Before: HBO anxious to get one of these two A-list beauties moving: each could be a cash-cow if either could get some momentum going. "My legs will embarrass Catherine's in this fight," says a steely eyed Cam. "She's coming off yet another beat-down loss - she just doesn't have it any more - if she ever did." Jones equally provocative at the podium. "Cameron can't hold a boy, much less a man - it's difficult to see how she can compete with real women. Her legs will be the very first things to quit in this fight - then we'll see who's embarrassed." CZJ in yellow bikini, Cameron in lime green (plenty of recent blog reference on both suits) - white gloves, both vixens.

During R1: Study in contrast. Diaz bouncing on her toes, changing directions, hands down at her waist as she feints Catherine, jabs rangy at her, looks to spike her quick-chopping rights off batting hooks. Jones more compact, more flat footed, stalking: right hand at her cheek, left up and probing jabs off the shoulder - she knows she can't match Cam's reflexes so she's keeping a textbook guard in place. Cam circling in either direction, nibbling, nibbling, then occasionally drilling rights: Jones cutting off the ring, jabbing at Cam's chest to find her, looking to sneak her own short right hand through to chin. Highlights for Cam: bouncing on front (left) foot, left hand raised, knocking jabs against Catherine's skull while pivoting clockwise; pesky one-twos spanking brightly against Jones' bulging breasts. Highlights for Jones: several thudding lefts and rights tossed against Cameron's ribs and middle as Diaz is holding Catherine's head down.

R2: Midway through, Cam hop-pivoting to her left, hands low: Zeta J times a perfect lunge, driving a right hand hard through chin, swivelling Diaz's head and PUTTING CAM ON HER BACK! Catherine all flashing eyes, flaring nostrils stomping back to corner: weepy Cam struggles up off the canvas shabby, reeling at ropes. BEATDOWN! Jones pouncing, pulverizing Diaz with a softening barrage of lefts and rights against the ribcage, then getting all big-girl on her blonde. Jones pushing into Diaz, stacking her up, making her feel weight, then clouting her a close-in right to jaw, or leaning onto right (back) foot to pull bashing hook across. Body and head, body and head - Jones crisp, bumping and mauling as required to stabilize her wilting her foe and CAMERON'S DOWN AGAIN! Drooping knockdown as windblown Cam goes to all fours: Jones sneering in contempt, cheeks rosey red with effort as ref pushes her back.

R3: Diaz frowning, very serious: she cracks Jones a slick lead right hand, batting hook up top to send a defiant message seconds in. Elastic, whippy delivery: there's sting on Cameron's punches, even if she's not heavy handed. Bopping footwork - in, out, all around - Diaz' springy legs proving resilient after a dreadful dose of CZJ bodywork last round. Jones scowling, bobbing and weaving, keeping her hands up - but she's getting pelted and poked while trying to encroach. Cameron never stops moving - not a lot on the punches, but it's all very sinewy and eye-catching: Diaz one of those fighters people would pay to watch shadow box.

R4: Zeta J eating Cam up a little this round. Good stubby jab disrupting Diaz' rhythm - Jones doing a nice job of jabbing-with her sinewy foe. Jones able to half the ring, then quarter it, hounding Diaz effectively - British vixen looking to land with vigour amidships. Cam's ribs taking quite the pasting as she pulls down on Jones' head or sidesteps her: Catherine getting closer and closer with that sneaky short right as Diaz pulls back from a few cudgelling blasts late the round.

R5: Jones showing her compact handspeed: she slips inside the Diaz jab, hooks Cam's ribs, hooks Cam's chin - blonde stumbles wide-eyed to ropes with Jones a-pouncing. Catherine establishing firmly to her foe's breadbasket and ribs now - Jones able to get to Cam's chest, then bully her ropeside: Diaz constantly buffetted and bashed about her bodkin this round. Cam against the ropes usually looks to clinch: either pulling Jones' head down, or tying up head-and-arm. Down the stretch, Cameron wheeling away, leans back from a whistling Jones right: Catherine steps her back (right) foot forward with the punch, unleashes a left cross from southpaw stance CLOUTING CAM ON THE KISSER! SPLASHDOWN DIAZ! Cam caught and dropped as she moving straight back - Jones forcing hard eye contact as Cam props up on elbows, shaking her shellshocked head in wonder.

R6: More CZJ pursuit, heavy hands as Diaz continues to wilt. Cameron occasionally snapping the odd picturesque hook off Catherine's flank, or darting a nimble one-two at her foe's face - but Jones simply refusing to be mesmerized. Catherine the slower vixen, but making up for it with a well-timed, disruptive jab; constant pressure, and; beef at the ropes as Cameron is bodied-down. Jones rough with her head in close, muscular with her shoulders - she's constantly pushing and pawing at Diaz when not slamming away to that svelte torso. Workmanlike points piling for Jones: Cam mouthbreathing at the bell, dishevelled, looking frazzled through 6.

R7: Same again, Jones suffocating Cameron, refusing to let Diaz fight her fight. Diaz hounded to ropes and pinned down bell to bell: she droops forward behind her mitts, absorbing body blows, then leans back ashen-faced, trying to slip the incoming. Cam tying up Catherine's arms or head: Jones just putting her belly on tanned blonde, jamming punches in even when clinched. Jones really able to square away at times and rip her shots to Cameron's body: wince-making spank coming off that golden-brown blonde torso as Catherine hammers out more points.

R8: Diaz terribly exhausted, legs trembling - she's backing away hurt from Jones' jab when Catherine leans in, chases her down with a rocket-right cross. Head-swivel Cam - feet stay put at her upperbody continues to hurtle backward - she CRASHES to canvas all arms and legs, stretching out pretty on her back at Jones' feet. MEDIC! It's SO over: KO8 Catherine Zeta Jones.

After: Wow - Jones taking that wiry, athletic physique of Diaz and simply pulverizing it into a bruised mass of quit: Cam coming-to all herky-jerk with spasms of tears, head lolling side to side as she tries to shake off grog. Best win in some time for Jones - a smart, bluntly effective performance, reducing one of the flashiest fighters in boxing to so much blonde rubble tonight.
