Before; Classic teacher/student rivalry comes to a head as Hewitt defends for the first time against her former mentor. Both girls nearly identical in the ring, but Hewitt developing more a slugging persona while Packard remains defensive/counterpunching minded. Black string bikini for Packard; black bra and panties for Jen.

During R1: Jennifer gets Kelly’s attention early with a swinging right hand on the jaw that jerks Packard off stride. Kelly hurt, begins trading with Hewitt, and the action favours Jen who gets the better off the exchanges, finishing up repeatedly with a clouting right cross on Kelly’s jaw. Packard shaking her head at the bell, knows she let pride dictate policy in that one.

R2: Jennifer applying pressure, coming out with meaty wide blows to the body and head, hawking at her blonde foe with loose limbed, sweeping blows. Packard `reduced to slipping bobs in front of Jen, but doesn’t punch back as Hewitt rolls to a shutout to take the first 2 rounds.

R3: Kelly tightening up her guard a little, pumps out a stiff double jab, and works to her left as Hewitt comes forward. Jen still looking to slug, can’t find the range as Packard keeps her off. And counters with opportunistic right hands straight from the shoulder.

R4: Packard in a groove working side to side, jutting out a sharp lead right from the shoulder, then immediately bringing the punch back to protect her cheek. Jen getting picked apart, and Packard able to score to turn her opponent with a hand Jen’s shoulder, then rip hooks to the midsection as Jen pivots to square up. masterful Packard boxing as she pulls even o the cards.

R5: Jen staying loose and relaxed, jabs with Kelly early as the girls go flat footed, writhing up and down with slippery upper body movement. Midway through the round, Kelly misses a right hand as Jen rolls with the punch, and Hewitt comes back with a gorgeous right uppercut that snaps Kelly’s pretty head back and puts a deep bend in her knees. Packard hurt, rolls with lefts and rights as she backpedals to the ropes, and covers up as Jen has her way with her. At the bell, Jennifer lets loose a hoot of derision as she bodies up on the disappointed blonde.

R6: Kelly working to her left, doubling up on jabs and hooks to the brunette’s body. Packard staying low after she punches, shouldering Jen back, and doing a better job of slipping Hewitt’s surprisingly hard right. Shutout Packard as she buffs and polishes jhen this round.

R7: Jen won’t give in—she manages to get the better of Kelly yet again in a series of brisk encounters as the girls swap hooks and right hands I close. Leaning in nose to nose, the girls pull back to throw as each tries to time the other’s reflexes. Kelly just a touch slower getting off as Hewitt out-punches her.

R8,9: Kelly shows her championship pedigree with the fight on the line. Jen competitive in each round, but Packard now digging out the exchanges with as much heart as skill, It’s Hewitt getting punched into retreat. It’s Hewitt reacting as Packard keeps up the pressure., Kelly with a short, slicing right hand lead will bend in with the punch, then uncoil into left hands to the body as Hewitt wilts. After 9. Packard in control of the fight and Jennifer starting to look panicky in her corner.

R10: Kelly Packard closes like a champ, coming out tp lay waste to her bust foe. Packard bobbing up and down, works with jerking hooks to the body early, then bends into a cracking right cross on the teeth to spin Hewitt sideways, Jen in trouble, comes back with sidearm lefts and rights to the body, but Packard slipping in and out, picks the brunette up with riveting right hand and wide left hook. Down the stretch, Hewitt looking punchy, and a swatting double left on the chin sets her up for a curling solar plexus shot from Kelly’s right that folds the brunette up, gurgling on the ropes. Kelly punishes the youngster to the bell, working the hips and flanks with wide spanking lefts and rights as Jen covers up. Hewitt in tears at the bell as Kelly braises her mitts in triumph. Decision comes back Unanimous for the once and present 110 champ Kelly P.

After: Hewitt’s come a long way, actually dominating stretches of this fight against a woman who has routinely handled her in the past. Packard admitting to being drawn into slugging with Jennifer out of pride, but down the stretch, the icy cool Ricardo Lopez moves were there, and Hewitt got outclasses. Jen coughs it up, and the two super powers at 110 (Liu and Packard begin to eye one another over the no-woman’s land of Salma Hayek.
