Prefight comments by Danni Minogue
Biedermann was beaten by Nikki Sanderson in an 8 round decision last time in and will be looking to bounce back. She comes up against Emily Browning who recently took the FCBA flyweight champ, Hayden Panettiere to 9 rounds. This should be a great fight, but I think Biedermann is well rested and Browning will struggle to go the distance.
Round 1
Jeanette straight into stiff jabs, pressing at the Browning guard and backing her up to the ropes, solid jabs rocking Browning’s head back and forth. Browning getting to work down low, ducking and weaving, catching the occasional blow to the head and getting some good shots to Jeanette’s mid-section. LEFT HOOK BIEDERMANN, has Browning starry eyed, another LEFT HOOK has Browning covered up in the corner. Biedermann all over Browning in the corner, firing shots at her body and then catching the RIGHT UPPERCUT as Browning sits in the corner and cops a pasting to the bell.
Kylie: This is getting ugly for the Downunder Girls. Browning was punished that round.
Round 2
More of the same from Biedermann, commanding the fight, leading with the stiff jab and forcing Browning to retreat. She is dancing away but copping hard shots to the face. Looks slow on her feet as Biedermann continues to pound jabs at her face. Midway through Biedermann's lands a left and right rook that send Browning stomping back to the corner in a daze. Biedermann absolutely dominating Browning with quick-fire jabs to the body and chest, and tidy little uppercuts. She’s playing with Browning all the way to the bell.
Danni: A lot of damage caused that round by Biedermann. We predict she wouldn’t go the distance but she is red faced and swelling around the eyes already.
Kylie: The Lioness Girls look like they are outclassing the Aussies tonight at what they normally do best which is brutalising their opponents.
Round 3
Browning comes out fighting this round, someone flicked the switch. She meets Biedermann mid round and gets in and under those Biedermann hooks much easier firing body shots at the mid-section. BIG HOOK to the ribcage and Biedermann is hurt, she might go down. Browning backs her up with a SOLID UPPERCUT to the chin and Biedermann instantly covers up and backs right off. Browning tracking her down can’t land the punches as Biedermann starts to use the ring. Late in the round Browning has her trapped again picks up where she left off, jamming jabs into her ribs, weakening he knees at the bell.
Danni: Better round there by Browning, really took the fight on and needs more of that dominance to overcome Biedermann.
Round 4
Browning out quickly again and she is placing the jab perfectly between the Biedermann guard, she wasn’t expecting head shots and she is copping them from all angles. OH RIGHT HOOK Browning and down goes Biedermann, flattened by a huge blow to the left eye. She is on her knees blinking it off, watching a drop of blood splash to the canvas. Slowly up at 7, Biedermann hurt, wobbly, shaking it off as Browning charges in and blasts away at the Germans face, searching for another knockdown. Hard uppercut lights Biedermann up flowed by another which has her on shaky legs. Biedermann soaking up the punishment, clinches her way to the bell.
Kylie: Wow what a turnaround. The German is really struggling now, what a difference a round makes.
Danni: Yes Emily possesses a big right hook and when she is on her game you don’t get up from it. I’d say Biedermann was lucky there.
Round 5
Biedermann literally stays in her corner, as Browning hunts her down. The German tries to dance away but Browning corners her with roundhouse hooks planting her in the corner. Browning pounding away at the Biedermann guard, left jab, right jab, LEFT UPPERCUT nearly puts the German down, RIGHT HOOK Browning but she is still on her feet. Biedermann falls onto Browning, beat her fist into the Aussies ribs. The Ref forces her off and she slips out of the corner, sidestepping along the ropes. Browning can’t find a whole midway through but she is patient, sizing the German up with jab. Final minute, two more really hard shots have Biedermann backpedalling to the ropes and the bell saves her from more punishment.
Kylie: I’d say Emily goes ahead after that round. Biedermann hasn’t troubled her since the second.
Danni: She holds the fort at the moment but I still think she needs to finish this in the 6th or 7th or she will run out of gas.
Kylie: It will take her best punch to put Biedermann down and I don’t think she has it in her tonight.

Round 6
Biedermann bravely comes toward Browning, ducking the first jab and landing a nice blow to the Aussies gut. Both girls propping and swaying, taking shots to the guard and offering something in return. Midway through they really up the ante, punching it out, blow for blow. Neither girl can land a telling blow. In the final minute Biedermann slows, backing away from the slugfest. Browning tracking her releases a solid left jab followed by a HARD RIGHT HOOK which rattles the German, she tries to regroup but takes another LEFT JAB in the mouth. Biedermann swaying at the bell.
Danni: That right rook has opened up that cut under her left eye. Biedermann really looked like she had reset herself but should never have got into that exchange.
Kylie: Will this be the round then Danni.
Danni: I think so. I think Browning has to knock her down here.
Round 7
Biedermann slow off the stool, Browning circling looking for the opening. The Aussie leading with the jab, and then twisting into hooks but they bounce off the guard. Biedermann replying with soft body shots. Midway through is toe to toe action again but clearly two girls who are tiring. Both are taking hard shots but can’t land the knockout blow. Biedermann persisting with body blows trying to wear the Aussie out, Browning staying up top bouncing little hooks and uppercuts off Biedermann’s face. The Aussies hooks getting the better of the German through the final minute but still not enough to put her down as the bell ends the round.
Kylie: This is a classic example of two girls who tried to punch each other out in the first few rounds and do not have anything left to end the fight,
Danni: Look Browning is well and truly on top, she just needs to rattle Biedermann off those strong legs.
Kylie: Easier said than done sis.
Round 8
Browning looking for the finishing punch, quick to meet Biedermann and fire that jab into her guard. Splits her up the middle with a SOLID LEFT JAB, and then backs her up to the ropes with another. Biedermann covers up as Browning starts to swivel and prop searching for the opening to ram home the money shot. Biedermann offers nothing but covers up well, forcing Browning to fire shots at her forearms and in behind her elbows. During the final minute, Biedermann launches a hook to the Browning ribcage which has her wincing and another makes her think twice about staying around on the attack. Brilliant recovery Biedermann but the bell stops her from capatilising.
Danni: Another round to Browning, she easily has the fight on points. Such a brave performance by Biedermann, she came out of that well when others would have gone down.
Kylie: Only one she can win the fight though now, she must knock Browning out.
Round 9
Browning and Biedermann mid ring, ALL OUT PUNCHING. The German throwing head punches for the first time since the 3rd, catching the Aussie with a lovely uppercut in the button, Browning buzzed, fires back a straight jab which rocks Biedermann’s head back and forth, punch for punch for the first minute until both girls take a breather on each other and the ref forces them apart. A searching middle minute whilst they gather up the energy to go again but once more it is Browning finishing strongly with hooks and crosses through the guard of the German. A flurry of punches at the end means more points to Browning who bounces away with a fist pump at the bell.
Danni: She senses she has this sis.
Kylie: Yeah Biedermann hasn’t been able to put Browning down in the close exchanges so either a minute of retreating and solid defense or a knock down from Browning will all but wrap this up.
Round 10
Back to the middle for another slugfest but Browning nails Biedermann a swift jab on the nose followed by another to the chin. Biedermann lets fly with some wild hooks which Browning simply ducks and launches into a RIGHT UPPERCUT off her hip that smashes into the Germans jaw and sends her back pedaling to the corner. Browning in low working the body with crunching hooks to the ribs and another RIGHT UPPERCUT on the chin. Biedermann swaying on the spot as the Ref closes in to make the call. Another RIGHT UPPERCUT by Browning but the German fires back a couple of jabs that have the Aussie stunned. Biedermann sliding along the ropes as Browning comes on again working the body with hard shots but takes a couple to the forehead. Biedermann gallantly holding on as Browning pounds her mid-section and fires in the RIGHT JAB which puts Biedermann’s head over the top rope on the bell.
Danni: Jeanette Biedermann has managed to stay upright against one of the best closers in the AWUBA at Fly.
Kylie: Browning showing signs of fatigue mid-way through though.
Danni: There it is, UNANIMOUS DECISION Emily Browning!
Kylie: So the Aussies finally get one but not without a huge struggle. Lioness Club 2 – Downunder 1.
