Before: Confidence builder for Wuhrer. Hard hitting little brunette now in her mid thirties—if she’s ever going to make another run at 110 or sub120, it’s now or never. Kari with a potential blockbuster movie coming out in July—studio wants wins in the ring to back up the marketing—plenty of pressure on the veteran to produce. Angel fighting on the cruise ship circuit and all but forgotten by fans and promoters alike—televised fight her first in 5 years, seen by industry insiders as a must win. Vanessa in pale blue bra and panties. Wuhrer on navy style bikini…

During R1: Wuhrer the aggressor, showing discipline, technical movements throughout her game, Right hand under her eye, shooting jabs straight up the middle—Wuhrer banging back Angel’s head, taking the initiative. Kari’s straightening out her right hand as well, bashing off Angel’s chin, coming back with a biting hook—Vanessa taking hard shots as she is beaten into retreat. Punishing bell to bell beating, dished out from Wuhrer—she walks Angel down all over the ring, puts jabs, crosses, hooks together in pleasing fashion to scorch her opponent for the shutout.

R2: Wuhrer in a slight crouch, chopping jabs at Vanessa’s face. Angel slaps back with panicky lefts and rights, nice bobbing head movement as Kari slips 3 or 4 swiping blows, comes back a compact hook on the chin to unhinge Angel’s  knees. Vanessa hurting, trying to get her feet under her and Wuhrer leans in with a crashing right on the chops.. Head snap Angel—Vanessa toppling forward to her hands and knees—she gives it up all woozy as the ref waves it off. TKO2 Kari Wuhrer.

After: Wuhrer getting it done in impressive fashion—just what the doctor ordered. “I can’t afford to struggle with a Vanessa Angel,” says Kari, “I know she’s not in my league. I wanted to take away her confidence, then dismantle her and that’s exactly what I did.” Wuhrer looking at a nice little schedule on Boxing After Dark—names like Bo Derek, Sarah Jessica parker being suggested, just to get the ball rolling. Angel banished to the dinner theatre circuit with the loss—just another celebrity sob story at this point.
