BBU/LIONESS CLUB EVENT: LIONESS CLUB VS KEAR'S KATS

There's no clear favorite in this bout although Brown's home crowd support might give her a slight edge as well as the fact Jenkins has had to built some weight for this one as she continues to swap between fly and bantam divisions. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Both girls in energetic mood, jabbing vigorously and trying to land as many juicy punches as possible. Brown works around the blonde's head and almost catches her with a big hook early on but Jenkins shows exceptional speed across the ring and weaves away from all the efforts thrown at her. She steps forward and lands a couple of jabs to Melanie's tummy before following up with an uppercut that gets blocked by her guard. Jenkins jumps away and continues to circle around the ropes as Melanie looks to trap her in a corner. Some fake punches follow but eventually Brown unleashes a good combination to the midsection that forces the blonde to cover up. Melanie steps forward and tries an uppecut on her own, but Katherine was too quick for her and ducked low before clinching. Both girls struggle along the ropes and allthough Melanie finally muscles her rival away. ref steps in and separates them. Shortly afterwards the round is over.

Round 2:
Melanie storms out of her stool, but still fails to match Katherine's speed across the ring. Some fruitless jabbing follows as Jenkins seems to enjoy wearing the older opponent out. Brown tries to close the distance and finally lands a good combination to the guts but the Welsh blonde seems completely unmoved and causes some trouble on her own as she lands a series of jabs to Melanie's jugs before another hook catches her in the side of the head. Brown got caught napping with that sequence and jumps away in panic as Katherine lands another jab to the face before the local girl can finally catch some breath. Katherine becomes more aggressive after that brief momentum shift and throws another jabbing combo to the midsection forcing her rival to cover up. More solid punches back Brown against the ropes and Jenkins pounds her with more blows to the ribs before Mel can clinch her and stop the rout. After some extended pushing and shoving, ref steps in and brings them back to center of the ring. The round concludes with both women circling around and teasing each other with some fake jabs.

Round 3:
Brown is visibly upset and unleashes an early charge in the third. A couple of big hooks are easily avoided by Jenkins thanks to her superior footwork but Melanie squares right up to her and after some vivid jabbing, she manages to back her against the ropes. The crowd gets suddenly over-excited as their girl sets up her best position to attack yet, but a huge low jab to the ribs bounces off Katherine's tummy like it's made of concrete wall. Everyone expected the blonde to be cut in half with that monster punch and even Mel seems to have seen her rival tumbling down on the canvas already. She lowers her left glove and all of the sudden gets nailed right in the ear with a massive right-hook from Katherine. The joyful crowd gets silenced in a second and Melanie goes tumbling down on her side!!! Ref starts the count... Katherine looks as surprised with that haymaker as everyone around... three... four... Mel still motionless on the floor.... five... six.. she opens her eyes and checks what's going on... seven.. eight... she finally realizes she's down on the canvas and tries to get up... nine.. a desperate leap forward enables Brown to wrap her left arm around the ropes, but that's all she wrote tonight... TEN!!!! It is over... the bell sounds and the crowd is dead silent as Melanie falls down on her back again and looks totally humiliated... Katherine Jenkins still in a state of shock even when the ref raises her arm and declares her the winner.. KO R3 Katherine Jenkins in a monster-upset kind of style!!!

Post-fight:
The Kats corner jumping back and forth in joy as the crowd begins to applaud the winner in somewhat laid-back fashion. Katherine Jenkins sports a gigantic smile on her face and climbs the ropes before blowing kisses to the crowd. The applause gets louder and the people start coming to terms with what they've just witnessed.

Meanwhile in the Lioness corner Gina Wild throws a death stare at her fighter and Melanie doesn't have the courage to even look her in the eye. There's a rumor around that coach Wild wasn't too happy with Brown travelling to Australia in recent weeks to be a part of an entertainment show and therefore skipping a lot of training in the gym in the proccess. If it wasn't for Jessica Schwarz's upcoming BBU title fight keeping coach Wild busy for most of the time, Brown would be crawling in the gym on a daily basis herself. The writing is on the wall for her though as Kats draw level 2-2.
