Jen going where only Theron’s gone with any success, taking on big Kathy Heigl at welterweight. Lots of speculation beforehand on Heigl’s ability to get to Jennifer’s body, grind her enough to land some chin music and maybe make this thing interesting—but fight night’s a splash of cold, hard reality.

Jennifer the smaller, tighter girl, but much quicker, dictated with her feet and tireless legs—circling around her jab and putting rigid, ripping lefts and rights against Kathy’s ears in shattering combination. Instead of Heigl getting to the body, it was Garner popping the right off Kathy’s guard, then digging her ribs and tummy with the same furious cluster-punching—shoulder and back muscles rippling into view as Jen tore away. KO came in a series of shattering hooks upside the head that moved Heigl in a boozy stagger to her left—but the groundwork had been laid in the big woman’s legs and tummy in the harsh minutes preceeding. Devastating performance, but Garner looks unsatisfied, scowling as her gloves are removed—Heigl getting a penlight shone in her eyes as she sits dazed in her stool.
