Before: Fight being promoted as Chavez/Whitaker type showdown, but boxing insiders wondering if Hayek still has the juice to make a fight of it. Salma once a feared Latina destroyer, multi-time belt holder in her prime, but hasn’t had a quality win in ages—girls are starting to use Hayek pretty brazenly as a stepping stone. Pinkett a much-ducked little boxer/brawler—she’s openly hostile to Hayek, very vocal during pre-fight, endearing herself to no one in the process. Pinkett coming to the ring in black cowboy hat, black leather bikini top, black draw string pajama pants; Salma in cream bikini top, red draw string pajama bottoms.

During R1: Girls meet midring, get to punching, Hayek crouching forward, fists in tight—she’s twisting left and right, bringing it hard to Pinkett’s ribcage. Jada lifting a counter right uppercut into Salma’s bread basket, taking Hayek’s blows, then stepping out behind a flicking jab—slowly but surely, Pinkett starts to impose order, moving in and out, positioning Hayek with the stick. Final minute, Jada has Salma shut down from banging jabs to the face—Jada steps out, roams right, steps back in and RAMS a right cross to Salma’s left eye, putting the brunette wobbly butt. Jada pivoting left as Hayek swoons, Pinkett measures Salma with an extended left, then bangs home that heartless right hand again. Hayek toppling—Jada still in question position, she bashes a hook off Salma’s temple, and chopping right hand on the cheek as Hayek droops to the canvas. It’s OVER—Salma Hayek on her face, out cold—Jada Pinkett snarling as she stomps around the ring. KO1 Jada Pinkett.

After: Pinkett can pitch—she sets Salma up sweet with the stick and runs the Mexican legend out of the ring in spectacular fashion. Hayek absolutely devastated at the dismissal—a first round exit against a woman she would have handled easily not 5 years ago. Disastrous performances such a let down for Salma and her fans that Hayek said to be seriously contemplating retirement.
