BEFORE: "I'm really looking forward to this challenge!" Hayden gushes in prefight. "Everyone's warning me about Scarlett's southpaw sneakiness, but I look at her fight with Jennifer Love Hewitt and even though that was JMD, it kinda showed that Scarlett can't handle Big Pressure. That's what I'm gonna bring - Big Pressure - make her rush, create mistakes, and pounce on 'em. She's smart and tricky, but nobody's tricky when they're hurt!" Johannson similarly upbeat - she may be the underdog, but she's quietly confident. "Hayden's having a great year, but I've been studying her pretty closely and I do see holes in her game. It's hard to expose her flaws because she's so energetic and violent in the ring, but I know I can execute on her and get my way. It's gonna be fun - I really don't know what to expect that first time she hits me hard. If I can handle her power, I think I can roll her up over the long haul!" Blistering beatdown, Hayden to Scarlett: blonde girl unleashing a torrent of lefts and rights to waist, putting Scarlett butt-in-ropes, then roaming upstairs to clout Johannson about the head and shoulders. Scarlett in free-fall, getting trounced...she's bending at the waist, trying to roll the incoming, completely unable to answer. Hayd finishes up the round with sickening, straight-sidearm rights slamming onto Scarlett's ribs as redhead cringes face-in-gloves...Panny locked in KO lust has to be pulled off by ref as she keeps pouring on after the bell. Scarlett visibly shaken, blinking away tears, but pulling herself together nicely on her stool during break.

R2: Hayden pouring forward...Scarlett's ready with a stinging right jab, chipping it off Hayden's face, then pivoting counter-clockwise to turn Panny's left flank. Hayden turns, loses velocity...Scarlett able to fit her for poking lead lefts from southpaw stance (so Scarlett's right foot forward), followed by a quick, clip-across, palm-down right hook as Scarlett's shifting weight to back (left) leg. Hayden smoked upon her mouth and brows, getting hit hard here...as she tries to close, Scarlett bends low at the waist, pivots counterclockwise around her planted right foot, and comes up on Hayden's six, just off blonde left flank. Hayd turns, gobbles a pinpoint straight left hand to left side of face: HAYDEN GOES WOBBLY-BUTT! Scarlett icy-eyed, staying on her girl: she leans in close, clips the right uppercut across Hayden's mouth; drops the short left hand in down across the mouth. Hayden stunned, curvy legs holding her up: she crosses arms at her chest, bobbing on the spot: Scarlett lathers right hooks, cuffing Hayd upon the scalp, or digging at Hayden's leftside lats. That's the way of it...Scarlett keeps Hayden hurt and turning, touching her up from the angle, bending deep at the waist and pivoting counterclockwise around the right leg to consistently evade pressure. Bell: Hayden looking spanked, bleeding from left nostril...Scarlett forcing hard eye contact before turning away.

R3: Hayden rushing in, trying to slam the sidearm right onto Scarlett's chin again...Johannson chopping the right jab to stall Hayden's rush; punching Hayd the straight left lead to face, then shifting weight to back (left) leg while clipping across that vicious hook. Hayden lit up by the accuracy, and as she closes for payback...Johannson bends low, pivots to her right, neatly coming up behind Hayden and either clinching her when she turns, or touching her an extra straight left over Hayden's left shoulder. Panny with good pressure throughout the round, and landing hard to Scarlett's ribs at times, but pinpoint chin-clipping has blonde girl wobbly-butt and staggered so visibly that judges have to reward Scarlett with points.

R4: Hayden's rushes losing steam as jabs chip and skid across her face and brows, then she's taking that wicked right hook, and NOW, Scarlett's leaning in to collect an extra straight left on the mouth, and even doubling it! Hayden's face shining up under hard, small-glove touches...Johannson working chip-and-pivot routines to perfection, coming up behind Hayden, hesitating as Hayd turns to get square, then poking blonde girl the extra straight left. Midway through - Hayden getting touched up and turned..she turns groggy to her left, and Scarlett LEAPS in via short, stubby left to left side of Hayden's jaw. Johannson's body carrying into Hayd on follow through and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Clever hard punch/push sends Hayden scooting to her rear - lips pursed "O", eyes shut tight. Scarlett demure to neutral corner, eyes focussed on canvas during the walk, but lips with just the hint of a smile: she's hurting Hayden and both girls know it!

R5: Note of desperation in Hayden's corner fires blonde girl up: she's out with good velocity early, punching stiff, straight rights into Scarlett's body and touching her stiff jabs. Johannson maintains composure...constantly rotating to her right, keeping her lead (right) foot outside Hayden's left foot. Scarlett's right jab eventually subdues Hayden's left, giving redhead air-superiority by the second minute. From there, Scarlett leads with tapping lefts; turns into those wicked right hooks while shifting weight to back leg - constantly sucking Hayden forward, then turning her left flank. Hayden's face a-glow with punishment - she's stubborn and determined here, but just following Scarlett around, taking punches. Bell: Scarlett's confident gaze meets with Hayden's frown of concern: redhead has blonde girl spellbound through 5.

R6: Renewed vigor from Hayden - plenty of jump on the early attack, but Scarlett reading it well, issuing chippy check-jabs with the right hand as she fades back, just measuring Hayd for the straight left to begin the sequence. Panny loses steam as touches pile up: by the middle minute, she's a confused beauty again, gloves at her mouth, elbows in, bobbing and stepping forward as Scarlett applies polish. HARD left hand at the bell, puts Hayden wobbly butt - Scarlett just walking blonde girl in, then leaning close to get weight into left side of Hayden's jaw.

R7: Hayden hard to discourage - she's all touched up, puffy and scuffed by Scarlett's accurate fists - but blonde energy good as she resumes the attack. Hayden mixing things up now - jitterbugging footwork working in and out in a kind of stitch-step; either hand leading - punches coming as stubby straight pokes or sweeping straightarm whacks, head and body. Scarlett's turn to be confused...she's missing as Hayden changes distance, and miscalculating as Hayden changes the timing of her pounces - often catching Scarlett the batting right on the mouth as Johannson's executing pivot-right. Down the stretch, Hayden jitterbugging in and out...she darts in with a right straight down into Scarlett's stomach, pounding the air out of Johannson with a "GUH-H!" Johannson backing into ropes, face-stricken...frisky few seconds of finishing flurry for Hayden as she cashes in at bell.

R8: Hammer and tongs both ways as Scarlett looks to yank back the momentum; Hayden seeks to keep it. Both girls getting lit up: Hayden munching short, slap-chopping left hands on the face as Scarlett leans in close; Johannson yelping from vicious sidearm rights in her ribs, or swept up onto her chin, knocking her onto her heels. High-octane improvisational fighting favours Hayden...she's got Scarlett constantly trying to regroup and rebalance, hitting the redhead hard and consistently. Bell: Hayden's bright blue eyes dancing; copper curls hanging damp across Scarlett's eyes, giving her a slightly ass-kicked aspect.

R9: Hayd pressing up the gut...Scarlett fading, dragging her lead (right) foot in a bucket...fitting Hayd for the intercept lead left, then catching the hook while transitioning weight to right leg. Hayd caught up short, so Scarlett drills her an extra straight left hand to mouth, THEN pulls back onto right leg - bends at waist - pivots clockwise while Hayden's blinking. Scarlett comes up on Hayden's six...blonde girl turns to meet her: Scarlett leans forward, triggering the straight left to left side of Hayden's chin...BUCKLING BLONDE KNEES! Hayden glassy eyed, lips parted: Scarlett pivots-right (just off Hayden's left hip) - sweeping left slams sidearm into Hayden's tummy, winning a bark of pain from stricken blonde. Chopping right hacks at Hayden's left brow, then Johannson clips the right uppercut to chin while executing another pivot-clockwise. Hayden drowsy, stumbling, turning: ANOTHER jamming short left to left side of jaw finaly breaks Hayden's form, sending her staggering backwards to ropes. Deep breath Scarlett, then she's moving in, feinting to Hayden's tummy to get blonde into crossed-arm guard at the body...Scarlett comes up top instead - straight left hand punching Hayden square in the face, driving her head back violently and leaviing her helpless! Hayd's curvy legs hold her up, but she's out on her feet and SCARLETT'S BATTERING HER! Crowd screaming...little Hayden stunned, hands stacked right atop left at her waist as Scarlett kisses swift lefts and rights off staring blonde face and THE REF STEPS IN! Good lord, TKO9 for the winner and NEW flyweight champ - Scarlett Johannson!

After: Hayden wobbling on the spot, then blinking as tears fill her eyes and ref cradles her to safety. Scarlett leaping around all jugs a-jumpin': near perfect execution and gameplan takes Panny apart and stops her in shocking fashion. Scarlett takes a moment to hug the former champ: Hayd sheepish - sporting a nasty shiner on the left eye courtesy all of Scarlett's hard work. "I knew I could do this," Scarlett contends in postfight, "but I still don't quite believe it! Hayden's SO strong...I was drilling her good, hard shots all night long, and she kept shaking 'em off. We were like: 'what's it gonna take to get this girl off her feet' - you know? But we just stayed at it - I knew I was hitting her as clean as I could, so I just kept banking touches, turning her, keeping my back off the ropes. She never really got into that wood-chipper mode, you know? Never really fought off my chest or wore me down. It's just such a thrill..Hayden's SUCH a great champion, so to take her apart and stop her...that's really special!"
