A curious fight: the girl with the skills (Loken) reluctant to use them for fear of her fragile chin; the girl with the heart (Nadine) lacking the wherewithal to solve the geometric problems posed by her lanky, and still very powerful opponent.

Loken would come in at a very solid 155, reminding pundits of her former glory as the FCBA’s premiere athletic big woman—dwarfing Nadine on the scales and promising to make quick wok of the dark-haired internet fitness queen. But from the get-go, Loken seemed content to use her lively legs, long left jab and superior ring generalship to poke and prod her lovely foe, rather than employ her size and attempt to wreck Cori with right hands.

With Nadine bobbing and weaving awkwardly, but effectively—Loken circled left, right foot up in the big toe as she slanted vicious, hard stick onto Cori’s head and shoulders, dancing out of range any time it looked as though Nadine might get close enough to slug. Whenever Cori DID penetrate the blonde’s jab, Kristanna unveiled a new skill the Krusher braintrust had worked long and hard to hammer into Loken’s repertoire: the all-purpose, shameless, clinch-for-ref’s break. Pure catch-and-release—Kristanna chopped and drilled for her points, held and grappled to deny Nadine, and legged out the clock to frustrate the fans as much as her opponent.

In the end, a confidence boasting 10 round duke (7-3 in rounds), and perhaps it was the best thing for Loken to get these kind of rounds under her belt. She went the distance without being hurt or rocked, managed to control a limited, but very strong and hard-hitting brunette, and showed signs of pulling her shattered mental game together after months of gnawing doubt and self-recrimination.
