type girls who've welcomed Evangeline to the FCBA. "I don't know if it's her, or her handlers," shrugs Jaime in prefight, "but this kid is in way over her head. I wasn't fighting Jaime Pressly types until my second year, and I've got a hell of lot more under the hood than Evangeline does. Gonna be another beating - any way you slice it." Lilly in bra style green bikini, yellow vine leaf print - Jaime in neon orange bikini. Small gloves both vixens.

During R1: Nasty shock for Pressly early - Lilly as quick, explosive as advertised. 'Geline with natural leverage on her hook, turning it over oily and clouting Pressly as Jaime's pulling out - veteran blonde taking note of what appears to be Lilly's best punch, talking about it during the break with Krusher trainers.

R2: Pressly making her adjustments - a more tactical, leggier look, more angles. Jaime treating Lilly to a world class jab in the body - blonde stooping, jamming it in there stiff - like she's ramming the end of a two-by-four into Lilly's stomach. Pressly spotting stick upstairs as well, startling Lilly between the eyes - all that poke sets up a fine, drifting right cross late the round that has Evangeline stepping in fence post holes. Pressly admiring her handiwork - she goes back to her corner nodding in satisfaction as Lilly gets enswell on her face.

R3: Pressly cruising now - she's made her reads, time to starting busting Lilly for real. Jaime showing the 'A' leg tonight, in and out on Evangeline, stealing the timetable for the fight. Jabs head and body steering 'Geline, pre-empting her, frustrating her, screening her: she's just not seeing the Pressly right cross as a result. Jaime really leaning into some beauts - lighting Lilly's jaw up flush with scorching rights - blonde smiling as flows smoothly into her follow through. Lilly wobbly butt, stagger-stepping hurt from the midway point on: she's breaking down, just toughing it out as Jaime heaps on the points.

R4: Very confident Jaime Pressly body language into and out of the breaks through 4 - bounce in her step, cocky set to her eyes and mouth - she treats Lilly to a withering, round-of-the-year type beating. Lilly a little shopworn, playing into Jaime's hands - brunette throwing slow and getting nailed in return as blonde turns this thing into a turkey shoot. Jaime rolling under Lilly's right, coming back underneath with a gutting right uppercut to sternum: Evangeline's butt back, chest forward, mouth open in hurt as she soaks up the shot. Jaime outjabbing Lilly, but drawing Lilly's jab just for the pleasure of timing right hands over it: Lilly pounded again and again on her left eye, sent hopping sideways in shock from the abuse. Jaime in and out, so light on her feet - when she's not putting her whole body behind right hands, she's clawing away at the ribs and tummy of her foe with brisk combinations. Evangeline windblown, curvy legs holding her up, but down the stretch she's in tatters. Pressly squared away, feet in a strong bully's stance and she's just going at Lilly methodical. Leaning in close, Pressly lugs leather up thick into the Lilly breadbasket, tapping brunette downstairs to get her begging for slick clipping uppercuts. Lilly gobbling, shipping tremendous loose limbed sock from Pressly - poor brunette reeling on the ropes, face in her gloves at the bell as Jaime chests up and bellows taunts. 10-8 without the knockown - Jaime in complete control through 4 one sided heats.

R5: Pressly showboating, jabbing Evangeline in the face while dangling the right hand low - dropping both hands to torso-weave and slip tired Lilly punches. Evangeline scowling, shuffling as she tries to rally - Pressly maybe lets her off the hook this round as Lilly loses another heat, but manages to get herself together in the face of Krusher clowning.

R6: Pressly's timed Lilly's right hand to the millisecond - cute little shoulder roll with it, back underneath with the ripping right uppercut to sternum: Lilly's legs bend and quiver as she covers up gasping. Midway through, Pressly bats away a gorgeous sequence on her girls trembling flanks, backs up with hands down and EATS THAT HOOK! Lilly stepping-with and clouting Jaime across the chops - blonde spilling hurt into ropes, covering up dukes at temples to receive brunette charge. Lilly baring her teeth, going at Pressly with murderous ripping right hands to the body - blonde crumpling forward, butt-sagging into ropes. Evangeline squares up, eases Jaime back a shoulder, stays on her. Short left hooks cheek and liver, clipping tight right uppercuts - Evangeline putting 'em together compact beats some tasty spank out of Pressly, rolls up her first points of the fight. Bell: Lilly doesn't hear it - ref has to pull hungry brunette off shellshocked prey as fight breaks out in the sixth.

R7: Pressly scowling, irritated - she backs Lilly up with a brace of stinging jabs, rocks her a sliding right cross on the chin, sends her sprawling ropeside a clean-up left uppercut. Lilly ragged, but shaking off the shots better as the fight goes on - she rallies off the ropes, backing Pressly up with tidy lefts and rights out of a stalking crouch. Toe to toe, mouth on shoulder - girls dig in midring and work each other over with tart, snatching blows in tight. Qaulity of the body work unmistakable: those short, ripping punches - both torsos pinking up with hurt. Tidy uppercuts pick up both chins as girls lean in, but it's Lilly finishing up the hook, routinely batting Pressly's pretty tousled head to the side. Jaime looking a little worse for wear after a savage two way trading round - blonde shabby en route to her corner, closing her eyes during the break.

R8: Pressly's jab really busting Lilly up - blonde able to create distance any time she wants, circling to her left on springy legs. Lilly tries to counter the right hand over top, but Pressly got it clocked: nifty shoulder roll, Jaime back underneath with the dependable right uppercut to sternum - she cripples Evangeline, stoops her forward. BITING left hook - Jaime twisting her torso tidy into the punch and LILLY GOES DOWN! Brunette spilling to her back, propped up on her elbows - Jaime lifting her mitts and prancing to neutral corner. Swaying 8 Lilly - ON COMES PRESSLY! Limber limbed blonde shellack - Jaime on wide-spread pins just lathering away - poor Lilly bent over double, trying to slip and roll, but OH the pasting she's taking. Down the stretch, Jaime redoubling her efforts and SHE'S ROCKED A HOOK! Lilly up out of her crouch beats Jaime to left hands - blonde's now rocked and brunette muscles her to ropes! BEAT DOWN THE OTHER WAY! Lilly going to the ribs and waist of her girl with a thunderous drumming - crippling Jaime with furious hustle-punching downstairs, then going to TOWN on her chin! Right uppercuts, whistling left hooks - Jaime leaning back into the ropes in stupor, hands at her waist, facing into blows - she's practically out on her feet. Ruined Lilly wallops away mindless at the bell, falling into Jaime, shrugging her off, loading up again - ref has to pull staggering brunette off as this thing gets groggy in the 8th!

R9: Lilly ALL busted up, eyes swollen to slits: Jaime rib-rocked, mouthbreathing - HER eyes starting to swell - both girls numb, stumbling off their stools. Lilly gets to Pressly with early hooks, clipping and clouting away, belting the mouthpiece of Jaime's teeth and sending her reeling to her left. Blonde hits ropes shabby, covering up earmuff - she's shouting in pain as Lilly sets, rips gorgeous hooks in under the elbows to tear up that gut. Shuddering blows accepted by blonde but she won't punk - second minute, Jaime starts licking back. Lilly staggered in an exchange of hooks, then hurt as Jaime bolo-punches that right uppercut to sternum. Lilly droops forward gutshot - Jaime sidesteps, helping Evangeline face first into the ropes. OH THE SHELLACK! Jaime TEARING at what's left, elbows in, tidy bandy-armed lashing administered and LILLY WILTS UNDER THE BEATING! Evangeline battered in stages to her knees - she's sobbing with hurt, mouth open, trembling - BUT SHE BEATS THE COUNT! Jaime's chest heaving in the neutral corner - she wades in hardhearted and POURS it to an aching, beat down Evangeline. Poor Lilly sitting in the ropes, hands at her ears, head bent low - punches slashing and swabbing across her shoulders and upperback in cascading sheets - Jaime baring her teeth to get Lilly out of there and EVANGELINE GOES DOWN! Lilly drubbed to her knees, rolls to her back - she's RUINED! Bell sounds - Lilly's corner rushes in - Jaime's corner protests at the distraction - Evangeline is saved from KO, revived in her corner as Pressly trembles in exhaustion on her stool.

R10 Crippled beauties lurch groggy to midring, spend a moment circling each other in a shabby parody of boxing stances: gloves collected at mouths, heads only inches apart - it's Lilly starts punching first. Evangeline getting off hooks - just single shots at first - thick wet blows behind the elbow, sweet above the hip. 'Line doubling up on the punch as Pressly droops, doesn't answer, brunette getting the left uppercut off the body shot: there goes Jaime's mouthpiece. Pressly spent, reeling - Evangeline ripping her body and head with snappy left hands, walking her down as blonde staggers away on autopilot. Jaime with nothing left, but does Evangeline have enough? Brunette wheezing forward, bullying Jaime inside at times, bodying her to ropes, but blonde always able to stumble or slide away, buying a bit more time. Down the stretch, Jaime lounging on the ropes right hand at left cheek, left across her body - she's done, eyes closed, just moving her upperbody slightly to try to blunt Lilly's finishing kick. Evangeline open-mouthed, using her left shoulder to prop Jaime up for right uppercuts, mopping up left hooks - it's just one girl stacking another up and belting her senseless at this point. BELL! Jaime out on her feet, but still standing - Lilly spent, still slapping and pushing punches as the ref tugs her away. Comes back UD10, Jaime Pressly!

After: Another loss for Lilly, but finally one she can build on as she stands up to blonde terror and holds her own. Jaime dominant in the first half, really embarrassing Lilly at times, but Evangeline kept her composure, trusting her muscular gymnast's body to come through and this thing was life and death down the back stretch. Both women sent to hospital for routine touch-ups - neither girl will be bouncing out of bed tomorrow morning.
