Before: “I promised Jennifer a beating if she ever recorded another lame pop song,” says Christina in prefight, “and she didn’t listen. There’s too many no-talent skanks cutting video as it is—we don’t need Hewitt in the mix.” Jennifer Love entering the underdog as Aguilera’s the bigger puncher, but some pundits see rays of sunshine for the brunette. “If Hewitt can stay calm—she’s a good defensive fighter and Christina’s wide open for counters,” notes one pundit. “I don’t know if Jennifer can hurt Christina, but she should have some opportunities to try. We know Aguilera can dish it out, but if she has to take it, she might become a different fighter.” Christina with blonde dreads, yellow and dark green vertical barred bikini top, solid green bikini bottoms, black shoes—neon blue bikini top Jennifer, red bikini bottoms, white shoes.

During R1: Aguilera out with elbows in, hands up—she likes to step in, sweep wide with either hand, wants to be coming forward, Hewitt looking a little wide-eyed as punches scream into her guard—she’s giving ground, backing straight up in front of Aguilera and that’s not good. Hewitt staying composed, bending deep at the waist to get a shoulder into Christina, stepping out, changing up distance, trying to walk around Aguilera’s left shoulder. Good defensive moments for Hewitt as she avoids a lot of Christina’s power, but blonde the clear aggressor, getting slender hips and limbs into sweeping bombs with nothing coming back.

R2: And THERE! Hewitt fading back, dipping, rolling, bends into a sneaky counter right on the chin, catching Aggy flush. Christina’s right sails over the top as her legs give a little shimmy, but she doesn’t let it stop her, Aguilera determined to walk through anything Hewitt hits her with—Jennifer not following up the potshot, continues to show defensive, stepping back in front of Chris, getting low to use the shoulder bump to the body, swiveling to the right. Christina gets her legs back and continues to show defensive, stepping back in front of Chris, getting low to use the shoulder bump to the body, swiveling to the right. Christina gets her legs back and continues to hurl haymakers, finally jamming Hewitt up against the ropes. Chrissy working hard, girls wrestling for position—Aggy stronger, shoving her brunette into the strands, landing some cracking elbows to the jaw out of the lock-up. Down the stretch, Christina with some swinging right hands low, the walloping over the top finally shakes Hewitt’s legs—Jennifer grimacing, hanging on hurt at the bell.

R3: Aggy leep[s coming, stalking, walking her girl down, stepping in and swinging for the fences. Hewitt covering up, trying to pull the trigger on counters but she’s too selecti8ve, made tentative by Aguilera’s winging aggression. Hewitt bending to the side—Aguilera’s right hand will bounce off the back, then she’ll twist into thumping lefts to the rightside ribs—Jen just letting punches burst off her body while protecting herself as best she can.

R4: Hewitt leaning back, slipping blows—Aguilera lunging, missing the right, but landing a crashing wide left on the jaw—Jennifer sent reeling to the ropes in big trouble. Hewitt on ramshackle legs, watery eyed—she starts to slip roll, clinch—anything to bog down the Aguilera freight train. It’s effective—Aggy charging in, not jabbing, often over-swinging and smothering herself against Jenny—brunette can make blonde miss then wrap her up, hold for breaks. Frustrated Christina warned repeatedly for elbows in the clinches, swinging lowblows and the like—Hewitt getting out of the round, but looking frazzled—Aguilera’s just mauling her.

R5: Spirited trade as Hewitt stands her ground and tries to slug with Chris. Aguilera getting clocked clean, but she’ll take it long as she gets to swing at a stationary target. Slender limbs shivering upon impact, both girls leaving their feet to pull in haymakers, both girls lathering away at each other’s shiny ribcage and plump breasts as fight meanders around the ring. Ali catches up to Hewitt late—girls kissing lefts and rights off one another’s chins—Jennifer’s legs give way, eyes suddenly forlorn. Hewitt staggering to the ropes—Chrissy leaping in, trying to nail her with wild finishing strokes. Once again, Hewitt able to clutch and slip her way to the bell—once again Aggy plundering the trunks and landing cheap on the inside with her left elbow as the ref pulls her off.

R6,7: Hewitt showing heart. She’s getting beaten up by Christina Aguilera, brunette’s face swelling, body cringing when she’s stroked a shot in the ribcage, but she’s still trying, fighting back in spots, making Aguilera work for it. Christina more than willing—after every break—she’s bounding back in, leaning into wrap around lefts and rights, fists just smacking off Jennifer’s sides or guard whenever they’ve not landing flush on the head or stomach. Christina doing bully’s work on the ropes, getting her elbows up high, shoving Jennifer off, then laying it on thick—up underneath with chugging blows, wide up top with walloping clouts. Hewitt wearing down these rounds, taking too many punches on the ropes, but too proud to give it up to the angry little blonde.

R8: Jennifer with gritty early effort. She’s sitting in the pocket, walking Aguilera into the lead uppercut, fading back while dragging the front foot, then catching the blonde with the chopping right hand as Christina wades in. Blonde bulling through all of it, happy to take as long as she can get to Hewitt’s ribcage—after the first minute, JLH goes over to defense. Second minute some pretty stuff from Hewitt as she bends low, uses her shoulderbump to set up sweet pivots around her girl—but Aguilera’s coming on too strong. Down the stretch, Aggy pressure has Hewitt up against the ropes—girls struggling up high—Aguilera using her elbows out of the clinch to shake Jennifer up, then a barrage of swinging lefts and rights thumps home to Hewitt’s breadbasket and crotch, leaving her destitute. Jennifer wilting to a seat on the ropes, sobbing aloud and CHRISTINA POURS IT ON! Aguilera scrubbing away, teeth bared as she slashes in lefts and rights, fists just tearing up Hewitt’s defenses, clouting the brunette’s head side to side AND THE REF STEPS IN! Jennifer spluttering, busted up, helpless—Aguilera strutting away the TKO8 victor.

After: Chris showing she can still be an effective bully when she gets the proper landscape. Hewitt created the openings with her defence, but didn’t take advantage often enough—Aguilera allowed to rampage, winning all 8 rounds and bashing out the stoppage. “Sure I can box,” says Aguilera in postfight, “but why play with these punks? I can slug my way through any girl at 110—that Mouseketeer stylist crap just isn’t me. The fans want to see girls going out—that’s what I give them. Bye bye Jen.”
