Again, this is a fight between two underachievers, but the 28 year old Cheryl feels she is on the upward path again, and looks for another win against 22 year old Frankie, who is also gaining a little confidence.

I have to admit that Cole looks damned fine in that red bikini outfit, probably better than Sandford in the blue one-piece, but that doesn’t get any points from the judges!

Round 1

It’s a quick start from these two – I don’t think they like one another much! Cole’s throwing plenty of leather at Frankie, but the youngster’s staying mobile, and she lumps a few nice ones into Cheryl’s ribs – and Cole’s hurt! Tough times for Cole here, on the ropes, taking it from Frankie, and the youngster’s got her! She nailed Cole with a right hook, and put her on her ass – she’s up at 7, but that was bad news for her, and Frankie’s swarming over her, landing plenty of shots to her body, with Cheryl covering up and clinching – that was a great start for young Frankie!

Round 2

Frankie comes out all guns blazing, but Cheryl’s boxing her nicely now – good stuff from the Geordie, smacking her jab into the kid’s face, and Frankie’s getting the rough end of this now – getting reddened up a bit round both cheeks, and hasn’t got much defence going on – she’s trying to land her own punches instead. The girls are standing toe to toe in the middle of the ring and hitting one another, but Cole’s shots are sharper, and she’s on top at the mo.

Round 3

Frankie’s still lobbing some heavy punches at Cheryl’s bod, and she’s getting through this time, with Cole backed up to the ropes, taking punishment, but not wilting, just holding and clinching when she can. Frankie’s frustrated here, but she must be careful, or Cheryl will take advantage, and the older girl lands a nice couple of jabs, tipping Frankie backwards, then gets a hard right in the belly which slows her down, and – nice try, Frankie – the kid went for an uppercut, flashed it past Cole’s face as she jerked her head back, and that could have finished her if it landed.

Round 4

It’s the same story as we start off the fourth – Frankie’s getting through with those body shots a little more, too, and she’s got Cheryl up against the ropes there, huffing and puffing, throwing the leather at her. Cole’s still taking the punishment well, though, but this has to be weakening her, even though she is blocking around half the stuff Frankie’s throwing at her. She’s clinching again, now, and pulling Frankie around as much as she can, and she’s turned her too, lands a jab or two in the kid’s face and the youngster may look pleased at the end of that round.

Round 5

Cheryl looks a little quicker as the resume, and she’s boxing nicely, with Frankie not looking so aggressive any more, and she’s taking the Geordie’s jabs in her face one after another, and she isn’t taking them too well – in fact, she’s cut! It’s not bad, just in the corner of her right eye, I think, but Cole’s grinning – you b###h! – and she tapping her gloves together, then slipping into the kid again, and that’s hurt her. Cole landed aright hook right on the button, and it wobbled Frankie, but she stays upright, and she’s hanging onto Cheryl, and saying something in her ear – don’t know what, but Cole’s looking annoyed!

Round 6

Still don’t know what Frankie said, but Cheryl’s pretty angry right now, and that’s a great combo to Frankie’s face – big right hook at the end, now again, yep – Frankie’s on the floor, couldn’t take that hit from Cole. She’s up, but she’s wobbly, and Cheryl’s punching her face really hard – another right hook, landed round her ear somewhere, left hand follow up – aww, down she goes again, and there’s more blood from somewhere on her face – nose I think! Again she gets up at 8, - there’s not long left, but Cheryl’s hit her in the gut now, and she’s going to – no that’s the bell!

Round 7

Can Cheryl finish this fight off – she was nearly there just now! But she’s calmed down, and she’s gone back to boxer-style now – weird! Lucky for Frankie though, and she’s recovering – eye looks a bit sad, but I’ve seen worse, and she’s fighting back, giving Cheryl a couple of digs in the ribs when the girls clinch, but she gets another couple of hits in the mouth for that, and she’s on the ropes here, getting sorted out, her head really bobbing to and fro as she tries to ride those punches.

Round 8

Cheryl Cole’s grinning that smug grin of hers again, and she’s making Sandford look bad – she’s standing off, jabbing her silly from distance, almost laughing at the kid, who just can’t get near her, her head getting popped back and back and back by simple and effective boxing. It’s good points scoring stuff from Cole, and Sandford can’t do anything about it!

Round 9

Good punching by Cole again off the stool – she’s giving Frankie’s face a battering – the girl backs away, but Cheryl’s got her going again, and she’s down, Sandford got caught with a right to the chin, and she’s in trouble, but up again – ref got to 8 that time – back comes Cheryl, giving Frankie what for, putting her back on those ropes, but well done Sandford! She turned Cheryl around, and she’s hit her smack in the mouth with a great shot – now the older girl’s hanging on to stay upright, and this might not be over yet!

Round 10

These girls are shattered, but Frankie has to knock Cheryl out to win this, I’d say. She’s having a go, too – that’s a great left hook to the cheek of Cole, and there’s the uppercut again, grazed Cole’s lips on it’s way past, and Cheryl’s looking unsteady, might go down – does go down! Frankie ripped her in the mouth with a left hook, and Cole’s on all fours. She beats the count, but she’s really had it, I think – clinches Sandford though, tying the kid up, and there’s not long to survive, with Frankie trying to free herself – good one to the ribs, and Cole’s stuck in the corner – c’mon Frankie! Got her again with a left, but that’s the end.

What a fight! And here comes the decision – it’s unanimous but close on a ll three cards, and Cheryl Cole has beaten Frankie Sandford on points!

Well, that’s squared the match up, and will do Cheryl’s confidence plenty of good – she’s going to need it if she’s going to fight Geri Halliwell next though – Geri hits hard!
