Charlize Theron vs. Angelina Jolie 7-28-00

Six weeks after her devastating defeat at the hands of Bell, Theron is back on the trail, taking a tune up against brassy, but smaller Jolie. Angelina not expected to challenge, but Jolie not afraid to talk tough - questions Theron's heart in pre-fight and predicts an upset with a straight face. Jolie in blonde dreadlocks ala '60 Seconds' black sports bra and aerobics bottoms, Charlize in white sports bra, teal aerobics bottoms.

Round 1: Theron taking a look, pokes out the jab and gets caught with a slapping left/right across the chest as Jolie empties the tank early. Charlize retreating in good order, being very selective as Angelina charges recklessly forward, thin arms sweeping in wide arcs. Midway through the round, Theron stops backpedaling, steps in and down to spear a heavy right hand to the sternum and Jolie folds up hurt. Charlize taking her time, looms over the doubled up blonde, lugging punches into the sinewy hips and waist as Angelina crumbles to the ropes. Theron harming Angelina with every punch, pounds away at the girl's sides to the bell. Jolie trembling, clutching at her ribs as Charlize walks calmly to her corner.

Round 2: Theron up tempos - she's seen everything she needs to. Double jabs up the middle break Jolie down, and sharp right crosses start to find the mark, banging Angelina's head to the side. Jolie floundering, stumbling backward - Theron lights her up with a sudden right cross on the cheek, followed by a biting left hook on the mouth to send Jolie spinning to the canvas. Angelina up at 8, but she's cut on the bottom lip and ready to go. Charlize pawing the jab, leans in behind a crunching short right hand, jerking Angelina a quarter turn to her right and dropping her at the ropes. Jolie out on her haunches, lies up against the ropes in a stupor as Theron struts away. KO2 Charlize Theron.

No surprises here - Charlize taking a round to diagnose the problem, then curing it in the second. Jolie with some nice snap on looping blows just physically overmatched - Theron mercifully finishing this one early rather than extending the beating.
