A rematch between these two was arranged before either of them had recovered from their recent drawn fight, a fight they each thought they had won.

Into the ring they come, and Sayuki looks fantastic tonight in a bright blue bikini, with Tiana hot in a white bikini. The girls have respect for one another, but one of them must surely win tonight?

Round 1

That respect is showing through in an opening round where neither girl is risking too much, Tiana relying on her height and reach to jab away at Sayuki, with the Japanese girl not landing to the Brit’s body with the ease she would like, and there’s nothing much in this round until the final minute, when Sayuki does get through Tiana’s defences, and she lands to her ribs with three nice left hooks, at last making some inroads into the actress, but not enough to really hurt her as yet, although she looked the more comfortable girl there.

Round 2

Tiana isn’t keen to mix it with Sayuki, and she’s boxing her very much off the back foot, adopting a very defensive attitude, then frustrating the model when she gets in close by tying her up and gripping her with those long arms. As the round wears on, Tiana is beginning to assert herself, and she’s clipping Sayuki with her long and looping jabs, beginning to make the model back up a little – the Japanese girl still comes forward, but she needs to up the pace if she’s to do Tiana any damage, and at the moment she’s getting a technical lesson.

Round 3

The action is beginning to warm up a little more, but still it’s Tiana taking control of the ring as her own and making Sayuki look sloppy by comparison. Tiana’s jabs are reddening the Japanese girl’s features more now, and she’s landing to her body, too, thudding shots which have the model sliding back and into the ropes. She fights back well, though, and isn’t letting the older girl dominate the second half of the round, slipping inside her jab, wiping some neat shots into her midriff, and she’s got Tiana backed up into the ropes as the bell approaches, although the actress lands a good one-two to her face to show she’s still on top.

Round 4

It’s business as usual for Tiana in the early exchanges, as she has Sayuki backed up again – the Japanese girl isn’t getting her punishing shots working at all tonight, and her technique just isn’t tight enough to get away with this. Tiana’s holding onto the model when she does get in close enough to throw anything meaningful to her body, and the frustration is becoming obvious as the younger girl is becoming a little ragged with her work and taking more punches from a fairly impressive Tiana than she really needs, resulting in her right cheek bruising up. Once again Sayuki ends the round strongly, and she tags Tiana with a left hook to the jaw, then a right to the body – enough to hurt the Brit, but not enough to take the round.

Round 5

The pace of the fight is picking up again, and Tiana is very much content with this, popping some neat shots into Sayuki’s face as the model struggles to come to terms with her reach, having to take a punch to land a punch. Sayuki gets herself in a muddle halfway through the round, and Tiana stuns her with a nice right hook to the mouth, then whups another into her ribcage, and the model’s got herself trapped on the ropes, starting to take a beating, but she turns the actress neatly, lands a super left jab to her cheek, then spins away, leaving Tiana to recover before coming back for more, hurts the actress to the body, but then gets smacked to the head with a four punch combo before the bell ends another round for the Brit, who has now taken 4 on the bounce.

Round 6

Tiana wants Sayuki back on those ropes, and she’s starting to push the shorter girl around a little, starting to bully her, her technique and size giving her an advantage. Tiana hits Sayuki to the face with her left, then her right, and the model’s bounced back into the ropes again, but, as Tiana follows her in, she turns her again, and this time she bangs the Brit to the body with a feverish attack, bending her over, then rapping three, four punches into her face, and Tiana’s holding on now, taking real punishment from Sayuki, who hurts her girl with a choppy little uppercut to the mouth, then with a right hook to the jaw which sends her sprawled to the ropes, the Brit recovering her senses to clinch when the model comes in closer. The round is coming to a close, and Sayuki manages to hurt Tiana again – this time to the body, as she lands three unanswered hooks to her ribcage, and the fight is now definitely alive.

Round 7

Now Tiana’s slower about her work, and Sayuki is taking advantage of her wounded victim, warming to her task more and more as she clubs punches into the taller girl’s body, bringing down her high guard, and now she lands to the face. Sayuki is hurting Tiana with big right hooks to the jaw, and the Brit’s face is smudged with blood as her lips split open, a left hand to the solar plexus has her numbed, and another right hook to the face floors her. Tiana’s down, and groaning, but she regains her feet, if not her balance at 6, her eyes a little glazed, and Sayuki closes in again, trying as hard as she can to finish the big actress off, but she’s getting held and clinched, then, when she gets in too close, Tiana manages to smack some of her owm punches in, and she hurts the model to the body in the closing seconds.

Round 8

Sayuki starts the round well, standing toe to toe with the bigger Tiana, and she’s got the girl moving backwards pretty soon, sucking her into a brawl and hurting her with some good punches to her ribs and flanks. Tiana’s on the ropes now, and Sayuki’s hurt her again to the body, but the actress defends herself well, even throwing her own punches off the ropes, and now it’s Sayuki’s turn to defend – not for long, though, as Tiana starts to tire, and she’s backed up to those ropes again late in the round, and gets hurt once more to the body, in a round which just about sees Sayuki sneak ahead of her.

Round 9

Once again, Sayuki attacks straight off her stool, and Tiana’s possible beginning to wilt now, her long legs beginning to look a little more tired than they did before, Sayuki nails Tiana with a right hook to the mouth as the round approaches half-way, and she has her stumbling, comes in to land some more shots – but gets rebuffed! Tiana fights back for all she’s worth, and she’s ripped three left hooks into the model’s face one after another, making the younger girl buckle a little, but she isn’t changing her style, bless her, still coming forwards, but now she’s eating leather as the big actress pumps away at her, making her stand still, clubbing her with another left hook – Sayuki’s quaking, takes to the ropes, and in pours Tiana, slamming shots into the Japanese girl’s body to try to reveal that head for further punishment. The bell comes too soon for Tiana’s liking, but the girls are probably level on most cards – who has the strength left to win it?

Round 10

The early exchanges suggest that Tiana has something left in the tank here, and she pushes Sayuki into the ropes early on, landing well to her body, and hurts her with a nice left hook to the jaw, sending the model along the ropes, looking to trap her in the corner. Surely she’s got Sayuki softened up enough to flatten her now, but still she goes for body, getting in nice and tight – but Sayuki turns her, the Japanese girl coming off the ropes, pinning Tiana instead, and she sinks a heavy, heavy punch into the Brit’s belly, then straightens her up with a short, sharp uppercut – Tiana’s looking dazed – big right hook from Sayuki, and Tiana’s down, just sliding down the ropes onto her side, arms above her head, and this could be the end! Sayuki thinks so, as she wheels away, but Tiana’s up again – just beating the count at 9, and, with less than half a minute to go, the referee lets the fight go on, but Tiana’s just a punchbag now, and Sayuki storms into her, big shots to the face, but she can’t finish the job – the bell ends the fight, and the girls embrace at that.

It’s unanimous from the judges, if tight – Sayuki Matsumoto beat Tiana Benjamin on points.

Sayuki is the real deal – no doubt about it, and could be a contender for Rochelle Wiseman’s BBU lightweight belt in 2012.
