Before: Aguilera in the stiffest test of her career in a bout backed by mucho cosmetics dinero. Cover Girl showering both fighters with money, promos the bout in teen magazines as well as the usual outlets for an astonishing buy rate. Gellar with everything to lose. Aguilera with everything to gain, but Sarah adamant in her superiority. Saying “If she touches me it’ll be a miracle. Aguilera’s going to suffer. Sarah in black string bikini, hair down, Aguilera in pale blue bikini--about 3 grams of fat between the two of them.

During R1: Sarah makes a statement with her first punch, hopping into a walk-away hook on the jaw that sends ripples through Christina’s thighs. All Gellar as she moves inside, palming up on Aguilera’s biceps, grappling, swiping chopping single blows from either hand into the singer’s perky breasts, then back to clinching to frustrate Aguilera this round. Virtual shutout for Sarah as Chris looks uncomfortable inside.

R2: Sarah bending at the waist, weaving her head down low, making Chris miss, and getting in on Aguilera without paying a toll, Gellar working cheek to cheek, stokes Christina’s breasts with constant swatting leather, then twists her nubile frame into digging body shots from either hand. Aguilera still not getting off, laying in with Buffy, but getting nickel and dimed to death in there.

R3:  Buffy stalking a confused Christina Aguilera, stepping with the singer, touching her with the jab, hooking off the jab, then backfisting the left hand off the hook to make constant contact. Midway through the round, Buffy controlling Aguilera with the artful left, leans in and down, dragging a slinging right hand behind her to smash up Christina’s face with a series of potshotting right hand bombs. Aguilera going wobbly butt, bleeding from the nose, and Sarah consolidates by moving inside, grappling the other girl’s arms, chopping at the chest,  and twisting a hook in underneath the ribcage to leave Aguilera vibrating at the bell. Sarah out to a huge lead early, had Christina pulping up already.

R4: Aguilera not going quietly, comes out slugging this round, firing random straight lefts and rights and surprising Sarah with fury. Gellar backing straight up takes a clubbing right off her face and swoons momentarily as Aguilera swarms. Christina stepping around her foe, shows some savvy, leaning into banging right hands over Sarah’s left shoulder and shining up Gellar’s pretty face in the process. By the final minute, Gellar has her legs back, and she begins bending low to give Chris a shoulder in the hips, then stepping out to drop the hook on Aguilera’s chin. In and out, Sarah weaves and hooks, and with second left in the round, she catches Chris throwing a left hook of her own and sit’s the singer down to steal the round,  Aguilera smacking the canvas in frustration, knows she dug herself quite a hole in the scorecards.

R5: Sarah bending into a slinging lead right, following through well underneath Christina’s right hand, and Aguilera is dopey once again, stumbling back, blinking and hurt. Sarah weaving low, lifts nuisance jabs into Christina’s chest, then steps inside to work the body with snapping lefts and rights along the waist. Sarah so confident, so relaxed, resting her cheek on either of Christina’s shoulders while her fists abuse the blonde downstairs, Aguilera moping, grimacing, clutching ineffectually around Gellar’s hips as she takes another tanning this round.

R6: Gellar in the groove, jabbing her way in, setting up shop, getting off with smacking, compact combinations, and touching every part of Christina with a thoroughgoing bet down. Aguilera on her heels, pushing Buffy back by the shoulders, or clinching for dear life, seems to have no answers, Gellar dominant inside, but outside, she is nearly knittable, constantly moving her upper body, luring Chris into tentative offense, and making Aguilera pay with crisp, immediate counters from either hand, After 6, Aguilera is puffy around the face, bruised about the ribcage, and very discouraged.

R7: Christina mounts one of her few effective forays to this point, working the vertical plain with rising lefts to the stomach, chopping overhand rights to the face, and has Buffy reeling backwards to the ropes. Sarah seated on the topes for one of the few times I the bout, bobs and weaves, rolling with Christina’s chopping side to side blows, and countering with short little swats inside Aguilera’s swings. Sarah will bend with her punches, giving Chris little to swing at, then bend back the other way, swatting and clubbing Aguilera with well-timed hacks, Sarah finishing the stronger fighter, but Aguilera’s single right hand early raises a nasty mouse under Gellar’s left eye.

R8: Sarah moving inside again, once more concentrates ion chopping up Christina’s breasts, blocking Aguilera’s wide shots, then dropping the side of a fist onto the bikini top as Christina starts to grimace. By the final minute, Sarah is able to tie up one of Chris’ arms, then clap the free hand against the blonde’s breasts for a very personal beating this round.

R9: Sarah continuing to win the battle of reflexes, blocking Chris, and countering with quick little chopping strokes to the chest or chin, Late in the round, Aguilera stuns Buffy with a changeup, dragging a looping right uppercut into Sarah’s belly and Gellar is HURT! Aguilera sensing upset, pours it on, clubbing wide lefts and rights to put Sarah on the ropes, reaching with the left, and leaning into right hands, putting her little body behind the go-home shots up to and after the bell. Referee pulls Chris off as Sarah looks a little dazed.

R10: Early fury from Chris has Sarah in retreat, but Buffy fights back well backing up, moving her upper body, clipping Aguilera’s jaw with a short left hook, ducking under most of Chris’ leather, then dragging a right across Aguilera’s flat tummy. Sarah staying away the entire round, scrapes little jabs across Christina’s chin, potshots with slinging right hands, and docs a pretty good job of avoiding payback as Aguilera just can’t find the range. One-sided UD10 Sarah Michelle Gellar.

After: Gellar outclassing Aguilera, exposing the youngster’s limited repetoire with a balanced, methodical attack, and peerless defense. Through 6 Chris had barely landed a punch, although the odd haymaker had Buffy admittedly hurt at times. Still, master class lesson in boxing leaves Christina with work to do--Sarah re-establishing her reputation with a vintage performance.
