Allen looking to impress as she finally lands her first management contract, but she doesn’t get a cupcake to celebrate on. Swanson once a top contender before falling off the radar screen—blonde a sought after sparring partner hasn’t lost much despite the formal inactivity. What followed would be a nip and tick battle of wills and skills with both women razor sharp on the outside, rugged and stubborn on the inside. Back and forth rounds highlighted by Allen’s withering stick and classy footwork—Swanson’s slinging loose limbed body shots from either hand while leaning her chin out over either Allen shoulder. In the end, Allen won the tenth and deciding round with the girls fencing at long range, punishing each other’s faces with ringing jabs to the bell. With a wide open lightweight division in front of her, Allen as good a bet as any to make some noise. “I want Ashley Scott’s place in line,” Krista remarks in post fight. “She doesn’t belong in the top ten—I do.
