BBU Bout: Beever's Babes vs Front Street Japan
(Site: BBU Arena, Cardiff, Wales, UK)

Next up is a clash between two pretty girls with bodies to die for – and these two have also swapped insults at the weigh-in, with Aya threatening to bust Gemma’s face up, the beat her senseless, and Gemma calling Aya a ‘nobody’.
The girls enter the ring from opposite ends, with Gemma in pale blue bra and pants – jaw-dropping – and Aya in a black bikini – wow!.
The girls won’t even look at each other pre-fight, and clearly can’t wait to fight.
Round 1
The girls are both keen to start well, but it’s Aya who lands the first punches, good, jolting blows to Gemma’s face, whipping hooks under the blonde’s guard, and making her cover up, hold and clinch. Gemma has been hurt by those punches, and she’s no longer looking confident, as Aya hits her hard in the left flank, then left jabs her to the mouth, then to the belly, and Gemma’s getting taken apart in the first round here – she must get her act together. At the bell, she’s just clinging to Aya, who is grinning to her corner.
Round 2
Aya attacks Gemma quickly, but the blonde is better prepared this time around, and she fights back, spitting her left jab into Aya’s face, the getting after her with a booming right, and landing it to her body, then her face. Now it’s Aya who’s hanging on to stay upright, with Gemma popping pinches into her body for a pastime, pushing her back to the ropes, then landing left and right hand shots to her face, with the singer not looking for any defensive moves, and she tries to fight her way off the ropes, then gets hurt with a left hook to the ribs in a final flourish from Merna.
Round 3
Now Gemma begins to dominate the fight, and she’s beginning to move Aya around the ring, keeping the centre for herself, and prodding the pretty Japanese girl’s face with her jab, reddening her cheeks, then she’s tucking into her body a little, Aya not looking so confident any more, and fells the brunette with a right hook to the jaw. On her feet at 5, Aya pumps a couple of good jabs into Gemma’s face as she fights back, but the blonde is getting to her body well again as the round progresses, and it’s Aya looking the worse for wear at the bell.
Round 4
Aya starts the round better this time, and she clips Gemma’s mouth again and again with her quick jab, the blonde’s head getting knocked backwards with each blow. But Merna’s not discouraged, and she clubs two good right hooks into Ueto’s flank, hurting the girl for sure, then chops a shortened hook to her face, and sits the Japanese girl down, the singer shaking her head and pounding the mat in frustration, but on her feet at 6, and ready for Gemma when she comes in for more. The big-punching Brit gets s swift face full of glove from the Japanese girl, who whips a left hook into her mouth late on, sending the blonde to the ropes as she fails to capitalise on the knockdown.
Round 5
Gemma looks shaky at the start of the round, and now Aya gets her sharp combination punching going, and Gemma’s going backwards! The blonde girl’s taking a drubbing in the early seconds, with Aya finding her range, and she can’t launch a counter attach effectively, having to concentrate on defence, just trying to keep the swift handed girl at bay, getting trapped on the ropes, and having to clinch on occasions to get out. Late in the round Gemma lands a good shot to Aya’s ribs, which gets her some space, then gets her with a right hook, staggering her, then she follows her in, but the singer smacks two good punches quickly into her face, and the Brit ends the round on the ropes, a lump on her right cheekbone.
Round 6
Aya is starting to dominate Gemma as the round starts, her punches now landing a little too frequently for the blonde actress’s liking, and that lump’s getting bigger and redder, with the singer belting Gemma’s face as hard as she can. Gemma’s still trying to work to Aya’s body, but she gets caught with a straight left which stops her in her tracks, then a right hook to her damaged cheek sends her to the canvas, clearly hurt. Gemma’s up at 8, but she’s not steady, and Aya comes in hard, looking to finish the blonde off right now – her punches landing again to those bruised features, but then Gemma manages to tie her in with a good clinching, and she sees out the round.
Round 7
Aya’s homing in on Gemma’s swollen cheek, landing accurate punches, and sending the blonde teetering backwards, her gloves finding their target again and again. Gemma tries to fight back with a flurry of punches to Aya’s body, but there’s little venom in them, and Aya crashes a straight right hand between Gemma’s defensive gloves, sending the blonde to the canvas again, the blonde on her back and dazed, not looking sure how to get up, but she does, at 8, her feet not entirely steady as Aya clubs her jaw with a lovely right hook, that almost puts her back down again, the Brit holding on to stay upright, and taking a peppering through to the bell.
Round 8
Aya is ahead again now on most cards, but the girl seems content with her efforts to date, and she’s just contenting herself with bopping Gemma’s face with her left jab and keeping the blonde on the move. Gemma hasn’t got much left in the tank, and she’s pretty much just taking anything the Japanese girl has to hit her with, her right eye almost closed, and her left is cut now, with Aya’s punches clearly doing plenty of damage to the Brit’s pale skin, which now looks terribly rough and sore, having been battered by those leather Japanese gloves so relentlessly. The round ends with Gemma against the ropes, and Aya flipping sweet punches into her face, not enough to floor her, just bruise her up some more - cruel.
Round 9
Gemma’s not quick to resume, and Aya soon has that blonde haired head bleeding again as she crushes her gloves into Gemma, just using the girl as a punchbag, and soon begins to work her to the body too, the poor girl really soaking up the punishment from this singer, who seems to be sending out signals to the rest of the BBU. It’s a second successive bell-to-bell beating for the Brit to endure, and she’s surely taken enough punishment now, just slumping on her stool at the bell, busted up and in dreadful pain.
Round 10
Forcing herself to come forward in a desperate attempt to win points back, Gemma bravely hits Aya to the body early on, but the Japanese girl stays on the move, responds well by smacking good jabs into Gemma’s face, then loosens her up a little more by switching to the body. Gemma’s on quaking legs just past the midpoint, and Aya gets to her, catches her cleanly to the mouth with her left glove, and Gemma hits the floor for a third time in the fight, struggling to get up again. She beats the count at 9, but she looks done for, and Aya hits her again to the body, then again, but somehow the blonde girl makes it to the final bell.
The result is unanimous – Aya Ueto beat Gemma Merna on points.
There is only one question after this fight – why did Aya not finish Gemma off? She clearly could have at any time from round 7 onwards.
