The second fight of the Lioness Club vs Kear Kats Vol. 2 event features Elodie Frege (who is making her debut in front of the North London crowd) and Amy Childs. Both girls are in desperate need of a success; Frege has only won once this year and suffered ten losses in the proccess while the inexperienced Childs was knocked out early in both her BBU fights to date. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Elodie Frege wearing a navy blue bikini and black gloves. Amy Childs wearing a black bikini and red gloves.
Round 1: A very cagey start from both girls, throwing some fake punches and not trying to engage in any significant aggression. Frege has much more experience under her belt, but all those losses dented her confidence and she's not taking anything for granted against Childs early on. After some lenghty circling around in the ring, the crowd starts to yell and whistle, showing their displeasure. Frege moves on her rival late in the round and tries a left-right combination but Childs blocks that off and throws a stiff jab in response that misses the blonde's head by a mile. Both girls continue to keep the distance until the bell and at the end of the round, the whistles in the crowd are getting louder and louder.
Round 2: Elodie still with a very serious look on her face steps in on her rival early in the second and throws another combination that gets blocked by Childs' guard. The redhead responds with a hook to the ribs and this one lands well, forcing the French singer to jump away. Childs refuses to pounce on this opportunity and keeps a high guard. Elodie circles around and tries some jabs to the redhead's midsection, but they are very weak and most of them don't even reach Amy's body. Generally, it's another poor round of boxing with both girls lacking skill to ignite some fire into this fight and all the solid punches can be counted on the fingers of one hand at the conclusion of round two.
Round 3: Frege's coach Gina Wild is furious at her girl during the interval, urging her to attack the redhead instead of playing some weird tactical games in the ring. Elodie nods her head in approval and she indeed finally gets something going after the bell, jabbing with much more intensity. Amy's guard holds up well though and she blocks almost all of the blonde's punches. She tries to respond with a couple of hook to the ribs, but Elodie jumps away in time and avoids getting hit. Amy still very hesitant in her approach allows Elodie to land more jabs from the distance and subsequently take this round on points.
Round 4: Not only is Amy much more defensive than Elodie so far, but also much slower across the ring. Early in the fourth, Frege circles around the redhead and forces her against the corner where she tries some low jabs to the stomach. They crash off Childs' arms however the redhead is slow raising her gloves for the follow up and gets nailed in the nose by a nice uppercut. That was the best punch this fight has seen and forces Amy to bend forward and clinch in despair. Elodie didn't unleash a combination quickly enough to really stamp her authority on this bout and has to deal with Childs' dragging her down. A brief struggle in the corner takes place before referee separates both girls and sends them back to center of the ring. Elodie tries to launch another combination, but Amy jumps away and begins to circle around the ropes herself. The blonde looks for a way to back her into a corner again, but her efforts are soon stopped by the bell.
Round 5: It's the first time Amy has gone beyond four rounds and she surprises Elodie by coming out fast off her stool and landing a stiff jab right to the French girl's nose. Elodie didn't even try to fake a guard and took that one straight in the middle. Her head sprung backwards and Amy suddenly jumps up to her and begins jabbing her tummy. Frege gets pushes to the ropes where Amy unleashes a chaotic flurry of punches, trying to land them wherever possible. A couple of hooks graze of the blonde's head and some catch her in the breasts but overall, Amy wastes more energy on purely fruitless efforts. The damage she's caused forces Elodie to clinch though as she looks to survive this tough moment. Childs still jabs her in the ribs even though they are locked together but the referee deems there was some lacing involved and separates them for good. Back in center of the ring Childs throws more punches to the head but this time Frege's guard works well and prevents her from taking any more punishment. However the redhead has done enough to win this round on points.
Round 6: Amy keeps the pressure on her rival by another jabbing sequence to the guts and Elodie seems really puzzled and more frustrated of the two. Childs closes the distance and looks for one big punch to the head but she's not quite fast enough in execution and a couple of attempts are easily covered by the French blonde who finally finds some response when she nails the redhead in the breasts with a stiff jab half-way through the round. Amy tries to cover up her midsection but Elodie throws a nice hook over her gloves that skims off the chin and forces Childs to jump away. Elodie looks to pounce on that moment as she jumps in pursuit of the redhead and they tangle with each other against the ropes. Some chaotic jabbing from both sides finally ends when Elodie land a nasty hook to Amy's eye and forces her to bend down in pain. Elodie launches a solid combinaton to the guts before landing another good hook to the side of the head. Childs jumps to the side in a desperate fashion but gets pinned in the corner and all of the sudden she's under a barrage of punches from the French girl and the crowd errupts in joy. Frege continues to throw blows to her aching opponent's body but her rout is soon stopped by the bell and she shakes her head in frustration. Meanwhile Childs walks back to her corner on soft legs and what's worse, her right eye begins to swell as she took few punches too many in this round.
Round 7: Elodie targets doing more damage to Amy's right eye and she throws a number of jabs to the head but the redhead weaves and ducks all over the ring in avoidance. She's clearly out of her comfort zone with that problem to the eye and responds with a minimum number of jabs herself that aren't causing any trouble. Elodie moves in more aggressively towards the end of the round and lands a couple of hooks to the chest before an uppecut attempt just misses Amy's chin. Nonetherless Frege pushes her along the ropes and lands more blows to the midsection as Amy covers up her face in desperation. She survives until the bell but looks really sore walking back to her corner.
Round 8: It's the same story at the start of the eight. Elodie steps in on the redhead who begins circling around the ring and trying to avoid the blonde's jabs. Frege's stamina keeps up well late into the bout as she clearly begins to overwhelm her opponent physically. After few attempts, she finally lands a jab to the face, as Amy was too slow raising her guard and she follows up with a big hook to the eye. Childs gets thrown onto the ropes and bounces off just as Elodie comes up with a crushing jab that would have send her crashing down in agony... however it misses cause Amy has leaned forward and Elodie's hook misses her head by inches. In fact, Frege gets thrown off balance herself and falls onto the ropes. Amy suddenly is right behind ger and throws a couple of jabs to the guts, just as Elodie was turning back away. Childs with a sudden advantage, throws more jabs to the stomach and clearly catches the completely surprised French girl a number of times before she runs out of steam and the round ends with both girls clinching along the ropes and breathing heavily.
Round 9: Childs shows more aggression, begins throwing some hooks to the head. Elodie jumps back and allows the redhead to become more lively in the ring. Amy steps forward and tries a low combination, Elodie jumps back again, but gets trapped in the corner as Childs responds with some intensive jabbing to the midsection. She's not ruthless enough in execution though and allows Elodie to clinch her forcing a lenghty pushing affair along the ropes. Referee separates the girls and back in center of the ring, Amy lands a good hook to the head as Frege's head jumps backwards. Amy follows up and pushes her opponent along the ropes but her attack is too chaotic and despite having Elodie more or less at her mercy, she allows the French girl to clinch again. Both girls are quickly running out of breath and don't have enough strenght to push each other away anymore. Ref steps in again, but there's no action in this round until the bell as both girls look really tired.
Round 10: Elodie starts the final round with one last push intended to cause more damage to Amy's eye, but she only wastes some energy in trying as she's not as quick on her feet as she was before and allows Amy to move away from danger. Elodie is clearly frustrated that she's hasn't been able to end the fight on a high and waives her fist at Amy who in turn looks happy just to make it into the tenth after her previous two fights lasted less than seven rounds in total. Frege tries to move forward inside the last minute but Amy now literally runs along the ropes and just wants to hear the bell for the final time. Wasteful jabbing from Elodie brings this bout to an end and the final round literally saw only three of four punches land on target and both girls are in different state of mind at the bell. Amy smiles wildly despite a sore looking eye and prevents her first KO loss regardless of the final verdict while Elodie shakes her head and gets involved in a pretty vivid talk with coach Gina Wild. There were some high expectations from the French girl on her London debut and she couldn't even knock down the mediocre fighter like Childs once during ten rounds. But here comes the verdict...
After ten round of boxing we go to the scorecards... judges score the bout 99-96, 99-97 and 98-97 all in favor of the winner... ELODIE FREGE!!!!
Post-fight: Muted response from the crowd who clearly didn't enjoy Frege winning on points and neither were the Lioness Club senior executives. Amy Childs was supposed to be treated like a quick snack for breakfast but caused some trouble to the French blonde. Both girls give each other a hug and begin to leave the ring. There are still some loud whistles to be heard when Elodie makes her way back to the locker room but when Amy leaves the stage, she's departed with a much louder cheer and applause. Either most of the fans found her more attractive or she's really won some fans tonight with quite a gutsy display of boxing even though she's unlikely to threaten the big players in the bantamweight division for the time being. After two fights, Lioness Club leads 2-0.
Final result: Elodie Frege def. Amy Childs UD10.
