BBU Stable Welterweight Tournament: Quarterfinals

The final fight of the first round of the Welterweight tournament sees Wunmi Mosaku of Foxfire Atlantic taking on Javine Hylton of Beever's Babes.

Wunmi looks good in a pale blue one-piece, while Javine's in a dark blue bikini.

Round 1:

The girls meet quickly in the center of the ring, Wunmi leading with a right that catches Javine square in the face, but Javine manages to counter-punch with a left hook that clips the younger girl across the chin. It's this second shot that wins the short exchange, as Wunmi seems momentarily stunned, allowing Javine to follow up with another hook, and then a few quick jabs, backing the girl up against the ropes. Though Javine's punches are landing nicely, the damage seems almost negligible past the first, as Wunmi shakes it all off, deflecting Javine's next jab and countering with a hard shot the body which wobbles her legs. She clinches to remain upright, managing to as the round ends.

Close round, but it was that last shot from Wunmi that seemed to do the most damage.

Round 2:

The former Welterweight champion now approaches Wunmi more carefully, seeming surprised by her power. She keeps her at bay with light jabs, trying to use her reach to keep Wunmi from getting in too close. This seems to frustrate Wunmi, who forces her way in and clips Javine with a jab. She swings wildly with a strong right hook, but Javine manages to draw back, causing the punch to just brush by as she answers back with a hard left jab to the face. Wunmi finally seemed to feel that one, as Javine follows up with a few shots to the body, trying to soften the girl up and look for a better opening. Wunmi keeps her guard high, however, absorbing the body punishment to the bell.

Javine's round, but she's going to need to do more to knock her out.

Round 3:

Javine is back to being the aggressor, again going to the body, but the blows seem to be doing very little. Wunmi keeps her guard high, not giving Javine the opening to her face that she desires, and answering back with the occasional tentative jab that brushes Javine's face. Javine stays committed to the body, trying to break the younger girl down, even at the expense of eating a few more jabs to the face. Finally, Javine backs away, accepting the little progress she has made, and guarding high as her right eye seems to be swelling slightly.

Close round again, though Javine's the one feeling the damage.

Round 4:

Both circle each other slowly for the opening seconds, looking for an opening. Finally, Javine steps in, landing a right just between Wunmi's gloves... But Wunmi answers back with a hard left hook that sends Javine spinning to the mat! Javine looks absolutely shocked, staying down more out of surprise than anything, but she beats the count at 8. Before she can even react, however, Wunmi comes in with some hard body shots, weakening the girl's knees, then plastering her with another hook that sends her down once again! This time Javine barely beats the count, up at 9, but she seems lost. She clinches desperately, absorbing a few body shots but hanging on to the bell.

BIG round for Wunmi. Her power has Javine dumbfounded!

Round 5:

Though Javine looks quite hurt, she doesn't back down, moving right in and plastering Wunmi in the face with a quick combo! Wunmi didn't seem to be expecting it, as she tries to answer back with some jabs of her own, and the two just begin pummeling each other, neither wanting to give an inch! It's finally Javine's body that seems to be breaking down, as she clinches. Wunmi pushes her off, going low and digging some punches hard into her midsection, when suddenly Javine answers back with an uppercut, catching Wunmi right in the chin! Wunmi's head snaps back, and now it's Javine's turn to move in, her target being the face as she snaps off hook after hook, trying all that she can to send Wunmi to the mat. She fails, however, as the bell rings, and she stumbles back to her corner looking both hurt and dejected. Wunmi, however, is now not looking much better.

Close round, but it's Javine that took the edge in the end, fighting through the pain to keep herself in this fight.

Round 6:

The two meet in the center of the ring once again, both looking hurt, but they go right back to trading blows! This time it's Javine that gets the better of the exchange, however, as her jab begins to snap Wunmi's head back, stumbling the girl into the ropes. Wunmi tries to cover against the abuse, but Javine's summoning up power and energy that even she probably thought was gone! She rocks Wunmi with shot after shot to the face, hard jabs, hooks, and even uppercuts all finding their mark. The referee has finally seen enough, stepping in and saving the now responseless Wunmi.

Javine Hylton stopped Wunmi Mosaku in the sixth round.

Wunmi is out on her feet, having to be lead to her corner. Javine almost falls to her knees herself, beaten, but still glowing with the hard fought victory. She is the final competitor to move on to the next round.
