BBU Bout: Front Street Japan vs Beever's Babes

The first fight pitches singer Alexandra against model Sayuri, the Japanese girl five years older than the Brit, who has had a stop/start career in BBU boxing to date. Sayuri is lean and keen, and Alex rather stern looking tonight, after being insulted by the Japanses girl at the weigh-in when she called her ‘ugly’.

Into the ring they come, with Alex wearing a red bikini, and Sayuri wearing a black cut away one piece, in which she looks superb.

The girls give each other the obligatory stare as they are given their instructions, then return to their corners.

Round 1

Both girls are keen to start well, and they exchange jabs in mid-ring immediately, with Alex rocking Sayuri’s head backwards, and the older girl having to cover up. Alex is encouraged by her progress, and she keeps up the pressure, cuffing the Japanese girl to the body and moving her around the ring. Sayuri seems a little shocked at the pace of this round, but she comes back well towards the end, firing some nice little shots into Alex’s face, even though she has to cover up late on with the singer banging away to her body again.

Round 2

This round follows a similar pattern, the action fast and furious, with Burke looking for Anzu’s ribs and flanks, and the Japanese girl keeping her defence tight, holding when she needs to, covering up well. Alex is very keen to hammer Sayuri to the body, knowing she needs to sap the girl’s energy, but the older girl is canny, and she’s tying the singer up in knots, constantly slowing her down by entwining her, leaning into her and frustrating her. Finally, in the last 30 seconds or so, Anzu opens up, swaps punches with Burke, and has the Brit swaying as she lands a combination of four punches to her face, each one spatting the singer’s head sideways – Alexandra takes the round, but that was an ominous finish!

Round 3

Alexandra comes out in the same mood again, and gets to work on Sayuri’s body, landing two heavy left hooks, making the Japanese girl wail and clinch, frustrating her. As they are broken Sayuri lands a sharp left, right to Alex’s face, and the Brit staggers backwards, stunned by the speed of the punches, then she collects some more leather, as Sayuri turns up the heat, her gloves a blur as she wipes Alex’s head from side to side, landing eight, nine punches without reply, and Burke goes to the floor, head swimming, and a lump swelling under her right eye. On her feet at 7, still a little groggy, Alex takes another good punch smack on that swollen cheek, and she’s on the ropes at the bell, her face again taking fast punches.

Round 4

Sayuri s quick off her stool, and soon resumes giving Alex’s face the treatment, thudding her left glove repeatedly onto her damaged cheek, then ripping her to the body for the first time, getting a hard shot into the singer’s liver, which really hurts, has her reeling back and into the ropes, then the left hook again – and she’s cut Alex Burke’s eyebrow open with that, follows up with a stunning right hand to the mouth, and Alex goes down again, blood running down her face, but is on her feet at 8, not yet steady, but able to continue, and she bravely tries to take the fight to the model, only to get bumped back to the ropes, where she gets her face well beaten once again, and now she’s bleeding from the nose as well, with bell coming as a blessed relief.

Round 5

Alex really looks badly battered now, but the singer has courage and she still manages to barrel forwards into Sayuri, pushing the model around, but still taking too many punches. The Japanese girl may be defending, but she’s stuffing short right and left hand punches into Alex’s face, blood smeared across it from her eye and her nose, and she peppers her with punches as she moves her to the ropes, but Burke’s keeping her guard up well, foiling Anzu’s attempts to finish her off. Even so, she takes enough punishment in this round for it to be another one to the credit of the pretty little model, who is in total control.

Round 6

Both girls seem a little tired in this round, with Alex understandably cowed, her face badly busted up, and now Sayuri’s hitting her to the body as well, picking her punches, hurting the Brit with pretty much every one, and the singer’s offering nothing back, just trying to cover up and prevent further damage. Who can blame her? Well, most of the fans in the arena, really, who have paid to watch action, not a running display. On the subject of display’s Sayuri’s handing Alex a boxing lesson late on in this round, just jabbing the girl’s face with speedy shots, opening up another cut, under her left eye this time.

Round 7

Alex is still game, but this is a tough evening for her to endure, and she’s getting banged up to the face once more, tries to turn her head away from Sayuri’s damaging right hook – and walks into her left, smack in the kisser, and down she goes again. Poor Alexandra, she scrambles to her feet, beats the count, but gets stopped anyway – she really has been well beaten tonight.

That was a good performance by the little Japanese model, and the British fans seem to like her, cheering her as she parades around the ring after the fight, milking their applause, while Alexandra is taken away by doctors – she will need stitches in those cuts, sadly.
