One of the most anticipated BBU debuts in recent weeks comes to the fore in the fifth bout of tonight's event as Kear's Kats Rosie Huntington-Whiteley faces local favorite Karolina Kurkova. There was a lot of talk before this fight that these two could develop a career-long rivalry and Rosie catches a perfect timing for her debut as Karolina's overall shape hangs in limbo after a brutal TKO loss to Sayuki Matsumoto few days ago.

However if the Czech model wants to prove her highly-touted skills and fully make up for that defeat, then Rosie must consider this one an exceptionally tough introduction to BBU community. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Tactical display at the start of the fight as both girls circle around each other and throw some fake punches, but keep the distance in tact. Karolina finally steps in and lands a nice jabbing combination to her rival's stomach but Rosie responds with a big hook to the chest and forces the Czech to jump away. Both girls continue to circle around before Karolina once again launches an attack to the midsection however the English model has it all covered and defends well with a low-guard.

Round 2:
Kurkova steps it up again, working around Rosie's head, but the Kats' model is keeping a solid guard and Karolina's efforts are fruitless at the start of the second. The Czech model circles back and enables her opponent to throw a good combination herself, but a left-right flick to the face gets blocked by Kurkova's guard as well. More intensive jabbing follows, but neither girl is able to land one really good punch and cause some signifiant damage early on.

Round 3:
It's still a very even contest as most punches are blocked off by some fine defence from both sides. Karolina starts to lose her temper though and tries to increase the intensivity before finally catching her rival in the nose with a quick stiff jab that Rosie was slow to react to. Kurkova follows up on that one with a jabbing sequence to the stomach and backs Huntington against the ropes. Rosie bends forward and clinches, but gets nailed a couple of times in the chest again before finally stopping the blonde's brief moment of advantage. Both girls are locked in a clinch as Karolina tries to further enhance her position by jabbing her rival to the ribs and she causes some damage as Rosie cringes in discomfort as she's unable to defend from such a close striking range.

Round 4:
Karolina wastes little time and moves forward on her rival, trying to closes the distance but Rosie throws a couple of hooks to the head before jumping away. Kurkova continues to hassle her around the ring though and traps her in the corner half-way through the round. She unleashes a quick combination to the midsection before an uppecut follow up catches Huntington in the jaw and throws her onto the ropes. Rosie struggles to stay upright and nearly falls over but all her efforts are finally resolved when Karolina jumps right up to her and lands a couple of big jabs to the head sending the English model down on her knees!!! Ref starts the count, but Rosie shakes off that bad moment and gets up at five before nodding in approval to the man in charge and the fight resumes. Karolina immediately tries to land more punches but Rosie sidesteps away from danger and forces the blonde into some wasteful jabbing until the end of the round.

Round 5:
Karolina still in attacking mood, squares up to her rival and lands a solid hook to the jugs, but Rosie responds with an even bigger hook to the ear which sees Kurkova's head snap backwards. Huntington follows it up with a good jabbing sequence to the jugs and for the first time Karolina is in deep trouble as Rosie backs her against the ropes and pounds several times in the head and body. Kurkova ducks low, weaves away and covers up but eventually survives as the English girl runs out of steam and can't finish off her attack in style. Karolina is clearly relieved and locks into a clinch as both girls start to show first signs of fatigue.

Round 6:
Rosie looks to built upon that good spell in the previous round and throws a solid combination to the midsection before landing another hook on the head. Karolina gets pushed against the ropes again but keeps her guard well and prevents the English girl from causing significant damage. Rosie is annoyed that majority of her punches crash off the blonde's guard and leans on Karolina before literally pushing her off the ring as the Czech girl gets tangled up between the ropes. Ref separates them and it's Kurkova's turn to become angry as she viciously jabs her rival in the stomach before catching her with a nasty uppecut in the jaw. Rosie covers up and jumps away as Kurkova backs her against the ropes and lands more punches to the guts. Huntington cringes in pain, but bends forward and clinches as Karolina pummels her without any significant venom thereafter. Round ends with both girls clinching along the ropes and struggling for superiority.

Round 7:
Fitness comes into play as Huntington-Whiteley seems to have serious trouble breathing during the interval. Kurkova landed several big shots to her midsection in the previous two rounds and the English model looks pretty red on her face while in the other corner, the Czech girl keeps a calm breath instead. This pattern is followed during the round as all of the sudden Rosie is clearly slower on her feet and allows Karolina to jab her a number of times without much response. Kurkova notices that Rosie is having a bad period and steps in agressively landing some big hooks to the stomach that the English girl is barely able to cover with a last ditch low-guard. However she's put under a barrage of punches as Kurkova backs her against the ropes and pummels with a furious sequence. That's a good thirty seconds of unanswered pounding and the ref steps in!!! But he doesn't stop the fight! He gives a standing eight count to Huntington who really looks beaten up after that rout. Lioness Club corner is furious with that decision, they were expecting a TKO decision right there and then, but Rosie is allowed to continue and the crowd is equally mad at this conclusion. Karolina looks to finish off her rival for good, but Rosie weaves around the ropes until the bell and avoids further damage. That was a big round for Kurkova allthough the fight could have been over already.

Round 8:
Rosie looks tired in her corner, but she's encouraged to one final push in order to turn this fight around. She throws some early hooks to Karolina's head but the Czech girl ignores them and steps in very aggressively again, looking for a big uppercut to the jaw. She misses it though and enables Rosie to counter with a jabbing sequence to the chest which push her away. Rosie with a sudden rush of blood to the head, jumps up to her opponent and rocks her with a nasty hook to the ear. Karolina moans in pain and gets nailed with another uppercut to the jaw. She's losing her balance and allthough she tries to clinch, Huntington unleashes yet another hook to the head and down goes the Czech girl!!! The crowd gets silenced as they remember all too well how Katherine Jenkins dispatched Melanie Brown in the earlier bout. Rosie looks on her fallen rival with hardly any sympathy in her eyes, but Karolina manages to get up on her feet at seven and the fight resumes. The momentum has switched though and Rosie throws more jabs to the head. Karolina still looks stunned and reverts to covering up and allowing the English model to score many blows at her expense. However she runs out of energy in her efforts and is unable to knock the Czech model down for the second time before the bell.

Round 9:
Both girls look really tired in their corners and there's a touch of uncertainty if they will be able to produce some fireworks anymore. Karolina throws some jabs at first but clearly struggles to breath and Rosie isn't exactly in the best of shapes either. More ducking and weaving follow before the English girl launches an attack but her punches are weak and crash harmlessly off Kurkova's gloves. Both girls clinch and try to muscle each other into the ropes but nearly stumble over in the proccess. The winning mindset is still there on both sides, but physical condition prevents them from a proper execution. It's almost like someone pulled the plug on this bout and the crowd begins to whistle. But they can't do anything about the fact that both girls are running on empty tanks late in this contest.

Round 10:
Rosie looks for one final attack and lands a couple of jabs early in the final round, but Karolina clinches her and eventually backs against the ropes. After a lenghty struggle, she manages to land a good hook to Huntington's ribs but the English girl covers up and prevents a vicious uppercut from reaching her jaw. Kurkova digs into her last resorts of energy and manages to land more jabs on her foe's stomach, but Rosie responds with a nasty lacing hook to the back of the head. Ref steps in and gives the English girl a warning, but she ignores him completely and glances only at her rival. Both girls circle around like wounded animals inside the final minute of this bout but they can only sign off with a weak jabbing sequence that lands on the arms and gloves and causes no damage whatsoever. With ten seconds remaining Kurkova throws one more punch but Rosie jumps away and bounces off the ropes before nearly getting collected in the face by her opponent's flying hook. However that one misses the target and both girls crash into each other as the bell brings this fight to an end. There's still some shoving in middle of the ring before the referee separates them and sends to their corners.

There were flashes of entertaining boxing especially during middle stages of this fight but the last two rounds were somewhat disappointng as neither girl could swing this one into her favor mainly due to strenght & fitness issues. Crowd awaits the verdict as both corners also look anxious and uncertain of the final result. Here it comes....

After ten round of boxing we go to the scorecards. Judges score the bout 97-96, 97-95 and 97-96 all in favor of the winner KAROLINA KURKOVA!!!!

Post-fight:
Girls ignore each other after the verdict is given as Karolina begins her walk around the ring with crowd vividly cheering her on. This proved a very tough test for the Czech model who had her work cut out tonight and barely secured an unamious decision in her favor. One thinks she'll need to improve a lot when she faces another newcomer Krystal Forscutt in the BBU title undercard next week.

On the other hand, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley enjoyed a very promising debut and with more experience under her belt, she should cause even more trouble both to Kurkova and other BBU lightweights. With better fitness preparation she could have won this fight already as she avenged an early knockdown and another standing 8-count before sending the local girl to the canvas herself in the eight. She failed to back it up in the final two rounds though and lost a very close contest.

Kurkova returned to winning ways after a bad loss to Sayuki Matsumoto, but it came down to Huntington's inexperience in clutch moments more than anything else. Things may change when these two meet again in the future but for now Lioness Club takes back the lead in tonight's event and it's 3-2 before the pin-up fight between Geri Halliwell and Cheryl Cole.
