Big weekend in Cardiff. It was looking like an awesome week for the Aussies until they didn't fair to well in the title fights.

The format currently lends itself to these types of resutls, but I think once all the girls involved in the BBU start getting some fights under their belts, you won't see the dominance from the title holders. But I'll get into this in more depth later.

Havana Brown/Layla Kayleigh - Dominant performance from Havana, and Georgie Thompson gets it dead right when she says she is a "helluva good boxer". She is in the mould of Emily Browning but much quicker and evasive and has that surprising power.

Emily Browning/Virginie Leydoyen - I predicted KO6 and it was a TKO8. She is shaping up is the best Flyweight in Australia. Don't forget this girl went the distance with Hayden Panetierre when she was FCBA Champion. She is on title track....BBU....FCBA....which ever. Her fight with Hudgens at FCBA PPV is shaping up as a beauty.

Imogen Thomas/Leilani Dowding - Surprising win for Thomas who was floored early, but fought back galantly against the experienced Dowding. Dowding not disgraced, really should have finished it in round 2.

Natalie Imbruglia/Tulisa Contostovlos - one of those match ups we were referring to earlier. First fight for Imbruglia at any level and is thrown up against someone 13 years her junior. She will come back stronger for it and yes Alex, she is definitely a Bantam.

Karolina Kurkova/Krystal Froscutt - have it on good authority that YassieD was worried about this fight. Karolina beat Hawkins at the Downunder/Lioness event and Hawkins has always had Forscutts measure. Big win this for Forscutt, more than the Sky Sports guys might think. She's good, but it is crazy scary how much better she can be.

Pippa Middleton/Jessie J - you could be forgiven for wondering how Jessie J won this fight. Watch it back and read the review, it is all Pippa Middleton. She basically dominated until she got caught in the 6th. I would say connections could right this one off us unlucky. But still, a good result for Jessie J and as they say, a wins a win.

Tiffany Mulheron/Adele Silva - an epic battle for a title fight, what more could the fans want. Great display of boxing by Mulheron to score a points decision and capture the title. Predicting Mulheron/Em Browning next month and think Adele Silva/Havana Brown will be a cracker.

Jessica Schwarz/Alesha Dixon - so much talk in the lead up. Too much. Almost wanted to see this fight end in the first. A shame Schwarz carried on at the end, sets herself for a huge fall if she fails in her next title like Dixon has. And lets face it, title reigns don't lest forever. Dixon should not be disappointed as she was leading the fight until the 5th.

Rochelle Wiseman/Abbie Cornish - well all we can say over here is well done Rochelle. It's not the way we expected the fight to go as Abbie is a much more rugged fighter than that. Wiseman must hit hard to cause that much damage to arguably the best Lightweight in Australia.

Sabrina Washington/Kimberley Davies - not sure what Charlotte was smoking, there's only 5 years between them. No surprises for us as Kimberley showed she can knock down and I quote Knowlesy "the best welterweight around". Good win for Sabrina, set the fight up nicely and has shown she has what it takes to string wins together. But I think I need to find out from Charlette who she is thinking Bridges or Murdoch are more plausible for....I hope she is not talking about Davies.....she's already beaten them.

All in all a great event. The match ups should start to fall in line with current form as more events like this take place. The current title holders can be very fortunate to be where they are, but lets not forget the fighters that are waiting in th wings. The BBU is in a strong position that's for sure.
