TESS VALMORE
DENNINGS/ KARDASHIAN. This was Dennings maiden fight. We have thought that Kardashian’s fighting ability was equal to her acting ability, which is to say, none. This was a good fight, but basically sloppy. Both went down, Kardashian more than Dennings and in the end Dennings got the decision taking seven of the ten rounds. A good outing for Dennings, but Front Street really needs to work with her.
GLAU/ WILDE What a great display from Wilde. Glau is a good fighter, but Wilde made her look like a newbie. Wilde took every round decking Glau in the fifth, before finishing her off in the seventh. Wilde KO7
KELLY/ DOBREV This was another good fight. It is back and forth. I had the rounds even through eight. Dobrev had floored Kelly in the sixth that gave her a slight lead. I am embarrassed to say that I missed the ninth since nature called. Kelly did enough in the tenth to get a draw. She, then hammered Dobrev into oblivion in the eleventh to get a TKO win
BROWNING/ HUDGENS Browning, a fighter from the land of Oz, got her second FCBA fight and her second loss. The fight really wasn’t close. Hudgens swept the first five rounds and then took three of the last five to get a wide decision
PRATT/ REFAELI This was a sad fight to see. Pratt, once a promising fighter, simply got taken apart by a model who has not impressed me up to this point. Pratt would only take two rounds in losing by a wide decision. Pratt had a short run at Front Street. Obviously, the Wiz knew what he was doing when he canned her after one fight. Pratt should retire
LARTER/ PALICKI OK let’s give Jenny McCarthy a A on this fight. Even though Ali was three inches shorter than Adrianne, I thought her boxing ability would set her up for a win. Jenny thought Palicki’s power punching would be decisive. She was right. Palicki ruined Larter in the third. Larter would make it out for two more rounds, but Palicki dialed in big time in the sixth and put Larter down for the count
RUAH/ C. BELL There is a problem at the Academy. Mainly a refusal to accept that a fighter is no longer what she was. That the fighter should retire. In this case it is Catherine Bell, who lost her fourth fight in the last five. It’s not that she wasn’t competitive, It’s that she didn’t win. Bell was competitive through nine. In the tenth she met her demise. The second straight fight she has lost by a KO10. It was a big win for Ruah. I don’t understand why someone hasn’t signed this brunette. Could she become the next Bell? I think so
LIMA/ UPTON I told Fred that I was not impressed with big racks and I would rather be down the bar rather that watch was supposed to be a fight. He actually said he didn’t blame me. I mean a couple of models who are on the path to nowhere. I managed to sip through a glass of Jack when I was informed that Lima had won by a KO
WITHERSPOON/ CARTER Academy lesson number 2. Here we have another Academy fighter, however this one is not or will she be in the Hall Of Fame. Witherspoon who is a loser, has had a good year. We think she has overachieved and this fight proved it. Carter is a very good fighter and she essentially made a joke of the fight. Witherspoon did deck Carter in the first but after that it was all Carter. Witherspoon would take only one more round and would get floored in the seventh. Carter go a wide decision
MONTGOMERY/ GERMAN Actually, I have forgotten who German is. After this fight, German has probably forgotten who she is. She lasted about two minutes of being bombed by Montgomery before she went down and out. We would say it was impressive for Montgomery if we knew who German was.
DANES/ MILIAN. Miss Ginny questioned our judgement when we named Danes to the Hall of Fame. Since that time she has won every fight (all two) It took Danes only about five minutes to dispose of Milian. Danes by a KO2. We won’t go into the post fight.
GARNER/ CARPENTER I was shocked by Carpenter’s pre-fight statements and even more shocked at the outcome of Garner’s first farewell tour fight. Jennifer had a good first two rounds but then Carpenter started to break her down. It was hard for me to watch. Garner went down in the sixth and barely finished the round, She would not finish the seventh. Carpenter ripped into Garner, finally putting her down. Jennifer would make to her feet at the ten count but the referee waived the fight off
RIGHETTI/ THERON. Academy lesson #3. I really like Ms Theron. She is my favorite who is not a personal friend. I just wish she would have stayed home reading, and enjoying the great reviews the drop dead gorgeous blonde is getting for “Young Adult”. She had no business in the ring with Righetti and everyone knew it, probably including her manager. She had zero chance of winning this fight. The surprising thing was that she finished. That fact can be taken to mean that Righetti had a serious bad night. If Righetti would have been at her best, the fight would have lasted an eye blink. I know that both went down, but the decision wasn’t close. I was very disappointed in Charlize's post fight comments. Showed she just didn’t know how bad she had just been beaten. If our view of Charlize’s upcoming matches is correct, we can safely predict that she this was the first of at least a four fight losing streak. Vassago is correct. Charlize is a living legend, the greatest. It is just a shame she has to go down the path planned for her
PORTMAN/ SCERBO This fight was a heartbreaker for me. My best buddy, Cassie Scerbo, finally gets a title fight and then as far as I am concerned, gets a raw deal. The way I looked at the fight, Portman did win four of the first five. But Cassie came back to win four of the last five and deck Portman twice. How can that end in a draw? Stupid judges. Cassie should have won the fight in ten. Instead she has to go into overtime. Yes, she could have won two straight rounds, but she didn’t. You can’t fault Portman (who I like). She had enough in the tank to take the last two rounds and get the decision. Still I am very disappointed.
DECESARE/ CUTHBERT The second championship bout of the night. It was an entertaining fight. The two were even after four, but after that Cuthbert took control. She had Decesare staggering at the end of the seventh. Cuthbert followed up in the eighth with a vicious body attack that set up a final right to the jaw that put Decesare down for the count.
PEREGRYM/ BIEL I have said numerous times that I don’t bet against Biel, ever. Now you can understand why, Peregrym is a fine fighter, but Biel simply took her apart. Missy did get the first round, but after that Biel took control. The sixth round was hard to watch as Biel simply destroyed the champ. A short right being the final punch that ended Peregrym’s title run
BROOK/ LIVELY First, we aren’t big fans of the Ice Hotel bouts, Second, we are not found of any of the Jeri’s fighters with the exception of Landry. Those two points led me to favor Lively. Well I was wrong. Not about Brook, I still am not a fan to put it mildly but she won the fight. Lively went down in the third, was out on her feet at the end of six and totally out via a pair of rights in the seventh |
